The United States can really be divided up into three types of places. Places where there are no murders, places where there are a few murders, and places where murders are very common.
In 2014, the most recent year that a county level breakdown is available, 54% of counties (with 11% of the population) have no murders. 69% of counties have no more than one murder, and about 20% of the population. These counties account for only 4% of all murders in the country.
The worst 1% of counties have 19% of the population and 37% of the murders. The worst 5% of counties contain 47% of the population and account for 68% of murders. As shown in figure 2, over half of murders occurred in only 2% of counties.

Even within the Counties with the murders, the murders are heavily Concentrated within those counties.
When you look at individual counties with a high number of murders, you find large areas with few murders. Take Los Angeles County, with 526 murders in 2014, the most of any county in the US. The county has virtually no murders in the northwestern part of the county. There was only one murder each in Beverly Hills, Hawthorne, and Van Nuys. Clearly, different parts of the county face very different risks of murder.

Lived in Hawthorne, Ca for about 20 years. Although Murder was almost null, other crimes especially in eastern Hawthorne was a problem.
Well say that during the last Watts riots the police department was awesome. When the rioters tried to spread the riots further west, the police department was right there.
What I do see in this map is higher murder rates within the areas of many of the sanctuary cities.

Areas of high crime, and murders are the areas that are the known Hispanic and Black areas, nearer the industries and downtown.

Yup, my county’s on there, 82% white, nearly 13% black with zero murders. Guess that’s because everyone’s too busy working and stayin’ out of each other’s face to be murdering one another.

What I found interesting is the areas in western Washington–These are the areas with high populations of Illegals(you know the ones who keep saying we can’t touch them).

Sorry meant to say south eastern Washington. If one looks at a map, it from about Yakima down. These are very small towns who have higher crime rates than they should for the population.

Ah yes, Yakima…was in the military with a guy whose family owned a business there…anway, we have no illegals here, mayor and city council (only thing besides thievery the Rats and RINOs agree on) all say in unison that “there are no illegals here and New Orleans is not a sanctuary city!”.

Compare that to the red/blue county map. Yellow to the east is mostly swamp and city doesn’t generally go looking in that area for bodies so it’s possible the final total’s higher though city won’t say that.
