A year ago the proprietor of Lucky Ferals discovered “Stella” on her backsteps and began feeding her and some of the other cats from the feral community near her home. Unknown at the time, Stella had given birth and stashed the babies in the backyard. The vids contain the ongoing stories of the three cats she took into her home…Mom, Stella; sons, Splash and Simba.

Our Russian Blue mix was a feralish kitten. She’d been born around the local arboretum and would come for food but little else. She was about 6 months when we got her…wouldn’t let us carry her but she walked, like a dog, the 300-plus feet from the arboretum building to the truck and slowed my Mom to pick her up and sit in her lap. She settled in but was totally standoffish, as if we were staff and she owned the place. After about 4 years she finally is starting to sit in laps, sleep on the bed and act like we both may have a stake in the facility.
Feral cat who lives in garage and outside, and who showed up out of the clear blue, has decided that he likes being patted far more than acting feral. Pride and ferality goeth before three hots, a cot and a lotta pats.

BTW, the Border Collie licks the dickens out of the Rusdian Blue, leaving her fur….interesting. Cat doesn’t seem to mind it though, she doesn’t try to get away and doesn’t complain.

Stella’s picture reminded me of this little guy who I met on Washington Island, he and his buddy spend the Summers traveling about Green Bay and the Lake Michigan coast during the summer time. His buddy is a white kitty and they both roam freely in ports and always return before sail time.
I was really surprised that they stick to the nearby area and always return to the boat when called like a dog.
