        Lake trout, the last couple of days, because the water just turned cold from the cold front. You filet a bluegill from an inland lake, use it as bait, and get the big ones that congregate near the piers. I really need to take up fishing.

        A friend of the kitchen brought us a bounty of Coho a few weeks ago. One of our line cooks blackened it slightly, and the whole crew ate quite well that night. Num-nums.

          I love blackened redfish, Paul Prudhomme was blackened fish’s godfather, nearly made the redfish extinct in the 80s when its popularity took off.
          He’d have a cast iron griddle he’d heat red hot, slather butter on and the kitcvhen would fill with smoke. The coating was near hot enough to cook the fillet without the flame and you could get your sinuses cleaned when that fish hit the griddle.
          No more Paul, only pretenders to the throne, but at least we could enjoy him while he was here. Only chef I ever met who could make nutria edible….OK, he made it so hot your ears bled but it was edible.

    So we were obliquely watching some PBS Martha Stewart show & she’s showing how to make various types of kebobs & keeps mentioning Saudi…At the end of the show Al Jazeera is listed as one of the sponsors (of that episode or her whole show?).

    Is even cooking now subject to civilization jihad???

    By the way, Al Jazeera’s (comforting) slogan was something like “we’re everywhere!” Wow!

    I love the picture of the Mackinac Bridge stella. I have a picture I took of it at Mackinaw City this spring as my phone wallpaper… And I have had to stop buying postcards of it too since I have too many of them.

    The Mackinac Bridge is the best.

    Well, just checked my Apple emoji offerings on my iPad and no Moslem emoji yet. PC sacrificial goat pundits are all atwitter with the reports of an Iranian teen who came up with an emoji wearing a hijab…though there are plenty of Moslem emojis out there if you lean in that direction. Big thing seems Apple’s picking it up.
    When are we going to get the realworld Moslem emojis? You know, throwing people tied to chairs off roofs, burning captives to death, decapitating innocent civilians, you know – the usual stuff.

          If there were a spark worthy of igniting a flame left in Great Britain we would not be talking about this baby, he would have been treated and valued.

          The worth of a society is very directly tied to its respect and value of each and every life.

          Feral thugs are valued and pacified. Terrorist Muslims are valued and protected. LBG militants with an agenda to destroy the foundation of society, marriage and family, are valued and worshipped even, their outright persecution of Christians becoming the law of the land. Illegal aliens are valued and have become almost a protected class receiving benefits far outstripping our veterans. Fourth and fifth generation welfare leech families are valued and protected, allowed to breed and destroy middle class prosperity by their violent lives and increasing usurpation of tax dollars we can ill afford.

          Heck, not too far from my own home heroin users are given free drugs.

          All this while we destroy and slaughter, and make no mistake about it, slaughter in absolutely brutal, hideous, painful ways babies, some of which weigh more than my recently born grandson does right now, babies who are viable, so alive that they have to be murdered after the abortion.

          We are a sick society.

      A group of people employed by the government has to make the decision on which get to live, and who must die.

      This happened in the 1930s in Germany.
