Lovely, there was a nice little village out side of Army base, in Germany. German Crusaders built a church, on the way to the church was the 12 stations of the cross. All of the cross stations were torn down and the Church was gutted by fire within the last month.

There’s an excellent article on this over at Zero Hedge. The Czech Republic Prime Minister called the EU’s refugee plan “dysfunctional”, and that it is. Nothing legally will be done for some time because, well, that’s what happens with litigation.
The Prime Minister also noted that none of the three countries, Czech, Hungary and Poland have had a single terror attack. He maintains their contribution is to ensure the integrity of the borders of the EU.

As much of a classic ” bacon and bacon” kind of guy I am, that first photo has a very tempting skillet breakfast. I think that bacon and avacado on the bread? Mmmmm.

Bacon as the first thick (bottom) layer with remaining fluff fried with the resulting grease. Bread to sop up the grease. Avocados a garnish… in a dish….off to the side …someplace.

what is the deal with males and hairy faces now? when did having a stubble face become all “macho” looking and OK for formal appearances? same time that neckties became symbols of male domination meme? I used to read that males with beards had some sort of sexual repression issue of a freudian nature or something. just me, but there was a time when corporate board of directors pictures had NOBODY with face hair, all with short haircuts, wearing white shirts with neckties and dark suits…all symbolic of power and intellectual success.
I think men became BETA through feminist beatdown and the gay and lesbian advertising motif portrayals.

I have had a beard for 20 years. Short and well-kept. I hate the straggly “grizzly” beards that the young guys have, although I am seeing fewer of them now — maybe the fad is wearing out just in time for summer.

I had a short beard when I was in my thirties. for awhile…but then came Texas summertime, and the fact that I like ranch dressing on salad and occasionally eat potato soup….so I decided that the face deal for me was too much of an unnecessary statement to make for the bother and attention it took to maintain…..and then barbers who could and would trim a beard became scarce too….
Now I see all the old guys from the 70s wearing gray ponytails and sporting bushy beards while riding around on big Harley Davidson Motorcycles trying to live the life they missed in their Youth…and when they became accountants and brokers they could not sport in appearance….some of this is a form of foppishness, IMO….but not to criticize, but merely to observe as an old coot today.

Czarina here – remember, in the 20’s, 60’s 90’s youth rebelled against the “old ways” & wanted to do things different from the establishment. Thus facial hair, long hair, short skirts, & scruffiness in general are criticized by the old fogeys so they become a badge of importance dividing us from them.

I have no problem with that if it is clean and neatly kept. Reminds me of the long hair popularity for men during the sixties and seventies. IF the hair is nicely kept and clean, it can look good. I knew a guy with the most beautiful red wavy hair but, unfortunately, those are few.

Short and well-kept, indeed. Clean-shaven? Women readied their rape whistles when I walked down the sidewalk, in broad daylight. Now I get pretty, kind smiles. I don’t get it, but I blame Lifetime TV and movies. I must look like every rapist on TV when I don’t have a beard, when in fact, via FBI statistics, I don’t even come close to looking like a real rapist, primarily because I’m white.
Same with the pork pie hat. It garners respect, somehow. More than a baseball cap. Way more than a backward baseball cap. I don’t get it, but it is what it is, and I roll with it.
Not because either are a trend, but because of personal observation.

I prefer clean shaven, but a neat beard that is well cared for is fine. I hate those long chin whiskers, or beards that are scraggly and look dirty.

A girl I worked with had a bad date with a man-bun. Before they even went out, he asked her to do his man-bun for him. He thought it would be a good bonding experience. I laughed. And then I laughed some more. Then I told her, “Don’t you know the maxim? See a man-bun… RUN.”
Man-buns are for ninjas and samurai. That’s about it.

Czarina here – who said men in the 70’s didn’t have beards, moustaches & drive Harley’s? Maybe those in the NYSE or at IBM, but both my husbands, friends husbands & all my male friends had facial hair. Czar had a full beard & excellent handlebar mustache when I met him. And BTW the slightly unshaven look came with “Miami Vice” initially, then seems to be coming around again, just like platform shoes, mutton-chop sideburns & shoulder pads. People get tired of looking at one style of things, some copy something they see, it catches attention & the next thing you know hip huggers of the late 1960’s are back except with the back waistband so low it shows (well, way more than I wanted to see)…. & instead of bell bottoms they are tapered to the ankles (also not in pink & orange paisley). Actually, my favorite recent style was the 80’s copy of the 40’s (see the movie “Working Girl”).

President Trump visited Rep. Steve Scalise Wednesday night at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where the GOP whip remained in critical condition.
Trump arrived with the first lady and brought flowers. They remained inside the hospital about 30 minutes.
Members of the Trump family had gathered earlier in the evening at the White House to celebrate the president’s birthday.
Hospital officials said Wednesday night that Scalise’s condition remained critical. A single rifle shot had traveled from his left hip across his pelvis, fracturing bones, injuring organs, and causing bleeding, the hospital said.
He underwent surgery immediately upon arriving at the hospital, then later an additional procedure to stop bleeding, the hospital said.
In spite of the procedures, Scalise will require additional operations, the hospital said.
Trump later tweeted that Scalise is in “tough shape” and asked his followers to pray for the representative.

In trying to make sense of what happened today, I kept coming back to a radio interview talk show host Michael Koolidge had with our friend Rebel Pundit (Jeremy Segal) which we posted on May 24, 2016, after Jeremy was arrested for filming an anti-Milo riot at DePaul Univesrity in Chicago, #FreeRebelPundit – arrested while filming leftist riot DePaul U. appearance.
Jeremy knows the radical left better than anyone I know. He has produced many videos of leftist riots, including the riots that led to canceling Donald Trump’s campaign event in Chicago in March 2016
I’ve remembered Jeremy’s words every time I see the campus shout-downs, Antifa beat downs, and other assorted riots.
And I thought of those words the moment I heard of the Scalise shooting:
” While people are out, running around, scared about the things Donald Trump is saying, there is an army of radical, militant youth being built in this country that lives in an absolutely alternative dimension and a different reality. Their entire world view is completely different and completely antithetical to the traditional American world view. And they are getting closer and closer to the point that they will be ready to fight. I don’t know when that’s going to be, but it’s coming and it’s very ugly.”
James T. Hodgkinson may not have been young, but he was infected with that same willingness to fight as Antifa and other anti-Trump leftists who riot. By all evidence, Hodgkinson was driven by an apocalyptic view of Trump’s election.
The window for violence has been moved from the radical fringes to the mere left. It’s much bigger than the incitement. And it’s been a long time in the making.

Wonder what would have happened if Oswald had had an AK47 in Dallas on Nov 22, 1963? Might have taken out LBJ, John Connelly, Mayor of Dallas, half the KKK members on the street, some flaky policemen at the time, the SS detail, and put major hurt on a beautiful Lincon Stretch Convertible Limo……heck….the got the deal done with only 3 bullets on a bolt action rifle sitting in a window sill.
They just don’t make assassins like the CIA and FBI used to hire them in the 1960s

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
