    Rerun:

It’s interesting that the in last war we ever definitively won, we never invaded the nation.

Japan surrendered, and a hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides were saved.

Nearly every war with boots on the ground we lost. Czar? Are we trying to not win, and just fight forever?

We learned how to WIN. We haven’t won since. And this is not at all meant to disparage our soldiers, sailors, and airmen. We haven’t won since we had a guy at the chessboard who actually wanted us to win, or could even define the term.

    I hope that’s changed, finally.

I think there is absolutely no chance that both Putin and Xi haven’t read The Art of the Deal, and that they both know Trump is quite smart, and quite a strategist.

China will help with the problem of NK. Russia will help with the problem of the ME.

Europe will be the same as ever, warring and bickering and being overtaken until they realize it’s existential, if they ever do, and then having to go too far, not having nipped it in the bud.

the game plan in WWII was to PREVENT domestic invasions…and the war was taken to the remote battlefield….everything was done domestically to ISOLATE anyone suspected of being part of the ENEMY or a TRAITOR to the USA.

Hence VETTING and PREVENTION OF IMMIGRATION.

During an interview with the Financial Times published Sunday, Trump warned that if China was unwilling to collaborate on North Korea, the United States would be willing to go it alone.

“China will either decide to help us with North Korea or they won’t,” he said. “If they do, that will be very good for China, and if they don’t, it won’t be good for anyone.”

I think he knows what he’s doing.

Yes, ’cause every time that little punk starts with his BS, we run over there and buy him off. All South Korea has to do is place food trucks, etc, etc, on their side of the border, and the North Korean Army would desert in mass, looking for the good life. Just when the Greman border wall came down, the East Germans move west, very fast……..

That’s what SK used to do to turn NK agents they caught. They’d keep ’em in closed custody until they’d calmed down then take them for a drive thru the downtown shopping district. They’d let him/her wander (heavily escorted, of course) through malls andcresturants, stop for gnoshes and do some shopping…few refused to turn.

News is reporting thst Syria has again bombed the rebel-held village it used the chem weapobs on to start this whole mess. Undoubtedly the Russians and Assad giving the US the finger as the US has no moral high ground now as, I’m sure, chem weapons weren’t used.
Russia has also said it will provide Syria with upgraded air defense systems. That will be interesting as if Russia does provide top-tier weapons, even if they have Syrian decals, there will probably be Russian crews operating them. This will not only effect cruise misdile strikes but manned aircraft strikes; you know, like the ones we toss at Assad forces?
That frigate tne Reds are sending there can also be tied into the air defense system. Let’s say the frigate ‘shadows’ the US ships that would launch the cruise missiles. The frigate’s radar systems can reach out and pick up missiles at about 30 miles and fighter aircraft at about 140 miles and its surface radar system works out to about 180 miles. They may have upgraded their systems but these are about minimums. If the US did an ‘over the horizon’ launch the Rusdian frigate could report the launch to the Syrian TOC before the land-based AA systems could see them…handy.

Give those Russians a multiple picture. Before that happened, pin point radar sites, put the Wild Weasels to work for a day or so on various jamming bands…. Miight work, I’m still stuck in Gen 2 mode, don’t know the latest updates………or what Hildabeast sold beside uranium to the Russians. And Ms.WeeWeed, drop a pallet of Stolies’……..

Yet another post that disappeared. Anywho, we hot to cruise missile choices, the air launched or the Navy Tonahawk. If you look at the nations around Syria within ALCM range you don’t have much we can air launch from. We might be able to get permission from Turkey but they might be loath to PO Russia even more and Israel’s out for obvious reasons.
We’re pretty much stuck with the Navy models but for the time being the surface launch from monitorable positions seems to suffice for diplomatic purposes. Don’t forget that we can also launch from virtually undetectable submarine positions if we wanna play hardball.

    Dreadful news from Egypt today.

Egypt’s Coptic churches hit by deadly blasts on Palm Sunday

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-39544451?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_breaking&ns_source=twitter&ns_linkname=news_central

Two blasts targeting Coptic Christians on Palm Sunday in Egypt have killed at least 36 people, officials say.

In Alexandria, an explosion outside St Mark’s Coptic church killed 11 people. Pope Tawadros II, head of the Coptic Church, had been attending Mass inside and was unhurt, state media reported.

An earlier blast at St George’s Coptic church in Tanta killed 25 people.

So-called Islamic State (IS) says it is behind the explosions. The group has targeted Coptic Christians in Egypt.

Kassem Eid was on FOX and FRIENDS this morning. It was a great interview. He learned English by reading Reader’s Digest. He learned English because he loves America. But, he wants to live in his own country, Syria. In the last few years, he testified before a lot of groups in Congress with no success. No one seemed to listen to him and he finally left and went to Germany. He is very pleased with what Pres. Trump has done.

They are having the air show here. I am posting this link because I thought some might be interested. There are beautiful pictures of the planes and some videos. This morning I saw a group go over that were prop planes. I am not sure where they came from, but they fly pretty slowly compared to the jets, of course. It has been very noisy here for days. 🙄

Sometimes the world aligns and one gets a glimpse into the aftermath of an act of “paying it forward”. This morning my world aligned and I thought I’d share.

A couple of months ago, I met an 8 year old boy who loved to read, but his circumstances were such that he’d never had a book to call his own. That made him sad. He told me there were some books in his classroom that his teacher let him read and that made him happy. He really liked the history books, but he’d read all of the ones the teacher had and now he was reading a book about a mouse that lived underneath some stairs. The mouse book was okay, but not as good as history books, “cause history is really cool”.

Last week, the young boy received three packages that had no return address. Those three packages were all addressed to him and him alone and in each of those packages he found a history book.

A couple hours ago an acquaintance of mine who knows I support reading programs, emailed me to relate her story about visiting a woman whose little boy plays with her son. It seems the little boy received three mysterious packages that contained books and my acquaintance said she’d never seen the little guy so happy. Unwitting BONUS, a photo was attached to the email, and there he was, a small 8 year old boy, fast asleep on the couch, with his arm wrapped around HIS books.

Last week the world shone brightly for one little boy and on this Palm Sunday, I have been wrapped in the warmth of the light.

This brought tears to my eyes. A little boy who loves books, and not only books, but history books. My son loved books from the very beginning. And, his daughter is going to love to read, too. Whenever her mama sits down and opens a book, she gets one, too. And, they read her 4 or 5 books before she goes to bed. She is only about 18 months old. They are all voracious readers. What a wonderful story.

Thank you ausmom, there is nothing that warms my heart more than hearing about parents & grandparents that read to their children.

:0) I’ll bet you can’t wait for that little girl to bring you her books and say “here grandma, read to me” – melts my heart just thinking about it.

I do have to confess, I loved reading to my son and my grandkids, but I was mighty glad when my grandson got over his dinosaur phase – thems some hard words to read, even for this grandma.

ausmom, you are amazing. Yes, I sent the packages and if you would like to send the books to me, I’d be thrilled to see that this little guy and a couple others who could use a little magic receive them….

However, if you’d like to pay it forward in your own community, might I suggest that you contact a homeless or womens shelter. The children in these programs & facilities are often forgotten and most shelters are more than happy to help you connect your books with the kids who love to read but have no books of their own.

            Bless you aus.

Wow, you just solved my problem. I have hung on to these books even though I have a lack of space to keep them. I just didn’t want to take them to Goodwill and have them tossed in a bin. The ones I was thinking of sending you are history books. Really good ones. And, the others I could check with the shelter, which I hadn’t thought of.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
