House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) is in stable condition after being shot early Wednesday at a baseball practice field in a Washington D.C. suburb, according to multiple reports.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he heard as many as 50 shots. Paul described seeing shots land near aides who had taken cover on the ground.
One staffer, he said, scrambled over a fence to get away from the fire.
Paul credited Capitol Police, who were there to protect Scalise, with saving lives.
Two Capitol Police officers on protective detail were also reportedly shot in the incident.
The “multiple shooting” was reported in the 400 block of E. Monroe Street in Alexandria, Va., according to police.
The suspect is “believed in custody,” police said. Alexandria Police advised people to stay away from the area.
A reporter from Fox News also tweeted that staffers were hit.

A man asked whether Republicans or Democrats were on the field moments before the shooting at a congressional baseball practice outside Washington Wednesday morning, according to a congressman on the scene.
Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., told Fox News that he left the practice minutes before the shooting. But before he did, he had a “very, very strange” encounter in the parking lot.
“As I was getting into the car [with a colleague], there was a guy that walked up to us that was asking whether it was Republicans or Democrats out there. It was just a little odd,” he said.

Waiting got Moore to say he’s making a documentary movie to show that had Republicans have not resisted the total gun confiscation his previous documentary fought so hard for this gun violence would never have occurred. Reports that the police know the identity of the shooter but not releasing his name at this time.
I heard a police rep talk about why they withhold the identity, at least in the “big city”. They want to execute search warrants on the suspect’s home, work, car etc. without interruption from the public, media, etc, not only to protect the integrity of evidence, but in case there may be “booby traps”. They also want to obtain internet records, cell phone records, and security camera footage in the area. All things I wouldn’t think of off hand.

I think the law should rain down “holy hell” on the shooter’s family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances….drag them all in for intense questioning…and publish their names and testimony….bring LIGHT to these creeps and where they live and how they act and who supports them…..UNTIL we get RID of anonymous postings, and PC journalistic reporting and anonymous “sources” we are going to be led around by the nose. I had this same thought, I just saw an MSNBC picture labeled “gun fire breaks out at republican baseball practice.” So very deceptive, almost as if a gunfight broke out between gun slinging republicans.

I did it for fourteen or 15 years, then my husband passed away and I had 3 girls to raise by myself, I started with using it just for videos (home schooled them through 8th grade) , then I got it for the late evening after a long day. Now I feel like it is a mistake.

I think we just heard the “second shot heard around the world.” I have been in a funk all day today after waking up to this horror. I had plans today to spray weeds, pick rocks, and weed eat. None of it happened. I truly believe we have reached the point of no return. Sooner than later someone is going to pull the pin. May God have mercy on our souls for letting it get this far.
