That’s b.s. Same crap that the NYT is pushing. Basically, they are complaining that the change of plans didn’t take place IMMEDIATELY when it was announced (April 8 or 9). Nevertheless, it did take place. The fact is, they were originally headed to Australia, and had a change of plans. Period. If you want to see the original Reuters piece from April 9, I’ll dig it up.

And in reply to all…DoD has folks on board who are supposed to handle the PR and spin, they (are supposed) to work hand-in-hand with planners to ensure these kinds of things are managed with no boffles.
We could spin this to make it look lime deception though the exercise could hsve been postponed. There’s also the possibility that soneone in the governmentbmsy have been hoping the Aussies would have turned sailed off with the US to Korea.
The US has been pushing Australia to take over a major portion of the security in the Indian Ocean and South China Sea/South Pacific as the size of the US Navy contracted. There are some who’d say that segments of the US government were pushing Australia into China’s face to get Australia to commit to backing a US containment policy regarding China.
There’s also the possibility that Trump’s taking a page from Nixon’s playbook and trying to make NK and Russia think he’s bat guano crazy. Remember the screams of ‘imminent war with China and Russia’ when Nixon had Haiphong harbor mined? No one had done that as Russia and China had subtly threatened an expanded war if we did. It brought NV to the bargaining table and let the other guys know Nixon was unpredictable.

    • Some of the things he postulates that will fix college will not help as much as he is thinking. I finally got tired of paying an equal amount for the online classes as the face to face ones so I went and asked my advisor about it. I attend a branch college of a larger campus in Indiana and I was told that the higher campus was making it cost so much for me to attend online because they wanted their cut. There was nothing the branch I attended could do about it.

        • My DD works and goes to school, so she sees plenty of people at work. She is required to communicate and work with other students. They have group discussions regularly. She doesn’t “see” her classmates, but has gotten to know some of them because she’s had them in multiple classes.

        • Nope. It has actually been better because it cuts down on group work. I don’t like group work. At all. Plus I’ve been working the whole time I’ve been in school. So I had plenty of human interaction.

And since it’s online I can get my liberal indoctrination in controlled doses and take a break when it gets to much.

I found the article to be disgusting in its initial remarks. Frankly, the kids got they way they are at college based on how they were raised and allowed to progress through PUBLIC SCHOOLS and the way their FAMILIES demonstrated maturity or lack thereof. The chickens roosting at college are there because they COULD be there, and the kids go there due to MASSIVE funds available through LOANS which is FREE MONEY since the kids do not intend to ever pay them off…and the parents got to get someone to fund housing and food for their snowflakes for 4 years and to get them out of the house.

College is a social deal now, not an educational deal…and certainly NOT WORTH the cost given the pathetic quality of the professorial staff.

So much for a great football team and beautiful buildings and grounds.

Kids do not grow up, nor learn anything except they believe they are ENTITLED to a job and respect because they got a piece of paper that says they went to college.

I find the whole Education establishment in America to be disgusting.

People say “K-12”, when speaking about the ills of public schooling.

K-PhD. It’s ALL rife with SJWs. All of it. All of Yale needs a safe space from the two conservative students who attend, for example. The whole school. They all need a safe space because two people disagree with the entrenched, angry, furious idiot liberal population’s political views.

Life, homeschooling and self-education are a much better education than any college or university of colleges. No competition. Our universities are little piglets, suckling on the teats of American taxpayers, until the nipples are sore and chapped, and there is nothing left in them. And the professors vacation like Obamas and Clintons, and like Epstein.

They have no prestige that isn’t given to them by us.

Let it wither on the vine. To quote Newt Gingrich. All of it.

    I had forgotten about Randi.

    From Wiki;

The One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge was an offer by the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) to pay out one million U.S. dollars to anyone who can demonstrate a supernatural or paranormal ability under agreed-upon scientific testing criteria. A version of the challenge was first issued in 1964, and over a thousand people applied to take it, but none were successful. The challenge was terminated in 2015.

Kudos to James Randi for exposing these shysters and frauds.

The chap using the name of Jesus to defraud people must be an atheist. Swearing that ain’t no heaven but praying there is no hell might not be the best way to live your life. In 1987 Peter (?) filed for bankruptcy. Good.

Amazing, awesome, wonderful. We need more of this.

What I noted above regarding the prestige we bestow upon college professors, I got from this story. Just know that if you interact with a reporter, or even an anchor, from a news station, or a major network, that they could never do your job, no matter what your job is, and that you could do theirs better than they do. And then when your realize this fact, act accordingly.

These are the people who lie out of ignorance or fear. These are the people who actually post Breaking News! reports referencing how many “bullets” are in an assailant’s “clip”. These are the people who call any large vehicle painted yellow a “bulldozer”. They are all idiots who are full of themselves, who know next to nothing about anything, and should be treated as such.

School teachers and “journalists” today are both the stupidest people in America and, at the same time, the people instructing Americans. Shakespeare may have been right about “First, kill all the lawyers” in his day, but he never witnessed educators and journalists in our day.

To be fair I don’t remember watching Bill before this election cycle but he isn’t really my cup of tea.

I have no evidence as to whether the sexual harassment allegations are founded or not.

I lean toward some of them having some credibility for two reasons 1) settling always encourage more people to come forward, if you are innocent unless there are extenuating circumstances it is never wise to settle, I can not believe that Bill had less than stellar counsel when he made the decisions to settle multiple times. 2) I personally find Bill boorish, arrogant and the person who always thinks that he is the most knowledgable and smartest chap in the room, people with this type of personality find it incomprehensible that anyone would not only enjoy their advances but accept them as a gift from someone who is obviously so special.

His constant promoting of his books also annoyed me but that is just a personal feeling of mine.

Anyhow I find it hard to believe that anyone doesn’t see him as smug (but maybe that is arrogant on my part 🙂 ), I remember Bill saying some pretty ugly things about Trump and being condescending to candidate Trump in interviews. When Bill would talk about Trump with other talking heads after he interviewed Trump and the heads would question Bill as to “Why didn’t you say this or that to Trump?” Bill always said things equivalent to “Aw gee shucks ya’ know, I don’t want to tell Trump how to run his campaign even though if Trump would listen to me he would have a better shot at becoming president.” 🙄

Anyhow I don’t think making the observation that Bill is prideful is a sin of judgement. It is to me an accurate assessment of the person Bill presents himself to be. I don’t like the “judge not” as a one size fits all to situations. God demands the we judge, but that we do so with an informed conscience and the facts, after all it was God who raised up judges.

I believe it is likely that there is some merit to the allegations for the reason I gave in my post.

Personally? I did see Bill not defend candidate Trump, and I’m not talking about defend him like that mindless dope Bill Mitchell defends Trump but defend Trump when people on his show were pushing a dishonest narrative. Trump can’t control himself, Trump needs to get off Titter, blah blah blah…. Bill almost always let it stand.

Bill is who he is and doesn’t care at all what I think of him, he doesn’t even know that I exist. I have no skin in the game.

Only vaguely. I have my own thoughts on powerful men who are separated from their wives for weeks at a time.

Women are attracted to power and fame. (I’m such a misogynist 🙄).

I could talk about Paul Ryan but I like my home I think he is a depraved despicable person in many ways.

I don’t think a lot of people realize what a aphrodisiac power and fame is to people, they want to be part of the in crowd and have a story to tell when they get home.

I had a boyfriend years ago and he was at a bar when he ran into the Bill Daily at a bar. Bill and my boyfriend were chatting and several women approached Bill. Bill was nice but sent them on their way. The two of them got to talking and my boyfriend asked him if women always approached him and for lack of a more delicate way of putting it made it obvious that they were available for a sexual liaison. Bill said “All of the time” rolled his eyes and said “I could sleep with any woman in here.” PS this was long after I Dream of Jeanie was off the air.

My belief is that if uncomplicated sex is so often offered to someone because of their wealth and fame, some men become accustomed to believing if they offer a fantasy in the bedroom whoever they offer it to should be flattered and will say yes.

There is a reason that Vice President Pence is so fond of his wife being at his side.

I have skin in the game simply because I enjoyed the show, most of the time, and I enjoyed the way he viewed things like the NYTimes and CNN. Allegations that result in a payoff are dubious at best. Those facts will never see the light of day, and that leaves questions on both sides.

They don’t have to announce it is because of he sexual harassment allegations but if it is because of the sexual harassment allegations and the multiple settlements that Fox/O’Reilly paid then it is Fox covering its bottom dollar.

For me I can’t get past the fact that he settled multiple allegations with the blessing of Fox for over 13 million dollars. I just don’t see a reason to call in the free department and turn the hoses on blast if you have already determined it is just smoke. All multi-million dollar settlements do is encourage more people to stick their hands out.

Did BR get caught up in the $exual Hara$$ment Ind$try? Could be. I just don’t think O’Reily is that naive or that the upper echelons at Fox are that keen on perpetuating an environment of blackmail by unfounded allegations.

Now the Murdoch brothers may be decimating Fox fro within and really 13,000,000 really isn’t more than pocket change to them so……

Poppa Murdoch is worth an estimated 13 billion and the boys are both worth over 150 million. Poppa is 86 🤔.

I’m putting this here because it would be just too narrow and long if I replied to the actual post that mentions the mails.

          From one of the emails.

“This decision follows an extensive review done in collaboration with outside counsel.”

Word has it that Murdoch warned his sons when they made the multi million dollar settlement in the Ailes case that it would bring accusers out of the woodwork. Every attorney who practices Tort Law knows that this unfortunate reality exists. You just never settle unless there is fire beneath the smoke or there are extenuating circumstances.

The Left always goes after sponsors. The Left always uses financial blackmail to try and achieve their purposes. It is part of their industry.

Is it possible that the Murdoch boys are playing a long range game and had O’Reilly in their sites when they were making the Ailes payout? Some of the O’Reilly settlements came before the Ailes case is my understanding.

O’Reilly, one of the most identifiable Catholics in media chose to go to Italy and the Vatican on his impromptu/forced vacation. This makes me believe that O’Reilly thought he had a job to come back to and he was going to try and make things right, come back and apologize for anything he had done that may have been misinterpreted and go on with his show.

The settlement are troubling. O’Reilly claims he wanted to save his family, especially his children from the spectacle of a trial personally I just don’t believe that. It is not rational, reasonable thinking and O’Reilly if nothing else generally draws rational conclusions. O’Reilly would have his ears perked for an action like this, he knows that his only value to the Murdochs is financial and that personally they dislike him.

Any Tort Attorney with minimal competence would have counseled O’Reilly that the only reason you settle is when you think there is a good possibility that you will not win at trial. Save the attorney fees, the public humiliation and likely a larger financial judgement.

So either O’Reilly really did do some of what he is accused of or he had lousy attorneys or the Murdoch clan set up their largest money maker to fall and damage their own network. One option seems the most viable to me if O’Reilly did absolutely nothing I find it hard to believe that the Murdoch brothers could convince him to settle. I also find it hard to believe the Murdoch brothers would have renewed his contract, all they would have to do if they wanted him out was to say “Hey Bill we have these settlements we paid, why don’t you just say that you feel like it is time for you to spend more time with your family and ride off into the sunset.” We are dealing with smart people, if the Murdoch clan did this it was a very, very poor finical decision to besmirch their own network. O’Reilly could have rode off into the sunset as a hugely influential and successful news commentator and Fox could have basked in that glow and raked in more advertising money. I just can’t see the Murdochs damaging their own brand.

President Trump settled his Trump University lawsuit because it was the most reasonable and expedient thing to do as it was a distraction and as president it would be an impossible case to bring to court and fodder for the MSM. A nuisance suit is what I believe POTUS and his counsel decided that the Trump University lawsuit was. Throw some money, the the heat for a short bit and shake the dust off your sandals.

President Trump did not settle the child rape accusation or the women out of the woodwork sexual harassment allegations because he knew it would be suicide to do so and that the MSM would have portrayed it as an admission of guilt.

Never ever settle a sexual harassment suit. Law 101. Maybe Pre-Law.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You. We also pray for the safety of Marine Le Pen and France.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

    Basically the competitions set limits.

What can you make a computer do, audio and video, with a 64k limit?

    http://mercury.sexy/prods/hg_fermi-paradox.zip

That’s the actual file. Unzip it and run it.

This is what it does, if you’se are afraid to. And I can understand that.

64k. That’s the filesize. It’s not a video, it’s your computer rendering and playing it all on the fly.

My little doggie has discovered something scary on the other side of the room. She went over to check it out, but wouldn’t go all the way. Now she has me all jumpy. She doesn’t do this very often, so I wonder what caused her to act like this. 😯

Half of my best friend, a few years ago, was Judy. She was married to the other half of my best friend. She was taken by cancer, and as she was going away from us, one of her daughters called me, to tell me. Of all people, I was who she called. I watched my dad’s brother, with a D.N.R. order, signed by hisself, get his plugs pulled, as it were., after battling cancer for years. Dragged many deer out of the woods and dunes with him. Watched and listened to him annotate every episode of both M*A*S*H and COPS.

Today I found out that the guy who, when I was homeless, walked — with purpose — up the main street with me, ten years ago, and paid $800 out of his pocket, to get me into this apartment AND this town, has cancer, and is dying. He just walked down the street with my homeless, just crashed my car butt, ten years back, and said, “Well, let’s find you an apartment!” SMH

I cannot pay him back. Don’t ever help me, folks. You’ll live longer.

Wooly, Wooly, you can’t go through life with your mantra being “Make people happy” and then tell people not to help you.

The man who helped you sounds like he was already living on a different plane, a plane better than most of us live.

Years and years of doing good deeds, (surely he didn’t just start with you). I will pray that his journey to God is quick and painless as can be.

This is what I meant to post upthread but it wasn’t supposed to be posted until now.

            So sad, and so true
            That even shadows come
            And hum the requiem
            Kyrie eleison
            Kyrie eleison

Our hearts can only break because they they are overflowing with love or sorrow. Both are an abundance of God within our souls.

I try, Czar. As far as I can tell, I don’t deserve my blessings, and they don’t deserve their curses. It’s why I love actively. I didn’t even deserve my Honorable Discharge, you know. COB Zollars said to me, at 19 years old, “You’ll never amount to s**t.”

I took that advice to heart for too long. I am full of gratitude, to overflowing.

Now I teach little 20-y.o. kids how to work and give a s&&t about the business.

What else can I do with what I’ve been given but that?

Just do Wooly and it is enough.

You never know how or when your ripples reach people.

One of the things that I heard which really had a huge impact on me was a young woman who was on her way to the abortion clinic saw a bumpersticker on the car in front of her that read “Abortion Stops a Beating Heart”. The second she read it she realized that she could not kill her baby, her baby had a heart, she never made her abortion appointment and her baby was saved from execution.

I always, always think the person with that bumpersticker on their car saved a life that day and they don’t even know it. A child was born, the child lives loves and laughs all because someone stuck a bumpersticker on their car.

                  How beautiful is that?

Your mitzva diesn’t have to be big or grandiose just something you feel good doing. We akways tip 20% unless the house works at pissing us off. I see homeless with a dog I’ll give them $10, it’s not on me if they’re playing me. I see a big family in the store without enough cash for their groceries I’ll kick in cash to kerp them from having to put things back. It’s notbthe money, it’s preventing those parents from being humiliated in frontbof their kids.
There are many things you can do, small things can have an amazing effect. Make sure you tell your patron what his act meant to you, how it changed your path and make sure you tell him you’re going to pay it forward for him. There, there’s a mitzva right there.
As for people telling you their personal, opinions of your personal worth…I generally ignore them, their motivations are usually coming from some place more them than you. I learned that the corny ‘guy in the mirror’ is the opinion that counts, after all unless you asked that person for a second opinion why take time sweating it? Wanna guess how many people told me, during my almost 50 combined years of employment, that I wasn’t gonna be shit? Yet here I am, and you know what doesn’t roll uphill? Don’t listen to or let negative people be a beacon for much the same reason you don’t go swimming wearing concrete shoes.

Hillary camp scrambling to find out who leaked embarrassing info.

On April 27, Clinton’s top aides are attending a “thank-you party” at the apartment of Charles Myers. The source added, “Everybody will be eyeing everyone else suspiciously.”

    😂

I can solve this one for them, whoever drops a barbell on their head, dies in a plane crash, is shot in the back 3 times, commits suicide by hanging, stabbing and simultaneously drowning themselves that person is the leaker.
