Annnnnnnd what did I say, what have I said: ‘official response is blame the victims and punish the people’, works ev-ry time.
In the last three Brit attacks, as well as the ones on the continent, the authorities almost immediately roll up suspects and say the perps have been ‘on their radar’. Let’s examine ancient history (i.e., September 11, 2001) where post-attack the FBI admitted some of the attackers had ‘been on their radar’. Oh wait, let’s go back to ancient-ancient history to the first WTC bombing where the involved where the crew not only was on the Bureau’s radar but the Bureau had interactions with them vis-a-vis a bombing. Sooooooo, if these scum were known and could be tounded up so quickly then……see where I’m going here?

SIDEBAR: Don’t think people have short memories? A while back I made sone post over at CTH where I referred to the 911 bombing of the WTC only to have some reader flame me as ‘there was only one attack on the WTC and that was the 911 attack.

It’s getting to appear that civilian casualties are acceptable to those pushing the assimilation of the uncivilized into otherwise civilized society. At some point I presume the animals will get tired of killing the sheeple, sit back and buy a minivan and house in the suburbs. If a few thousand, or hundreds of thousands, have to die in the process well that’s just the price we have to pay in the service of the greater good.

  7. Love the photo, Stella. That’s the Manitou, I see.

I wish I could see this one in person.

Ever been to South Manitou Island? It’s amazing. I was maybe 14 when we went with our church’s youth group, and several of our dads. The lake was, ah, pretty choppy, like a washing machine, and all us younguns were gleefully standing at the bow of the boat we were on (a ferry, not a tall ship), laughing at Lake Michigan pouring over the deck, and all the dads were inside the cabin hoping we didn’t all die. We didn’t know fear yet.

We’ve had approximately three days over 90 in the last three years.

I think South Haven needs to rebrand itself, and perhaps even rename.

Cool Haven. Windy Haven. Chilly Haven. Cold Haven.

“Summer heat got you down? Come to Cool Haven, and cool off! It’s always chilly here!”

Maybe in July we’ll get another warm day.

You come down here and sweat a little, clean out my painting shop, and play with the menagerie of kids and dogs. Occasionally a fox runs through, we’ve got some birds hanging out off the back porch in the kiwi vines, and my husband keeps the gun by the door to shoot at squirrels, which is his current obsession. Help yourself the the liquor cabinet, where you will find about ten flavors of shine, and a Jack assortment. And other stuff that people give me that is not Jack. In the back.

This place is an insane asylum, run by the inmates. Apparently they can even control the local police. The college president “told” the police to stand down, and they did. Very much like a cult. The college president is told what to do by the students. And he does, while congratulating the riotous students who tell him what to do. I’m beginning to think the whole state is a cult.

“UK scientists to clone ‘British Man’ from 9th century, as a last resort in the war on terror.

A recently found 1,200-year-old fossil is giving anthropologists new insights into a warrior-like, bipedal masculine human specimen they have identified as Testiculus Englishmanus, a mysterious ancestor of modern-day British men.
The remains were discovered in Wessex, at the site of the historic Battle of Edington (present-day Wiltshire), where in May, 878 AD, patriotic Anglo-Saxons defeated “The Heathen Army” of the Viking invaders, leading to the eventual liberation and unification of England.

The 6 foot-long fossil reveals that the extinct early man of England possessed two large working testicles, which shatters all modern theories about the origins of today’s residents of the British Isles.” – Oleg Atbashian/The People’s Cube

PutinIt is not Assad we are protecting there it is the Syrian Statehood.

Yes everyone there is to blame for something but were it not for an active interference from the outside the civil war would probably not have broken out…….Let’s talk substantively, did Assad make mistakes yes probably lots of them but those who oppose him are they angels? Who is murdering and executing children and beheading? Should we support those people who do that? ……. Should we wait for these terrorist to come to our country? No we’re not going to do that. Prime Minister is nodding in agreement…. We’re willing to work together but you must have a constructive approach on your side.

Putin insists that Assad did not use chemical weapons but rather it was the opposition trying to make Putin look bad.

Then Putin goes on to say that The US is using terrorists against Assad, why use terrorists? Because no one else would fight. I do not think it’s worth using these terrorist today because tomorrow it’s going to cost you a lot. When Al Qaida was created in Afghanistan to fight against the Soviet Union, they didn’t know that it would strike the US on 9/11. You’ve got to think about negative ramifications in the long term.

Putin is as good a political beast as James Comey.

Chef showed me this quote today in a little book of shrimp recipes.

“If I’d’a known this was gonna be the last time me and Bubba was gonna talk, I’d’a thought of something better to say.”

So I looked it up. I need to watch this movie again.

Forrest Gump: [Narrating] Bubba was my best-good friend. And even I know that ain’t something you can find just around the corner. Bubba was gonna be a shrimpin’ boat captain, but, instead he died right there by that river in Vietnam. And that’s all I’ve got to say about that.

I wonder what the last thing I said to the people I’ve loved who have died was? My brother, when we were teens; my uncle, in front of me with a DNR order, my best friend, half a year later, both from cancer. All of my grandparents. I hope it was something good, but it makes you think about what you’re speaking.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.

I just met an avid singer in the parking lot outside my building.

He recommended some music to me, after I threw Bobby Mcferrin at him, and Aurora, and a few other artists, as I am wont to do. Dude was cool as heck. He told me to stop throwing new artists at him (as if Bobby was a new artist), and as he was leaving, I said, so what do you want me to listen to? Throw me some artists I’ve never heard of!

He said, “Snarky Puppy”. I looked him in the eye, and said, you’re kidding.

He said, “No. YouTube.” I hope I see this guy again. I hope he researches Bobby.

Why have I not ever heard of this?

I hear “Layla” and “Hotel California” every day on the radio.

Why not this? Why Guns n Roses and not Joe Bonamassa? I had to ask some dude in a parking lot what his favorite music was, what he wanted me to hear.

Rush was right when they wrote “Spirit of the Radio”. No, you can’t hear anything new.

It’s hard to not be cynical. You can’t hear Aurora, or Susan Tedeschi, or Highasakite, or Of Monsters and Men, without actually looking for it. Radio’d rather play old Phil Collins and old Sting and old Van Halen and old Queen and old Madonna and old The Who and old Hendrix (only the biggest hits, too, not the rare good stuff).

I’d rather meet an avid singer in a parking lot and ask him to recommend something.

This band is incredible. Up there with Bobby. Up there with Daryl’s House.

This drummer is as good as Neil Peart. I’m almost done with the second track, and I’m absolutely flabbergasted. Watch how they all look at each other with smiling respect. That’s how it is working with a good crew in a busy kitchen. It’s the same thing.

They’re all happy when it flows, they all high-five at the end of the shift, because it did, and because they all rock. And they’re all smiling while they work.

A performance like this playlist is what a good day in a kitchen looks like.

Why? I hate that I only heard of this today.

Snarky Puppy is a Brooklyn, New York-based instrumental ensemble led by bassist, composer and producer Michael League.[1] Formed in Denton, Texas in 2004, the band features a collective of nearly 40 musicians, referred to as “The Fam” on their recordings and tours. The musicians perform on a variety of instruments including guitars, pianos, keyboards, woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings. Many of the current and former band members were once students at the University of North Texas.[2]

The band’s lineup is often in flux as members routinely perform with other artists such as Erykah Badu, Marcus Miller, Justin Timberlake, Kirk Franklin, Ari Hoenig, Roy Hargrove, Snoop Dogg and others. The core touring unit is Michael League, Robert “Sput” Searight, Nate Werth, Larnell Lewis, Shaun Martin, Cory Henry, Justin Stanton, Bill Laurance, Bob Lanzetti, Chris McQueen, Mark Lettieri, Mike Maher and Chris Bullock. Besides performing in a traditional setting, Snarky Puppy is committed to music education. While touring, the band has held over 100 clinics, workshops, and masterclasses in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Mexico.

Why, dear God. So much goodness here. And a guy in a parking lot/my back yard told me about it, only after I asked him to throw me a bone, too.
