He sought to prove that radio waves could cross the Atlantic. Through that hanging wire he heard the anticipated signal from across the ocean. I didn’t see the Jetson’s movie but I loved the cartoons as a kid.

I’d never heard the entire Who’s on First routine before, though I had heard snatches of it when I was little – I remember my grandfather laughing until tears rolled down his cheeks, and now I know why. Every day there was a baseball game, he sat in the booth in the kitchen he’d built and listen to the games after his retirement from the Chicago Northwestern RR. I sure do miss him.
