This has been one of America’s biggest problems for years and a big pain in the butt for me.
Not only is the red tape a problem, but monies to do the projects are. The federal government & state governments keep raising taxes saying its to fix our infrastructures yet the monies keep going out to everything and anything but.
H3LL look at most of the state lotteries that were started under the pretense of being for the states children and their education. However, if you look at the trails of the lottery money you will find that a good majority of those lottery profits go towards education.

Wasn’t there money set up for infrastructure under Obama. And, NOTHING got done. I don’t even know of anything that was being discussed. Shovel ready indeed! I bet no one knows where that money is now.

We have had so many tax increases, its not funny.
I think that the original reason for state and federal gas taxes was to finance the upkeep of America’s infrastructure, or at least these are the lies that the politicians use to get support for these taxes.
I have to laugh everyday I go to work now….We had construction to fix the potholes from winter weather on about 10 miles of the small highway i travel. I was actually very happy to see it, yet now that its over I wonder what the H3LL it was for. They left at least a 1/2 dozen potholes unfixed.

Sorry it was meant to say you will find that a good majority of those lottery profits ***DON’T**** go towards education.
I also forgot to say, that I have been wondering why we have all these Trillions to fix other countries and take care of non-Americans while our country is falling apart literally.

Well, silly, they were trying to turn the U.S. into a third world country. It was part of the plan, so we couldn’t fix anything. 🙄

I do know from personal experience that California, Oregon and Washington got the lottery approval with promises of 100% of the profits to be for the state’s education.
If you look at the lottery profits of these states you will find that they probably don’t even use 50% of the profits for education.
I will make a bet that its the same with the gas tax and license fees that states keep saying will be used for infrastructure.

I think what they do is put the money in the general fund, then whatever they spend is said to come from lottery/gas tax etc.

I remember reading about funds that came from suits that were supposed to go to victims or something. A lot of that money under Obama (and maybe other Presidents) got siphoned off for other things, like Planned Parenthood and black groups.

That was Eric Holder and the Justice Department. I did a couple of posts about it. Jeff Sessions put a stop to it.

Hey one of the main reasons I am still working even though only part time is that I don’t know how long SS will last.
It really ticks the H3LL out of me that SS might go broke yet not Welfare, especially when one considers that about 1/3 of the people on the welfare rolls are Illegals and and other non-Americans.

The entire nation would have to go under in order for Social Security obligations to cease. What we need is more folk in the work place. Since SS is rather like a ponzi scheme, younger workers are essentially paying SS taxes so us older recipients continue to receive what we’ve put in. The system works fine unless there is an economic collapse putting a huge percentage of adults out of work.

There are so many ways to reform Social Security, but no one will ever have the guts to put them in place. Putting all government workers, including Congress, on SS is a start. No special deals or pensions for any of them.

The key to retirement is to put as much cash away as possible in an interest bearing account and then invest a certain percentage. If you get the maximum SS payments, they are quite livable for necessities and a few luxuries, depending upon where you live. The extra money is for vacations, a new vehicle every couple of years, emergency medical expenses not covered by Medicare, and, of course, for the members of your family who may be having a hard time. Living frugally is totally doable; living check to check is harrowing; readily available cash is comforting.

That’s what I did for a couple of years. Then I got sick of the B.S. once and for all, and I quit.

well I have the perfect retirement job, except for the politics. I am helping people get a GED.
I work 2 days a week, 43 weeks a year. other 9 weeks are divided into other breaks. Even if I worked 40 hours a week at a some minimum wage job I wouldn’t make 1/2 of what I make. No way would I find another job like this, if I had to so I’m better off staying with it, even when the politics of the job get to me. Hey my education department are about the only idiot liberals, so I just don’t talk politics with them. Even if you include them, the liberals where I work are most likely way under 10% of the total employees.

Similar story here. I was working 2-1/2 days a week, but more weeks than you are, at my previous full-time job, with benefits included, and 2 weeks paid vacation, same rate of pay as prior to retirement. ADD: I was almost 68 when I quit for good.

Pokes the corrupt and evil Senator McCain in the eye.

    “I’m not finished fake news.”

And I spat the water out of my mouth with laughter when some indignant fainting salts moron posing as a journalist asked ”Are you against the confederacy????”

“George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave owners.”

What a frickin’ Commander in Chief.

Has anyone else noticed that President Trump has turned “Excuse me” into a powerful silencing tool? Really the whole pool falls deadly silent when he says it.

Pavlov and his dogs. I hope someday he tells Jim Acosta to roll over.
