We’re expected to get between 3 and 5 inches of rain between tomorrow and Thursday. If that’s correct we should be able to handle that easily but it will be messy. Ground’s still soggy and there’s no hay as it’s too wet to cut and dry. Trees are happy as all get out though, still have trees sdding new growth and that’s supposed to be over by now. Then again they’re sucking up more carbon from those plants making Starbucks cups so things have a way of working out.

Well I think it is both. You can’t always get what you want 🙂 .

I wondered at first if Trump chose this as a salvo. Not only to Hillary but to the elites in general. Now that he still has it played after his rallies I’m rather certain that this song has intent.

I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands

The minions I would guess rarely listen to POTUS rallies but the elites do and have their responders listening so President Trump basically eviscerates the elites and the MSM during every speech, they and their poodles start foaming at the mouth. The next thing you know they’re listening to “The art of the deception” kind of a clever interconnection to “The Art of the Deal,” it’s my opinion, one of the most beneficial things that President Trump has done was build an internal war machine with his personal knowledge of DC’s corruption and attached each act to name. Personally I think this song reminds the elites about his war list.

”Blood-stained hands,” such a curious remark in a campaign song.

It is a reminder that there is a new sheriff in town and even though the minions and elites are fighting tooth and nail against goodness and reality it is what we all need.

No, you can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometime you find
            You get what you need

            Even a bit prophetic;

We went down to the demonstration
To get your fair share of abuse
Singing, “We’re gonna vent our frustration
            If we don’t we’re gonna blow a fifty-amp fuse”

Knock your socks off Lefties and elites blow your fuse.

But I could just be reading too much into it because I enjoy seeing the Lefties getting knocked about 😜Ya’ never know.

To ne the worst part is after the water recedes. The mud and debris that wil beed cleaning up, the stench of what was deposited and, if you are unlucky enough to have a protracted dry spell after the water leaves, the dust. The mud here was made from fine particles that didn’t compact, the slightest wind blew choking clouds of it into the air. Sinus infections were almost a badge of occupancy.
I’d suggest that those who can send things like painter’s masks, duct tape, heavy garbage bags, cleaning supplies…they will be desperately needed and in short supply. The cleanup will be a monster task, think of all of the freezers and refrigerators without power and food rotting inside. You’ll see lots of them taped shut and standing by the curb.
Drywall…around the coast folks leatned decades ago that obe installs it with the sheets horizontal instead of vertical as if your house takes just two feet or fewer you’re less likely to have to replace the drywall floor to ceiling. More curb decorations.
Carpeting? Flooring? Furniture with particle board, the list is endless. We had a huge area west of NOLA where all of the debris were piled up; it was about a mile long and a couple of hundred feet wide and trash was piled about 30 feet high. It was held there for transport to dumps in open-top 18-wheelers. All of those fridges and freezers will have to be emptied and their refrigerants removed and stored before they can be dealt with. Oh yeah, all of those cars and trucks that were flooded, including those in car dealerships, will have to be removed…that in itself is a sight.
This will be a mess of biblical proportions…look how long and how much work it took to get NOLA bavk up and it was nowhere near as…..searching for a word here…. as Houston is.

I forgot to post a bacon recipe last week – oh well, maybe I’m still just getting back into a routine! I have not tried it, but bacon and chocolate is good!

    Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies
    Yield: 3 dozen cookies
    Ingredients
    • 12 ounces bacon, cut into 1/4-inch dice*
    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1/2 cup reserved bacon fat, chilled
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons bourbon liquor
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 large eggs
    • 8 ounces dark chocolate 65-percent, chopped into small pieces*
    Directions
In a large saute pan, cook out the diced bacon until the bacon pieces are golden and crisp. Remove the bacon pieces from the fat and drain on a paper towel. Strain the fat through a fine sieve and measure out a 1/2 cup bacon fat and chill the bacon fat until it congeals and is set.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in a small bowl. Beat the butter, chilled bacon fat, granulated sugar, light sugar, dark brown sugar, bourbon, and vanilla, in a large mixer bowl, until it is well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in the flour mixture. Stir in the cooked bacon pieces and chopped chocolate bits. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto parchment-lined baking sheets at least 3-inches apart.
Bake in the oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Keep in a dry, airtight container for up to 5 days.
    Cook’s Note
A fattier sliced bacon is preferred, as lean bacon and turkey bacon will not work for this recipe.
*Use a dark chocolate with 65-percent cocoa or higher. Semi-sweet chocolate rather than milk chocolate makes a BIG difference in flavor profile.

Speaking of doughnuts and cows… When I lived out in central/western Massachusetts, people owning cows was common. In one town they had the long haired Highland cattle that looked like a cow version of a woolly mammoth. On Sundays the local Dunkin Donuts would run out of jelly donuts because people would go after church, buy them out and feed them to the cattle who would wait at the iron fence! BTW The little ones are sooo cute! This picture, tho not sure where it is, looks like the farm I would go to.

        per wiki:
They originated in the Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland and were first mentioned in the 6th century AD. They are a hardy breed. They are raised primarily for their meat. Their milk generally has a very high butterfat content, and their meat, regarded as of the highest quality, is gaining mainstream acceptance as it is lower in cholesterol than other varieties of beef. Because they have a docile temperament and the milk has a high butterfat content, they have traditionally been used as house cows. They are generally good-natured animals but very protective of their young. A dairy house cow, or cows, are kept to provide milk for a home kitchen.
They have an unusual double coat of hair. On the outside is the oily outer hair—the longest of any cattle breed—covering a downy undercoat. For show purposes, Highland cattle are sometimes groomed with oils and conditioners to give their coats a fluffy appearance that is more apparent in calves; it leads some outside the industry to call them “fluffy cows”. Many also call the cows “hairy cows” due to their thick coats.

In Scotland, they call one of these a “Highland Coo”. My boss once told me I was like a “Coo with a gun”! I think that meant useless, lol. They are very large and sturdy, but also the friendliest cattle I’ve ever been around. They have fur like a Border Collie. When it gets all muddy, just wait for it to dry, and it just wipes off clean and soft. I’ve seen a few here in N.E. Ga, but seem to be pets. Same colour hair as mine!

Belted Galloway Cows drink until they get home

      http://boxford.wickedlocal.com/x1898615749/Bovine-beer-bash-in-Boxford
Police were called to Main Street, Boxford for an animal complaint Sunday night that involved a half-dozen cows on a drinking spree. The Boxford police had their hands full when a call came into the station at 9:11 p.m. concerning six black-and-white cows on the loose.
“I found evidence of their whereabouts and followed them down Main Street,” said Lt. Riter, who said he stayed behind them in the cruiser, to keep them safe while he contacted the owner. “At that point, the cows decided to run behind a Main Street house where there was a party of young adult females in the backyard,” recalled Lt. Riter. “I could hear them [the girls] screaming in the backyard and I hoped they weren’t getting trampled,” said Riter. He witnessed about 10-13 young people run from a picnic table where they had been drinking beer when the cows arrived. The young women all jumped up on the rear deck of the house to avoid contact with the cows. “The young women were absolutely in shock,” added Riter, who said that they were mostly from out of town and not used to the rural surroundings of Boxford.

Meanwhile, the party cows were helping themselves to the beer, knocking the beer-filled cups off the table. “I saw one cow drinking the beer on its way down as it spilled off the table,” the lieutenant said. “Some of the cows were also picking through the empties in the recycling bin,” said Lt. Riter. “They just went in and helped themselves.” Riter jokingly speculated that the cows might have worked up a thirst after their long walk from their home field on Maple Avenue to the Main Street party house.

After the owner of the cows arrived on the scene, the cows were herded back to their field on Maple Avenue. It took about an hour and 10 minutes to make the trip, said Riter. When he was first received a picture of the cows via cell phone, Police Chief Michael Murphy thought they were deer. But then he realized, no, “It’s just a bunch of cows having a few beers.”
Selectman Peter Perkins and his wife Beverly pitched in Sunday night to help corral the cows. I was listening on the scanner when the call came in,” recalled Perkins, who lives near the cow farm. “When I went outside, I saw the owner looking for his cows and the three of us got in the car and headed toward Main Street.”
“Because the cows were having such a good time at the [party] house, it was hard to get them to leave,” said Perkins. “Once we got them started, there was a lot of hollering and yelling to keep them moving. We had a cruiser positioned at the front and back of the cows.” Noting that he was wearing his worn-out LL Bean slippers, Perkins, a marathoner runner, said they were moving at a very fast pace. “I was thinking — if we stop we’ll lose them.” “It was an exciting way to end a Sunday night in Boxford,” commented Perkins who added, “It was just like the old Boxford.”
      —————
Meanwhile the cows owner said “well they’re young cows” (He really did). Riiiiight! They dindu nuttin! They’re just young cows! 😉

Dairy cows or pet cows are generally friendlier, to use an expression, then are range cows that are left by themselves to graze. Dairy and pet cows get more handling and direct attention and are less defensive than ‘free range’ cattle…then there are the bulls, no amount of handling makes them trustworthy.

Ex-wives please refrain from taking this in a whole ‘nuther direction.

Here is an important article. This goes hand-in-hand with Soros’s Sec. of State project.
“George Soros Floods Local DA Races With $1.7M in Philadelphia,”
by Joe Schoffstall, Washington Free Beacon, August 25, 2017
Soros has generously funded a number of district attorney races throughout the United States in recent years via political action committees that tend to shut down after each election. Soros gave nearly $1.7 million to a political action committee run by his longtime treasurer to aid a Democrat who is running for the district attorney position in Philadelphia, Pa., the latest in a series of such expenditures. Beth Grossman, a prosecutor who is the Republican nominee for district attorney in Philadelphia, said he’s (Soros)an outside individual who knows nothing about Philadelphia and its specific public safety issues or whatever public safety crisis it’s facing comes in with his agenda and backs a far-left candidate who has never prosecuted a criminal case in his 30 year career as a criminal defense attorney, Everyone is entitled to the best defense that they can get, but this individual, my opponent, has also sued the Philadelphia police department in the city over 75 times and he dislikes law enforcement.” Grossman went on to say that the role of the district attorney’s office is to enforce laws and not to conduct a “grand social experiment.” “He [Soros] blows into town—he dumps millions of dollars into this. There are volunteers—I don’t know whether he pays them or where they come from—who come in and try to get people to the polls and pass out literature, and then they leave town. I have concerns, if he gets elected, my opponent, I don’t want us to turn into a Baltimore,” said Grossman. “I don’t want us to turn into a Chicago.

I once suggested that an effectivevtorture at Gitmo might be to stock the library with nothing but Arabic translations of his works written after about 1990. For hard corp holdouts they could show nothing but movies based on his books.

To me King’s later books are to the horror-fantasy genre what fast food is to fine dining…but then I’m not seeing a lotta folks switching from Mickey Ds and BK to Ruth’s Chris so I guess King’s just catering to his flock…will his next book come with fries? I’m presuming his flock includes a lot of Hillary supporters that feel it’s easier to eat what you’re served as enough mustard and catsup will cover anything, convenience outweighs quality so they’ll be well served.
BTW, a Boston College prof has already blasted ‘It’ as non-ptogressive, non-PC. http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/28/scholar-stephen-kings-it-is-bad-because-its-full-of-white-straight-able-bodied-males/
Expect profuse apologies from King soon, possibly in the form of a novel where the protagonist is a transgender minority with a disability. He/she/it will fight white, straight, cisgender oppression by escaping pursuers thru ducking into a gender neutral bathroom.

Lord in heaven…local news is saying that the Corps of Engineers office in NOLA has no plans yet to open spillways to lower the levels of dams and reservoirs as has happened in Houston. What the Corps spojesman said at the presser, when asked by a newsperson obviously unfamiliar with the area, was that they do not have dams or reservoirs in or around New Orleans. How the news is made.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

And, Lord, we pray for the people of Texas.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

This is a Gibson Chet Atkins CEC nylon STRING. This one has to equal cutaways to accommodate this greatly gifted left handed musician. The guitar was presented to him from Gibson at the request of George Benson.

Phenomenal performer. Never heard of him.
