Stella! A cigarette ad? OMG! I am triggered! I’m gonna have your FCC license yanked (whatever) or stage a protest or run to my safe space and color. And speaking of color, why does the ad feature a privileged white woman wearing restrictive and ugly clothing? Misogynist! You know minorities smoke more than whites. Racist! And all you want is to fatten the wallets of your Big Tobacco friends. Capitalist! If I had a cigarette lighter, I would hold it aloft, moving my arm left and right slowly, singing “All we are SAAAAAAYing, is give peace a chance.”

Betsy McCaughey: The Democrats’ Pre-Existing Condition Scam

    http://www.investors.com/politics/columnists/betsy-mccaughey-the-democrats-pre-existing-condition-scam/

The House vote on the GOP’s ObamaCare repeal bill vote is down to the wire, with dozens of Republicans waffling as “undecideds.” What’s the hold-up? Ninety-six percent of people who have to buy their own insurance stand to benefit from this bill, which will likely drive down premiums by double digits.

The remaining 4% — those with pre-existing conditions — will be protected by a federal fund to subsidize their insurance costs. They won’t get priced out of the market, because the fund will pay the lion’s share of their premiums.

But some Republicans are running scared. Although the bill solves two problems — lowering premiums and protecting people with pre-existing conditions — these fence sitters are worried about something else — getting re-elected.

As a member of the New York delegation put it, the issue is “optics.” They’re cowed by the media’s false reports that the GOP is abandoning people with pre-existing conditions…

The real problem is there is no difference between these two people. Ryan is the wind beneath the wings of the democrats and the RINOS. They will continue to lie about everything and anything (including healthcare) to derail America and President Trump. Two faced lying Ryan really needs to go.

I’m in WI and here is what I know. When WI, Scott Walker, Prop Ten, became ground zero for the liberal/conservative battle both Walker and Ryan made their beds with the big, big money people in politics.

There is a reason that Scott Walker was the first presidential candidate to drop out of the race and call on the field to unite against Trump, Scott, better than anyone of the 17 minus maybe Jeb knew the players and the stakes.

Ryan’s wife raised millions of dollars for Hillary. I do not believe for a second that Ryan’s family home is a house divided.

Ryan is a fraud. I have heard nothing of Reince and Ryan having any falling out. It is my opinion that Reince is more loyal to Ryan than he is to President Trump.

I do know people in the know in WI but you’ll just have to trust me on that 😎you learn a lot when you hunt on someones land with them. I’m not a hunter but one of best friends is.

Thank yo lovely. I certainly DO understand. There was a time (earlier research on Ryno)
when I thought that maybe “the change” I thought I was seeing in Ryno was due to Mittens, and the limelight. I then learned, essentially what you just said above, and realized that Eddie Munster, made the wrong choice long ago.

Just, as an FYI, and some already have heard me see this; but, I had a congressman that I do trust, tell me in a face to face, that when “you” are 1st elected, you come out of a 1 week “training or orientation” (this is how some of these guys instantly pair up, like Cruz and Lee, they were in that freshman class together)

Anyway, he said that literally when you come out of that room Friday afternoon, you look out the door, and there are 2 lines, if you will.

One is saying…..come here little boy & have I got some candy for you……..the other, smaller, but getting bigger, is saying. Are you keeping your campaign promises, are you a man of your word, does that Oath you took mean anything to you?

Ryan has been Ryan his entire career but he was different, at least in tone, before Mittens and the GOP got their hands on him.

Ryan cried like a little boy when he came back to WI for the big VP announcement.

The change to being a Stepford RINO and not an undercover RINO came swiftly. When he returned to WI about a month after the VP announcement he was unrecognizable he had been programed, willingly I’m sure in order to be the VP.

After Mitt Ryan shed any pretense of being a conservative who cared about Americans, the constitution or putting America first.

My guess is that both he & his wife who comes from a well monied liberal democrat family are happy to be drawing money from both sides of the aisle. Both are working for their Master of Globalism and the Greenbacks behind different curtains.

Ryan never would have been elected in his district if he ran as a democrat.

I really wish POTUS would get rid of him.

Very interesting about the two lines. I’m happy to hear the line of good guys is growing! Thank you.

I was told by one of them yesterday that I was rude and not to friendly. He seemed to think I wanted to chat while he had stopped in the middle of the road to get out and take a closer look. I told him it was a lake and it was up. He told me he was born and raised in this county and had never seen it like this. I asked him where he was 2 years ago, it looked like this twice in one year and then asked him if he could get back into his car and move along I had a meeting I had to get to.
He’s right I am kind of rude and not too friendly because after about the first 30 people like him blocking my way I lost all my friendly. lol

We live high enough that we won’t flood unless the dam breaks then I guess it’s possible, but not likely and if that happens several entire counties will be under water.

I think they’re just being panicked anyway as I checked the lake levels this morning and they’ve actually dropped a few feet. They obviously talked the corp of engineers into opening the dam overnight.

I don’t have a lot of confidence in them as 2 years ago they caused one of the dams to crack by holding the water too long and this year a week before all this rain that everyone knew was coming they raised the lake level. I’m not a rocket scientist but I would think it would be smarter when 8 inches of rain is headed your way to lower the lake in advance not raise it.

    Update.
Just in case anyone was wondering what the Old Guy was ip doing at 2 AM, I was in thevER with Czarina.
I had to go into New Orleans yesterday, I had a med test scheduled for 0900 today and had to stay overnight as the test was early in tha AM. I get settled into the motel and, st about 7 PM, I grt a phone call from Czarina. She was outside working when the 60 pound puppy, running at full tilt, ran into her left knee from behind and down she went. She couldn’t walk so she dragged herseif uphill some 500 feet by scooting on her butt. She dragged herself into a chair and called me (not bad for a woman in her late 60s, eh?).
No,option but to cancel the appointment, check out of the motel and come home…made it roughly 75 miles in about 50 minutes.
We put Czarina in the car…no small feat with her painful, swollen knee but between the two of us we did it. Got her to the ER (14 miles south) about 9 PMish and began the waiting process. About 2:30 the doc says she has a tibial plateau fracture and eill most likely need surgery. She got some pain pills, a knee stabilizer and about 3ish we went home. By thevtome we got back into bed it was 4 AM.
Today it’s back to the orthopods at the real hospital, folks she works with, where they’re evaluating her. 45 mile drive and she took it like a trooper. She did have the stabilizer on and padding on the floor to support her leg but it still wasn’t a picnic. I’m working on about 4 hours sleep so keep the coffee coming…oh yeah, big rainstorm moving in so 45 mile ride back should be fun.

It is going to take a couple of generations to clean up the mess Obama and predecessors have left us, for sure. Here is one example. (Note: Unfortunately the school is the only one for locals to get Nurse Practitioner I guess so had to sit through this crap as guest of someone graduating.)

Announcement of Speaker at Goshen College (Mennonite):
“Luis Ricardo Fraga, co-director of the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame, will be the primary speaker at Goshen College’s 119th commencement ceremony on April 30.
Fraga also is professor of political science and a fellow at Notre Dame’s Institute for Educational Initiatives. His primary academic interests are in American politics, where he specializes in the politics of race and ethnicity, Latino politics, immigration policy, education politics and related areas. He is immediate past president of the Board of Directors of OneAmerica, an immigrant rights and advocacy organization.
Fraga graduated with a degree in government from Harvard University and earned master’s and doctoral degrees in political science from Rice University. He has authored or co-authored six books.
In 2011, President Barack Obama appointed Fraga to the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. The same year, Hispanic Business named him one of the top “100 Influentials” in the United States. In 2013, Seattle Mayor Michael McGinn appointed him to the Immigrant Voting Rights Task Force, where he served as co-chair.’

*************** The VERY political Doctor said this in his extremely long-winded commencement speech which was loaded with all sorts of crap, revisionist history, and all about him instead of the graduates. The guy went on and on and on. Just one snippet from the speech (transcript https://www.goshen.edu/news/2017/04/30/commencement-speech/ ):
“My grandparents came here legally. But it is a little more complicated than that: it was impossible for them to migrate to the U.S. illegally. The category of “illegal immigrant” did not exist in American law then. Illegal entry was not a civil offense in American law until 1927-29. This is a fact that we often, conveniently, forget today. “
    ***************
So, I know States had laws on immigration. What was the punishment for not following? Was it deportation? Was the “civil offense” law he speaks of (revised history?) merely federalizing? Did the categorizing as civil offense limit deportation? Did being civil offense make for deportation instead of States being allowed to punish severely before deportation?

Yeah, we got crutches and a walker I bought. We have 3/4-inch ply ramps she can use to navigate the single step up to porch and up to the house. She’s getting used to balancing and moving on one foot but the swelling and tissue damage gives her grest pain whenever the knee moves around.
When she designed the house she had wheelchsir accessable doors put in inside and out, judt a few bucks more but she figured that we’d be falling apart eventually and the wider doors might help. I’m looking at getting a cheapie chair but it’s sorta limited to in the house as it’s a bit tough to roll thru the grass and gravel (tactical tracked wheelchair?) and Not really room for it and my mom’s stuff in the car. Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu. We pray for France, and for the safety of Marine Le Pen.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

Here’s the church I grew up in. And every one I found since, when I bothered to look for one again.

I agree wholeheartedly with the first comment. Tear it all down, salt the earth where it once stood, set up a cross and some folding chairs, and worship Christ.

Instead of bowing to Zondervan Corporation and it’s various “bibles”.

Why can’t we just worship Christ and the Bible?

Why does it all have to be a grand event, backed by corporate garbage, and always and forever infested and infiltrated by SJWs who believe that the Bible is wrong?

I want hymns, not ASCAP pablum.

So do most Christians. And that’s why most churches are empty every Sunday.

That sounds nothing like my church. I first visited it when I was 18 years old. My boyfriend took me into a Catholic Church for the first time ever, on a Sunday morning after we had spent all night at a Jerry Lewis muscular dystrophy telethon, something our high school group always did.

Later that year I was married in that church. A year later I was baptized. Then later confirmed. It’s been there, standing strong and proclaiming truth since before the Civil War, and for me personally, 41 years since I walked into that sanctuary.

Oh, and it is a grand event, and has to be. It’s called the Eucharist, and may God spare us from ever not making it the center point of our liturgy and our lives.

Our parish has been spared the heresy of Modernism.

And that, Menagerie, Is why I love you, and is why I wait patiently.

          Your parish is rare.

…and quit blushing, I don’t mean for you.

          Just someone like you.

Well, I need to back up and strictly tell the truth. That damned General Grant stole our stones for fortifications for the Battle of Chattanooga and the church was not completed until after the war, but the parish was there before it. General Rosecrans, a Catholic, had been friendly to the people of the parish but Grant came along and that all changed.

Black students have taken over a university building in Santa Cruz. Should be interesting. Tucker is doing an interview.
