    osted a piece earler this evening on CTH regarding McCain…it was about the 512th post so I don’t think it’s gonna get read much but the gist is:
    The irony is McCain lurchig out of his hospital bed to cast his vote on the healthcare bill. McCain’s retired military and an ex-POW to boot, a home run in the VA system, yet which hospital did he have treat him….the Phoenix Mayo Clinic. He’s been a big VA supporter, pushing for change and better conditions ans as a Senator had he decided to come into the bureaicratic center of excellence for treatment they’d have rolled his gurney over the prostrate bodies of waiting vets to get him to the head of the line…yet he went to the Mayo.
    The Phoenix VA was the hospital that made national news when 40 vets died waiting for treatment while others on ‘special’ lists rolled right on over them into the clinics. The big veteran’s hospital in the capital city in the state he represents as a retired officer and ex-POW and he doesn’t trust it enough to use it; good enough for the comman rabble vets though.He goes to Mayo.
    This guy has an almost genetic propensity for selling out vets.

      It offended me when he pointed out that the President was not over Congress but they were equal to him. What offended me was that he was talking about Congress not doing their job and he threw that in just to be able to say it.

      with the history of the Phoenix VA…I would have paid lots of money if McCain had gone there and not used up Mayo resources.

      McCain needs his feeding tube removed and the media ventilator switched off….then just turn up soft music and dim the lights and wait for the gurgles to stop.

        In the Capital building, along with the Congressional restaurant, gymnasium and other appurtenances the Great Unwashed have to pay for is a state-of-the-art medical facility (and satellite clinics) run by the Navy and catering to Congress. If the malady is serious enough there’s a special wing at Walter Reed catering to them and they can also use Bethesda. No wonder they’re having problems solving medical problems for their mouth-breathing underlings, they don’t have any medical problems.

        An amazing chapter in an amazing book of the Bible, indeed. When me and my bro were little kids, fourth grade or so, my Dad realized that spankings weren’t effective any more, so, when we disobeyed or otherwise acted up, we had to write the chapter of proverbs, sitting at the kitchen table, by hand and in cursive, which corresponded to the day of the month. How convenient that there are 31 chapters! And if they were short chapters, we had to write them twice, or three times.

        I still thank him for this “punishment”.

                I’m a firm believer in home schooling and was able to with my younger DD. Now I’m praying I can convince my other DD to homeschool her son when the time comes.

                …and yet, the verse is truth. I was sent to not only Public School, but Ghetto Public School, with an all-Vibrant, anti-nonvibrant school board.

                …and yet, the verse proved true, and does so constantly, despite my attempted full-on Leftist indoctrination by overpaid, overpowered vibrants for my entire schooling.

                It’s why I’m glad my dad did that. It’s like inoculation. Actually, it IS inoculation. That’s what the verse actually implies.

                Everything in Proverbs, which chapter I probably wrote entirely more than once when I was 7 years old, has proven true over the course of my life. Everything the Leftists who “educated” me about for the next ten years has been proven false. That couplet of truths itself proves the verse to be true.

                So do Trayvon and Mike Brown. They were also carefully trained up as children, in the way they should go — albeit by evil people — and they did not depart from it.

    House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who was critically wounded in a shooting at a baseball practice last month, has been discharged from a Washington hospital.

    MedStar Washington Hospital Center said Wednesday that the six-term Louisiana Republican was released from the hospital on Tuesday and is beginning “intensive inpatient rehabilitation.” It did not identify the rehabilitation facility.

    “Congressman Steve Scalise has made excellent progress in his recovery from a life-threatening gunshot wound six weeks ago,” the hospital said.

    Meanwhile, the ostensibly human piece of crap who shot him is rotting in his grave. Good, I say.

    A guy on twitter just won the internet for the day. People were complaining about the tranny decision. The military would not spend money on them , but would spend it on the F35. The response was: At least an F35 doesn’t think it is a helicopter!

        Did not hear that one! The military is not a social experiment! People are kept out of the military for a variety of problems. Mental and physical health, low test scores, face tattoos, criminal records, height, weight, and many others. I don’t see them raising a stink!

              There was a psychologist/psychiatrist on FOX a few months back who said that the suicide rate was pretty much the same for a person who thinks they are the wrong gender and does nothing about it and the one who thinks they are and goes through the surgery. She was very concerned about what the doctors are pushing now.

              It has been my experience that many things I wanted very much did not turn out to be good for me at all. I do thank God for the things I didn’t get, and I feel blessed that most of the shouldn’t haves in my life were reversible, or at least not permanently damaging.

              In the adult, grown up, real world, some of our problems do not have happily ever after solutions. Hell, even in children’s worlds they don’t. Sometimes getting what we want does not give us what we deceived ourselves into believing we would get.

              I believe a great many of people’s and society’s problems are the result of people being unable to accept that reality. Some people get divorced because they think their marriage is horrible, but it never occurred to them to work at it. Next marriage they have the same problem. Women spend a fortune on plastic surgery and Botox and still grow old. Men chase younger women and are still over the hill, and now they look stupid as well as old and pathetic. Mothers murder babies only to find out that they still aren’t footloose and fancy free, and now they have a hole inside them that may grow into a cancer. Men and women have convinced themselves they can lead debauched lives and feel happy and content, only to lose pieces of themselves they never knew they had until they face emptiness and despair in the mirror. Men can want to be women, women can want to be men. It can never happen, and failing to deal with that reality only multiplies the miseries.

              Life can never be everything we want. Some miss it by a mile, others not so much. But we all seem to share the trait of being our own worst enemy at times.

                When I was 10-12 years of age, playing around with my computers that dad bought us for more money than his car, while attending a ghetto school where I was a nerd minority, the things I “wanted very much” were all the videogames ever made, and to be left alone.

                I got it, in spades, and exponentially greater than I ever thought I would.

                And I suck at playing videogames. It’s all I wanted, then, though.

                I thank God every day for what I have, but I remain angry at my young self.

                I wish, sometimes, I had wanted, at that age, to be able to take apart an engine and put it back together, or to hunt and track and retrieve and process a deer, or to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

                I thank God every day, though. I know a few people who have been shot. Who have fallen off cliffs and lived, who have lost wives to cancer, who have broken every bone in their body and became Chefs.

                I broke a finger bone once, the backside of the hand behind the pinky, and two bones in my toes from kicking a ping-pong table with my unshod foot at eleven.

                God gave me what I asked for in the mid-80s, though.

                He still uses me.

                  I suck at all of them. Except Tetris™.

                  I got what I wished for. Alone, and sampled tens of thousands of video games, from the days of Crowther’s Adventure to Atari 2600 and Intellivision™ to 8-bit to 16-bit to 32-bit, to Atari’s fake-64-bit (4 16-bits in line) to Nintendo’s 64-bit to PC to next-gen-now.

                  We’ve gone plaid. So to speak. I’ve played every game, emulated, ever made. At 6x resolution. Since NES emulation was even a thing. I can’t play any of them well, nor can I play my legit paid games well. They are a distraction. They are me trying feebly to keep up. I had a Timex/Sinclair 1000 as a kid. Membrane keyboard. Insane. Insane in the membrane.

                    I loved to play Sudoku on my Kindle. But, I got a new, nifty, updated Kindle and can’t do much with it. My other one had a keyboard and I could remember how to find things. On this one, it is a touch thing, you have to remember how to get to things. I never use it anymore. 🙂 I hate technology.

              The whole thing reminds me of the Electric Door Lock Syndrome, whereupon non-ferals activating an electric car door lock within hearing range of a group of ferals at an intersection causes an immediate violent reaction from the group, causing them to want to beat your butt into a medically-induced coma for daring to fear them or think that they may not be sane.

              It sure will. My dad worked in Benton Harbor when it was at it’s ghetto low point. Before school, Mom drove him to work, right downtown, to the factory he worked at for more than a decade. Rolling into town in a Chevy Chevette or a Ford Escort, she always said, aptly, “Roll up the windows, kids, and lock the doors.” If the dindoos, the folks on the corner with their pants half-down, and the people with 40s on the stoops knew this, they would have proved us right, just to teach us a lesson.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

    Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

    Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

    Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.

    I pray for this guy every day, more than once. Everything in the article takes me back. I could have written this article. Heck, I could embellish it greatly and make it my own autobiography, with him and his buildings a set-piece, with my observations about healing, being healed, building, demolishing, cleaning, making a mess, caring, and ceasing to give a hoot. There’s a season to everything.

    It’s a well-written article, but it could be a hundred times longer.
