So with his past as a D.C. gadfly and hanger-on why would you think he’d come out of a Federal career with less or equal wealth than he went in with?

Bridgewater and Associates – where Comey worked before the FBI – is a $150 Billion hedgefund, first and foremost.

That’s a maybe first and foremost. Before that he and Loretta Lynch worked together at HBSC Bank and got into all kinds of mischief together, like doing clean-ups for the Clintons. (The info at the link I have read elsewhere, and this post condenses what I’ve read.)

The freeper post has links to source information. Didn’t know if I could repost it here. Feel free if Stella doesn’t mind. Comey’s tentacles come wide-spread.

Also, Comey is rated at Muckety at 93%, meaning he has more connections than 93% of the who’s-who of the Muckety database. The boy has gotten around some. Can’t do anything other than recommend Muckety’s interactive connectivity map, which requires Flash:

It’s the connections and under the table benefits, I’d guess. For years.

As part of the pack hunting Trump. Looks like the future of American politics, a battle regardless of who gets in. At some point we’re going to see Republican taxpayers going to the street with the hoards of Rat parasites while mixed groups of recent immigrants and their hangers-on siting on the sidelines waiting to feed on the carcasses.
Can’t help but look at our possible future as a mix of the best slum features of Latin America and the Mideast melting-potted into our major cities. Almost as if Ridley Scott does the terrorforming of future America, Blade Runner with overtones of cumin.

What a freaking ass. “We just had a conversation about civility”? Seriously?

Good for Goodlatte. That is disgusting on Richmond’s part and King was well ahead until he suggested Richmond might consider leaving.

I used to think Steve King was a good guy – I’ve watched him for a few years – but he seems to have outgrown his britches these days. Swamp gas. Richmond? There’s an absolute stereotype of a Black Lives Matter type activist, but I’ll give him this – he’s a rung above Waters or Cummings. Just the one rung.

His district is a gerrymandered creature designed to ensure a black rep. Previous rep was a Vietnamese Republican with, if I remember correctly, two doctorates. He was the first Republican elected to Congress in that district since 1991…Rep before him was Dollar Bill Jefferson, now in Federal prison.
Not a lotta Rhodes scholars in that district so you can guess how elections go…the Vietnamese Republican was a blip on the radar as The Faithful were not all back yet and the wranglers couldn’t get corral enough drones to punch the Rat button. Considering that it encases the 32nd most dangerous city in the US you gets what you gets.

Richmond Virginia’s young black mayor has decided not to take down the Confederate monuments there. He’s looking for new and exciting ways to negate what they stand for:

“RICHMOND — The young African American mayor of the one-time capital of the Confederacy vowed Thursday to confront his city’s towering tributes to Southern Civil War figures with words instead of wrecking balls.

Mayor Levar Stoney said he would not seek to remove the monuments lining the city’s most famous boulevard. Instead, he announced the formation of a commission to find other ways — new signage and perhaps additional monuments — to correct the “false narrative” conveyed by the statues that give Monument Avenue its name.

    Parts – Myth – Deception – Facts – Time

“Equal parts myth and deception, they were the ‘alternative facts’ of their time — a false narrative etched in stone and bronze more than 100 years ago — not only to lionize the architects and defenders of slavery, but to perpetuate the tyranny and terror of Jim Crow and reassert a new era of white supremacy,” Stoney said in a news conference at City Hall.”

There are a lot of ties between Michigan and that part of Florida. Paisley grew up around the local Baptist church, which my grandfather and his brother and their wives helped to found, after WW2, wherein they both served in Europe. My grandma, when she was in MI (they only went there in the winter months, of course) played the organ for years at that church, just up the road from my folks’ house. I grew up with a double decker organ with the bass foot pedals, foot volume control, and harmonic drawbars. I was privileged.

A second or third cousin of mine owned a pecan grove, for years, there. His progeny, who owned manufacturing plants in PA for years, just converted it into an orange grove. We had Christmas dinner there two years ago. Beautiful place.

I am itching to go. You have no idea. I’ve been looking at these four walls for ten years.

Why, dear God, have I never watched this guy before? Why? I’ve heard his name all my life, been told he’s a legend, never deigned to watch his act. Good stuff. I love how the older comedians just hinted, albeit strongly, at swearing and vulgarity, but never actually needed to go there. It’s punnier when they don’t. When my breakfast beer comes out my nose, you knowse it’s good. So many great lines.

                Astounding and amazing.

Again it boggles my mind that I’ve not listened to this guy, whose name I’ve heard since I was born. My idea of great comedians was always the trends. Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Sam Kinison (wish that guy was alive, he would not be afraid of Islam as a topic, and he died before it became a valid target for comedy… he would have fired shots heard ’round the world at it, and would have hit the bullseye.), and George Carlin.

Those were my intro to comedy, besides growing up on Johnny Carson and Redd Foxx.

But that was all vulgar and intentionally gross and base. Guys like Skelton were not. Somehow I missed him. Yes, I know he’s before my time, but I am a vociferous devourer of old comedy.

Paraphrasing Rachmaninoff, “There is enough comedy for a lifetime, but there is not enough lifetime for all comedy.”

I posted this last night on the open thread, and one thing that struck me about the caption under this photo is that it described everything fairly mundane in it — except the most interesting thing at the bottom, with a trail of what looks like air bubbles behind it.

NatGeo, what the heck is that underwater rocket-looking thing?

They leave the most interesting thing in the image out of the description.

Is every industry incompetent now, and SJW-converged?

I have a double-stack washer and dryer made by Frigidaire. The timers on both are digital, it’s some high-tech stuff. The timer will say — when you start the dryer, for instance — 48:00. Guess what? Those are not minutes. Those are some arbitrary unit of time, which changes all the time. It will read 05:00 and ten minutes later it says 02:00.

What the actual…. but hey! at least they have enough LGBT and POC working for them.

Who cares if they make a competent product? That’s secondary, if not tertiary.

A big “atta boy” for Chuck Grassley!

Republicans steamrolling Dems to confirm Trump judicial nominees
Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley, so far, signals a “get ‘er done” approach in the face of obstruction and delay tactics.

    http://legalinsurrection.com/2017/06/republicans-steamrolling-dems-to-confirm-trump-judicial-nominees/

While the media and Democrats are obsessed with increasingly bizarre Trump-Russia conspiracy theories, and failed attempts to flip Special Election congressional seats, an enormous change to the federal judiciary is well underway.

We have been covering this story, and the relative lack of media coverage, for months. Most recently, I wrote While you were focused on COMEY, Trump nominated another group of CONSERVATIVE Judges: …

It appears that Republicans in the Senate are moving rapidly on the nominations. And some liberal media is beginning to pay attention.

Huffington Post alerted readers earlier today, Donald Trump Is In The Perfect Position To Dramatically Remake The Courts …

So it’s full steam ahead for nominees, damn the torpedoes and the obstruction of Democrats.

Liberals, who are still licking their Special Election wounds, don’t appear *woke* about what is happening.

They are too busy chasing Russian phantoms, insane conspiracy theories, and pumping millions of dollars and celebrity endorsements into failed virtue-signaling candidates.

          • Well, Depp actually makes me more upset than most of the actors spewing hate about our president. I used to like him a lot, starting with his 21 Jump Street days. I thought he was so cute, now he looks like what he is, an old actor/rocker that let the booze and drugs destroy him physically and apparently mentally.

I wish he and his fans would see the truth of what he implies.

Yes, it’s your side that has actors killing people, and urging it. Not our side.

It’s your college professors who have their students kill 50 million citizens because they don’t have fealty to the State in Great Leaps Forward. Not our side.

It’s your people that are the true Fascists, and the intolerant. Not our people.

You people prove that each day. Each vile, venomous utterance. Each violent act.

Pulitzer Prize-Winning Novelist: I Hope Trump Has A ‘Massive Stroke’

    http://www.dailywire.com/news/17820/pulitzer-prize-winning-novelist-i-hope-trump-has-hank-berrien

Michael Chabon, who won the Pulitzer for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, spoke with Goel Pinto, host of a radio program also televised on the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, when Pinto asked him to tell him about his view of Trump. Chabon replied:

Every morning I wake up and in the seconds before I turn my phone on to see what the latest news is, I have this boundless sense of optimism and hope that this is the day that he is going to have a massive stroke, and, you know, be carted out of the White House on a gurney. And every day so far, I have been disappointed in that hope. But, you know, hope springs eternal. He’s an old guy, he doesn’t eat well, he’s overweight. He has terrible nutrition. He doesn’t exercise and it is that not that hard to imagine.

If I was Catholic, I would probably need to go to confession. I enjoyed this WAY TOO MUCH. I have been watching Tucker and this interview was even hard to sit through. In fact I think I finally had to “mute” her. And, she was teaching kids. SMH

I work with black folks whom I love. Why do I love and respect them? Because they work. We make Pandora™ playlists with four seeds max. That means if you pick, for each kitchen worker, Alan Jackson, Joe Bonamassa, The Temptations, and The Black Keys, you will get blocks of four songs based on each artist. After each block, Pandora rolls the dice and picks another of your seeds.

Lately we’ve been getting ads for The Black Expo 2017″ somewhere in Indiana.

Oh, how good I am at holding my tongue.

Imagine media-wide adverts for a White People Expo. Just freakin’ imagine.

I have been working towards having Tucker ring a bell when he wants to go out. I hung a bell near the back door, but not where he (or I) would ring it accidentally, then I ring it each time I let him out. I haven’t put his nose or paw on the bell, and he was a little afraid of it at first. I’ve been doing this for a few days.

Just now, when he was in the kitchen (gated) and I was in the basement starting some laundry and cleaning the cat box, he barked a couple of times, then he rang the bell! I think he may have gotten the association, but just in case I praised him and rang the bell again, then let him out.

Great! That is so cool. My cousin taught his dog to do that. It works really well. I think Tucker is really smart to have picked it up so fast.

Absolutely amazing. I’ve been doing this with Tripod with actual words. He knows quite a few. When I say “outside” he jumps off the bed, and runs under it. I’m quicker than him, most times, but he knows it’s a pain in the butt for me to wriggle under and drag his butt out. He knows “treats” “Foodfodakittys” “Waterfodakittys” and “poopies” too.

Dogs are much, much quicker and easier to condition to speech, sounds, and even hand motions. Took ten years to train Tripod to understand 10 or so words.

Over the last few weeks, he’s been yelling at me when I let him in for a few hours. A constant stream of meows. When I come home from work, I don’t need that. I need peace. Two days ago, I physically, and gently, held his mouth shut for half a minute, and calmly explained to him that he must be quiet if he is to remain inside.

He was quiet and purring for the rest of the night, with the occasional muted “brrrrow?” Animals are amazing.

Been studying Bobby McFerrin for years, but I need more education.

You provided. If I go south this Fall, I hope Chef comes with me, for he is also very much into music, and we will be going through Nashville.

And, Good God, I just want to stop there for a little while. So would he. A couple of weeks, if I can, and soak it up and get learnt. Nashville.

Amazing videos you’ve been posting. Super.

At (of all times) 3:16 he says, “…you might say….”, and then plays a riff on his instrument. He’s right. When you play, you are speaking, through your instrument. Whether your voice or something in your hands, or with your mouth connected to it like a wind instrument. Great narration, spot-on.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
