We had the same two swans who would raise their brood every year on the lake. I believe they finally passed away. The same younger couple has been coming for the about the last 4 years? They raise their babies and move someplace with open water for the winter.
This year they have been very standoffish, they started with at least 3 cygnets and are now down to just one and he doesn’t look too healthy. He is smaller than average and his body is really not keeping pace with his bill.

Sounds like they may have parasites, any chances of getting Fish & Wildlife to work with them?
LikeLiked by 2 people
No idea. Fish and Wildlife would probably not get involved (in a good way) because they are Mute Swans and they are considered an invasive species.
The parents are healthy. I don’t know how big/old the babies were that have already disappeared.

Latter day prog elitists…I’ve got rope (mentioned that b4) and a few spare cans of gas. Someone cut a fire lane and bring over a lamppost and we’re good to go. I had relatives that went thru the Blitz/Battle of Britain in London and came over here as they saw England tilting to the Left. Best we can hope for is the government decides that progs and the PC Corpse are really varmints and declare an open season, either sex and no bag limit leveling. Before they do it to us…
BTW, the article opened a dusty window:

This, or civilized Britain doesn’t survive.

That’s the reason we moved to the U.S.A. Britain isn’t civilized as it once was, and it’s getting that way here. We still have friends and family in Britain, and they all say it’s gotten much worse since we left in 1997. My DH misses it the way it used to be in his youth, but he knows it’s not that way any longer. Sad!

Britain never stood a chance…they boil all their meat…no one cooks right over there…and blood pudding…right up there with Haggis….
LikeLike
Actually, sliced Haggis, fried, on a morning roll with “Broon” sauce is magic! Blood pudding is made all over Europe, esp in Germany. They roast beef over an open fire using a spit that turns it like a rotisserie Chicken. Scotland has the best smoked fish, and the cow’s milk tastes like it did in the old days before we started giving the “Coos” so much hormones and crap! Scotland and England have the best fish and chips in the world! I’ve tried fish and chips from coast to coast in this country, and nobody could do it better.
They still deliver milk and eggs to the front door every morning, and the milk is in glass jars with cream rising to the top.
Europe doesn’t let anyone put preservatives, and additives(chemicals) in the food and even processed food like kid’s cereal and Kraft Mac and Cheese use totally different recipes for their products there, but they still poison OUR food we eat because we are too stupid to make them stop.
I believe this “U.K. food is awful” gossip was started just so we would not know how bad off our food really is.

If you read Matt Brackens new book, there will be a trigger, mass civilian casualties event, then the Army will step in. In addition, PZ developed a thesis on the mass invasion. Using TET ’68 as the template. Mary In my humble opinion these senecios are possible. Either way the Britain and Europe we knew are lost.

This singer/guitarist/composer has an unusual but rather appealing voice. Rodriguez is 75 and lives in Detroit. His music was not well received outside the counterculture and he left the music industry in the early 70s, appearing again in the 90s after discovering he unusually had a huge fan base in Australia and South Africa.
I THINK OF YOU by Sixto Rodriguez
Just a song we shared, I’ll hear
Brings memories back when you were here
Of your smile, your easy laughter
Of your kiss, those moments after
I think of you
And think of you
And think of you
Of the dreams we dreamt together
Of the love we vowed would never
Melt like snowflakes in the sun
My days now end as they begun
With thoughts of you
And I think of you
And think of you
Down the streets I walked with you
Seeing others doing things we do
Now these thoughts are haunting me
Of how complete I used to be
And in these times that we’re apart
I’ll hear this song that breaks my heart
And think of you
And I think of you
And think of you
And think of you
And I do
One article says, “He has no regrets about the lost years of his music career. ‘I don’t mind the way it went,’ he says. ‘You can’t fix that kind of stuff. You can’t really go back in time and change things. I’m a lucky kid in a lot of ways. I’ve seen a lot of the world over the past few years. I’ve got a couple more good years, I think.’

Can you see the wise man simply living, loving, quietly… til the sun turns black?
It’s hard to pick one, though, as with many artists.
If you’re in a dark, pensive mood, that album is great if you want to stay in a dark, pensive mood. His other albums are decidedly different from each other in mood and feel.
Dude is from Nashua, NH. Quite an impressive musician. His live stuff on YouTube is astounding, especially the BBC show.

This is a musician I discovered recently…most extraordinary…Dmitry Sinkovsky
Everything about him is startling, from his violin virtuosity, to his bright blue eyes, to his conducting, to his disconcertingly extraordinary voice–what is called a natural (not falsetto) countertenor–which means the range of a mezzo soprano/sometimes even up to soprano.

So much incredible talent out there, some known and many, many unknown. A good friend of mine is a wonderfully talented pianist with just a few lessons as a child.
In the summertime she would open her condo windows to let the evening breeze blow in. Sometimes she would casually play her piano for a short time. On one occasion when she finished about a half hour of playing, she heard clapping outside. The neighbors had gathered to listen to her play the piano with such sweetness they were touched.
We always tell her she should have become a professional, but her comment invariably is that hers is a minor talent. It isn’t and everyone who hears her musicianship and the expressiveness she puts into her work knows that.

Tonight at work was hard. Chef was a raving angry lunatic, bringing the whole house down instead of lifting it up, as usual when he gets more than five tickets on the printer. I see him becoming who I was, and it makes me cry.
Later, I walk outside and see my friend with the brain tumor/aneurism, he’s had a minor seizure and had climbed over a wall into the back warehouse (the door was locked, but it’s not a full wall) and was standing outside the back door. He didn’t even know my name. I walked back in and asked Chef to go talk with him, because Chef has been his friend for a long time, longer than me, and he needed something familiar to bring him back.
Tonight was one of those nights that hit me, repeatedly, with a giant hammer that has “Everyone is Troubled Somehow” inscribed on it.
He didn’t even know my name. He asked me, “What’s your name? Do I know you?” I told him, shook his hand and said “I’m your friend” and gave him a hug. That’s when I went in and told Chef, “Go talk to this man.”
An hour or more later he was back to his normal, incredibly intelligent self.
I told Chef later, when he left and I was sitting on a 5-gallon bucket out back, “What the F do we have to complain about? We have our minds still.”
It’s all I can do not to cry.

I pray that God takes Chef’s voice away for three months, like He did mine. Is it wrong that I pray that? It worked for me. It’s not fun watching your friend slide down the hill that you managed to climb up. I pray that God gives me the right words to say.

By the way one of the times Josiah startled awake here at the hospital he decided that he wanted more bouillon/broth so I went across the hall to get it for him. I think he’d already been looking at some books he’d brought with a history focus for a few minutes by then. I come back in the room & an alternate nurse is doing data entry on the bedside computer while he’s talking like 100 miles an hour about the French and Indian War, some of its causes, & who sided with the Mohawk & who sided with the Algonquin…because that’s what we all go on about when startled awake around 4am & have a beautiful stranger standing by the bed.
Also, I’m currently enjoying the lovely pastel sunrise that has had some lighter versions of the colors that were on full display with last night’s sunset (& haven’t yet slept from the setting of the sun to the rising of the same–isn’t that the converse of the scripture?)! The doctors doing rounds should be here soon so hopefully Josiah will get real food made available & we can order him some breakfast…& I’ll attempt to snatch a couple of winks while we wait for the food to come…we’ll see.
Hope all of you have a wonderful & blessed Friday & Amazing Weekend! Thanks again for praying for us. God Bless!

How Trump can win the ObamaCare fight: End the “friends and cronies” exemption for Congress
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017/07/28/how-trump-can-win-obamacare-fight-end-friends-and-cronies-exemption-for-congress.amp.html
With a mere stroke of his pen, President Trump could end the exemption that President Obama gave members of Congress and their staffs that makes them the only participants in the ObamaCare exchanges to receive generous subsidies from their employer (the American people) to pay for their health insurance. Nothing would better focus Congress’ attention on changing ObamaCare than being trapped in it just like other Americans.
When Vice President Pence was asked about the special exemption for Congress by Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday, he lamented that it was “pretty typical” for there to be “one set of rules for the American people and another for the political class here in our nation’s capital.” But he wouldn’t be pinned down over whether the Trump administration would act: “It would be (President Trump’s) decision to rescind that special treatment for members of Congress and their staffs,” he told Carlson.
Well, it’s about time. Ending the special perk funded by taxpayers may represent the only leverage President Trump has to fulfill his promise to repeal ObamaCare.

Don’t hate me.
An Englishman is being shown around a Scottish hospital.
At the end of his visit, he is shown into a ward with a number of patients who show no obvious signs of injury. He goes to examine the first man he sees, and the man proclaims:
Fair fa’ yer honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain e’ the puddin’ race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,

The Englishman, somewhat taken aback, goes to the next patient, and immediately the patient launches into:
Some hae meat, and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit.
This continues with the next patient:
Wee sleekit cow’rin tim’rous beastie,
O what a panic’s in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
wi’ bickering brattle.
I wad be laith to run and chase thee,

Reminds me of several historical TV series from the 80s which came from Japan with no subtitles. Several starred the wonderful Ken Watanabe before he came to American fame in THE LAST SAMURAI (if you’ve never seen this film, be sure to get a copy). I watched every episode even though I couldn’t understand the dialogue or get the gist of what was happening, though you could sort of tell by the visual…had to ask a friend who spoke Japanese what the story plots were. Try training a three-legged cat to “meow” when he wants out. I did. Before he would wait until I woke up in the morning, and got out of bed, and then he would meow.
I sat next to him and the door, looked at him, and said “MEOW!” and opened the door. I did this about ten times in a row. Now he meows at 4 in the morning when he wants out, instead of waiting until 6 when I put my feet on the floor, because he knows that “meow” means the door opens. It worked! Catsplaining.

That’s funny – are you ever tempted to turn away from where you suspect she is – so that you open your eye without getting swatted?

That is not the way I trained Tucker, btw. I hung the bells (string of Indian brass bells) close to the gate from the kitchen to the backdoor, but not so close that it would be brushed against accidentally. Next, I ring the bell every time I let him outside. I was in no hurry to get results, but he got the connection between the bell ringing and the back door being opened.

Lucky just watched how we let him out and one day he figured out all he had to do was hit the flipper door handle and…viola…he’s out. Unfortunately that means the other three also get out and they all head for the mud, water and Indian take-out compost pile.

I will be the first to admit that Twitter is not the brightest part of the Internet, but either the Right is more infested with RINOS then I first thought or I’m going nuts.
Somehow, because John McCain is a veteran and has cancer, it’s wrong to call him out for being the lying snake-in-the-grass that he is. I’m glad he served. Really. But as Ann Coulter once noted that John Kerry spent a lot of time crowing about his military service and that most of the veterans she knows don’t really do that. Indeed, I was in college before I found out that my Aunt had been in the military. Several friend at college had been in the military and we did talk about that, mostly about how it shaped their perspective on things now. But they never brought out it as their version of the race card and that is what McCain’s military service looks more like to me every day: it’s his version of the race card and if you don’t agree with him why how dare you attack someone who defended this country.
Second, i would never wish cancer on anyone, but I don’t know what his having cancer has to do with his being a snake-in-the-grass. Back when he first went to the Mayo Clinic for a “clot removal” someone on Twitter noted that you don’t see a lot of veterans going to the Mayo clinic. I never quite overcame that thought. How many veterans stuck in the VA health system died of cancer without ever knowing they had it because they simply couldn’t get in to see a doctor because the VA “lost” their paperwork or cancelled their appointment? And he just screwed the nation over by refusing to vote for a repeal. How many cancer patients lost their insurance because of O-care? Why does McCain’s cancer diagnosis shield him from criticism?
John McCain, who as I am frequently reminded is a veteran, could have used his status as a veteran to become a voice working on reforming the VA. He could have voted to repeal O-care. But he didn’t, twice. But I am watching people get attacked on Twitter for calling McCain out for his outright hypocritical behavior (hey does the Mayo clinic accept Obamacare?). Well, he is a hypocrite and he made the choice to be one. And I might be evil for saying it, but I’m not sorry I said it.

Thank you.
Two separate issues, and those who link them should be asked: “So – of the people you know in your life who have or have had cancer [or if you have had cancer] was it because a) they/you were/are a jerk and b) someone in their lives who hates them hoped they would get cancer?”
The inability or unwillingness to THINK is a really significant, foundational, and possibly terminal, issue in our nation.

If this is direct response to me – I wasn’t aware that anyone thought he should be immune from criticism because he has cancer. I’ve seen many tying the fact that they are glad he has cancer and that they have wished for something bad to happen to him.
It interests me that if he had just voted yes last night, all of that hate and vengeful presumption would not have been expressed today.
His cancer and his hypocrisy are two separate issues as far as I’m concerned, and ought not be jointed together either pro or con.

It’s not a response to you, just something I noticed about Twitter this morning. Over there, anyone who maligns McCain is a scumbag trying to pick on someone with cancer (or attacking a POW, you know, whichever card works).
I don’t accept his diagnosis as an excuse for what he did so it was astonishing to me the number of people who reacted badly when McCain was called out for his behavior.

According to idiots on Twitter, you’re not allowed to say anything about McCain at all because that would be maligning someone who had cancer. I don’t care about his diagnosis, I care about what he did, but some prescient people over there have noted and I believe correctly so that cancer will be his new card to play whenever someone maligns him for anything. His veteran status card might have exceeded shelf life, I dunno.

If ever there needed to be forceful interventional protests, now is the time. When it is legal to murder a child in such a way, the time has come for us to act.
What next? I don’t know, but I’m thinking. Doing nothing is allowing evil to continue.

Dear Stellarites,
Josiah & I are nearing the time to leave the hospital today! I’ve posted what should be our last hospital-based update on the CTH Prayer Request page here:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2011/02/01/prayer-requests-9/
We’ve really appreciated your prayers for us & interest in our situation. Thanks so much for your beautiful expressions of faith, understanding, & even empathy. Those of you have shared some personal details about your own journeys have also been such a blessing & encouragement to me in particular.
Thanks, again for your many prayers for Josiah & I…& we would appreciate any further prayer as the Lord may bring our situation to mind in the coming days as we are adjusting to dealing with his current medical status on the home front.
May the Lord Richly Bless You All, Blessings, in Christ, Valerie

Speaking for myself alone, but probably not:
Our interest in your situation is because you landed here, in this space. God blessed us with you, and so we can only care, and pray for you and yours. It is what we do.
Like you said earlier, paraphrasing, our spirits know each others’ spirits.
And God works. It’s what He does.
Roll on Jehovah thy way, And trust upon Him, and He worketh,
— Psalm 37:5 (Young’s Literal Translation).
Think about that metaphor, as if your “way” is a massive boulder. Once you commit to rolling it down the hill, you let go. There’s nothing else you can do, because it’s a giant boulder, and you rolled it in one direction. You’ve given it to God. He worketh. Get out of the way and pray. He’s got this.
Young’s Literal is the only translation that uses the word “Roll” in this verse, and it works.
I think someone at CTH made a post about that, years back. Or maybe it was Ann Barnhardt. I can’t remember.

Robert Mueller’s Role in Clinton Scheme to Sell 20 Percent of US Uranium to Russia
Special Counselor Mueller a Clinton Foundation “criminal fixer” in Uranium One scam?
https://www.infowars.com/robert-muellers-role-in-clinton-scheme-to-sell-20-percent-of-us-uranium-to-russia/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=SocialWarfare
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On May 17, the day Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as Special Counsel charged with investigating possible “Russian collusion” with President Trump’s campaign, Julian Assange at WikiLeaks tweeted a WikiLeaks released State Department cable documenting that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ordered Mueller to deliver a sample of stolen Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU) to Russia in 2009.
Assange’s email signaled an investigation is needed into Mueller and his complex involvement with Russia and Uranium One, the company Bill Clinton promoted with Canadian entrepreneur Frank Giustra while Hillary Clinton served as Obama secretary of state in a criminal saga that ended up with Secretary Clinton voting to give the Russian State Atomic Nuclear Energy Agency, Rosatom, control of approximately 20 percent of all uranium holdings in the United States…

I quoted this above, but here’s the context:
5 Roll on Jehovah thy way, And trust upon Him, and He worketh,
6 And hath brought out as light thy righteousness, And thy judgment as noon-day.
7 Be silent for Jehovah, and stay thyself for Him, Do not fret because of him Who is making prosperous his way, Because of a man doing wicked devices. Psalm 37-5-7 (Young’s Literal Translation)
It seems appropriate, and timely, somehow. Beautiful, too.
Don’t worry about Algore. Hillary. Mueller. The Obamas. John McCain.
“Stay thyself for Him.”

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.

I read this excellent essay the other day, and ran across it again tonight. As the author says,
Why am I telling you all this? Because I fear that, except for a few of us remaining graybeards and some immigrants from the world’s manifold tyrannies and anarchies, most Americans are too young to remember, even vicariously, the ills that the world can inflict and the effort it takes to withstand and restrain them. They have studied no history, so not only can they not distinguish Napoleon from Hitler, but also they have no conception of how many ills mankind has suffered or inflicted on itself and how heroic has been the effort of the great, the wise, and the good over the centuries to advance the world’s enlightenment and civilization—efforts that the young have learned to scorn as the self-interested machinations of dead white men to maintain their dominance. While young people are examining their belly buttons for microaggressions, real evil still haunts the world, still inheres in human nature; and those who don’t know this are at risk of being ambushed and crushed by it.
See No Evil?
Then it will take you by surprise.

And yet, here they are, just as she predicted. White babies need not apply.
It’s just the ongoing White Genocide. Hitler 2 point 0.
The Death Panels have their list of who is worthy of protection, and in which order.
I hope that the white folks on these panels see their own kids denied care, because they are in the wrong demographic. I want to hear their lamentations and wailing, when their “priveleged” kids get denied care, as they set out to do by favoring everyone but their nation’s People.
As they cry over their white babies, I want to give them a middle finger or two. Suck it up, buttercup. You made this bed — sleep in it.

I saw the summation of amdiscussion a man had with one of his liberal black friends online last night. I hope he rethinks whomhe calls friend after that conversation.
They got into a talk about her support of Hillary. Much not relevant to what bothers me, skipping that part. Then he asks her how she can stomach the abortion clinics clearly aimed at black people. About how it was supposed to be safe, legal, and rare, but it’s not rare at all.
Apparently she enthusiastically goes all in, telling him, yes, we need abortion, especially we want you white people aborting every one of your kids. We have abortion and eventually that is how we will put you in the minority and things will turn around for us, when we finally have control. And we want you to kill those children.
I don’t know how he could have kept from being sick, literally.
