It’s finally Friday, last day of the work week for us workin’ stiffs, but remember the commie libtards don’t really work, so they’ll be up to more mischief over the weekend. Better stiffen up the resolve a bit. This should help. Coffee up y’all. And remember, when they bring a knife to the gunfight, you are gonna win, but we have to show up.

We finally had a bunch of rain and above freezing temps overnight. Most of our snow is gone, but now I have a full lake where my driveway is supposed to be. Windy today so now I have whitecaps on the driveway. Welcome to Eastern Washington.

Thank you. It has been a rough 24 hours. It finally hit me that my beloved dog is gone. I loved him so much. I live alone, with the exception of two cats. My dog was my best friend. It really has broken my heart. I had the stitches out yesterday and had to tell the doctor what happened. I lost it emotionally.
On a good note, he was surprised how fast I was healing. My closest neighbors have been awesome. They have taken me to doctor appointments and redressed my wounds. They have been a true blessing.

Shiloh, I am glad you have help. I have been thinking about your dog. I just wonder if something attacked his brain. I know you said he was getting more and more aggressive, but that doesn’t rule out him having some kind of illness.

I sometimes think you are right and then other times I think it was just his male dominance coming out. Basically the dog thought he an the house. I think it started when I brought the female kitten home. I will never know for sure. I do know that I will never have another dog.

I can’t remember what kind of dog he was. And, yes, I think he could have objected to the cat, but that is hard to say. I think only you would really know because of how he acted and when it started. I don’t blame you for not wanting another dog. I don’t blame you for that at all. I hope that will change, but I certainly would understand if it didn’t.

Your story is really sad AND tragic. Australian cattle dogs are very smart and full of energy, and they are bred as work dogs and instinctive herders. Without work jobs to do, they can get sorta possessive and into destructive mischief including chewing up stuff as big as a fence. We have a rescue dachs female that is docile and a lap dog, but was used to other dogs before we got her. She was pretty lazy alone. Then I rescues a puppy abandoned at a gas station 5 weeks old, barely opened eyes, over last Memorial day…brought him home, did all the vet work and neutered and chipped him when he was old enough…fought the worming and nasty stuff, but he was small and got craddled a lot and the female dachs mothered him like a pup and they became totally partners, as he grew, he tried to “herd” her and discovered that dachs do not “herd” at all…so they got beyond that…he loves to play very actively and gets very excited over food and toys, but never any agression at all. I still hold him sometimes and he likes it…usually too full of energy to slow down until nite time, and he sleeps in the crate in our bedroom as the dachs sleeps with us in the bed. He is about 18 pounds, is a mix breed…and we did not know WHAT he was so we had him DNA tested to discover he is Australian Cattle Dog with some Collie mix. He is pretty much through growing….and he likes to bark when any stranger or noises happen, but again, no hostility…he plays agressively, but never bites at all although he could as he has LOTS of teeth and powerful jaws.

I will watch carefully for any changes because of your situation, as we are considering moving from the city down to our rural lakehouse where there are a LOT of free roaming dogs which he has no familiarity with at all….

Loss of a close pet is a gut wrencher, and I hope you can discover a substitute for the love you once had with your dog….dog companionship is important to me…I am 75 and plan on hanging around longer awhile…..and the dogs make me laugh…..

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I am still looking for my sweet old dog whenever I come in the house. I wish I had something clever or profound to say that would help, but all you can do is give yourself time. We are making travel plans that have been on hold for the last few years. Still , there is something missing from our home. Bless you.

Barack H. Obama Sr. and FMD produced a success.

Others too, I’m quite sure. I don’t know how many men “had a go” with Stanley Ann, when they passed her around after formulating their plan to make a president from scratch, but I’m sure it was more than just those two.

Yes, he looks more like FMD than Barack Sr. Much more.

It’s just a piece of paper. Someone had to be present and fill it out. Which of Stanley Ann’s possible sperm donors was closest at the time of birth? Barack Sr.

But they all designed and made him. Barack’s got lots of fathers.

I knew a young woman who got pregnant at 14, had the baby, graduated high school, married the father, had another baby, and in a few years got divorced. Then, eventually she remarried and had three more children. The thing I found sort of wonderful and strange, was that when her ex remarried, ALL the children were in the wedding party and she and her husband and her parents went to the wedding. I asked her about it and she said she got along great with him and his new wife. When her ex would come over to take his two children for visitation, he took ALL the children. They went to Disneyland and all over. They were a really wonderful family and were all so sweet and caring.

He left them, went to another station and started another family……..which she found out about, too. Really messed up. But, she raised 4 children on her own and they turned out very well.

Same here. My first husband was a bit of a women’s libber. He was very charming and funny and had a real zest for life. When we split I was devastated and to this day, I miss having someone to talk to the way I could talk to him. But, the second marriage produced a son that I am very proud of and wouldn’t change a thing for. But, the marriage was very hollow.

I married my first husband while I was in the military. Come to find out when we got out, the military was the only thing we had in common. We are still friends to this day. We divorced in 1979. My second husband died when I was 42. My first husband was the first person to call to see if I needed help.

In 1982 Stevie Wonder canceled his concert for Taste of Chicago because the race whore Jesses Jackson was trying to blackmail Chicago into having minority owned restaurants over represented at Taste of Chicago by threatening a boycott the entire event and convince blacks to boycott the event if more vendors were not accepted just because of the color of their skin 🙄.

Stevie was all in for the shakedown under the guise of human rights.

First time in my life I realized how truly blind Stevie Wonder was, I hope he climbs over the wall.

He was blind (figuratively) when he produced You Haven’t Done Nothin’ back in the early 70s. No, I don’t like Stevie’s politics, but he’s a product of his times, and who he’s surrounded by.

I’d still shine his shoes. If I based my musical tastes on political opinions I’d pretty much be stuck listening to Ted Nugent. And I don’t really like his music that much. The only way the Nuge could get funky is by not showering for a few days. 😀

Lots of musical geniuses are political idiots. Most, in fact.

Stevie has self-deprecating humor. I love that.

I know if I had to listen to musicians who I am aligned with on a political or moral level I would be outta luck. I just personally have a bee in my bonnet about Stevie Wonder because he aligned with Jesse Jackson during my formative years and Jesse is such a toxic hateful person who has built his wealth stabbing the very people he claims to be trying to help in the back.

I remember when he canceled and my friend said those exact words to me “I never thought of Stevie as blind before today.” Even back then we knew Jesse Jackson was trash and exactly what he was doing.

On the plus side Taste of Chicago was very nice that year.

”I pulled out because the people in my community who eat my food are fighting mad and have come in here threatening to boycott my business and harass my customers,” Mr. Finney said. ”Jesse Jackson said there would be no actions against vendors, but I guess he can’t keep everybody under control. At age 66 I don’t need this kind of trouble.”

Have you read the lyrics to You Haven’t Done Nothin’?

It’s a tirade (a tired tirade) against white people.

Kinda like P-Funk’s Chocolate City. Same era, same game.

Wish I could have seen P-Funk perform live. I know folks who did, and the look in their eyes when you ask them about it… it’s fond, it’s wistful.

James Brown and his crew. You don’t want to know their politics. But even then, still, for them, it was more about the music than the politics. They only infused their music with politics because they had to, or else.

You watch Eric Clapton and J.J. Cale today, and realize that it’s STILL all about the music for them, politics be damned. When they happen to insert politics, it’s because they have to. I like to imagine that most of them don’t actually believe all that crap, and that they just want to continue being published.

I haven’t read the lyrics or listened to the song. Like I said I just have a personal dislike for the man. I don’t think he is any worse politically than his peers I just don’t like him. I don’t wish him ill in fact the opposite I do hope he sees reality one of these days.

Eric Clapton I love. He may be one of the few musicians that I find fascinating when I read about his life. The same thing with George Michael, I remember his Choose Life t-shirt and that he supported Obama. How do you square that knot?

I was listening to Stevie Wonder on 12″ vinyl when I was 10. When I was 7 I was listening to my dad’s collection of reel-to-reel tapes of his music — soul, funk, and Lovin’ Spoonful, and knew how to thread the tapes, and later, even to splice them.

When I was 5 I was taking piano lessons. They weren’t very inspiring. The music program in the school I went to as a kid was similarly uninspiring. That’s because they didn’t give us the good music. They gave us garbage.

You want kids to get into music? Then show them the good stuff.

Mornin’ all! (here, anyway) Here is your IDITAROD update. In about an hour it will be the start of Day 4 of what is usually an 8 day race. For those of us watching, this is kind of a boring day and lots of resting is going on. The race requires a 24-hour layover wherever the musher wants to take it, and most do right about now. There is also an 8 hour rest required on the Yukon somewhere, which most teams have already taken. So. Mitch Seavey continues to be in first position technically. He arrived at the mid-race checkpoint of Huslia at 8 pm last night and has not left. That tells me he is taking his 24 there. But he also has to take 8 at either Koyukuk, Nulato, or Kaltag before leaving the Yukon, which most other teams have already done. So likely to get passed up unless he has a crazy big lead. He got to Huslia 6 hours ahead of the #2 team, Nic Petit. So who knows? His team looks very strong in the videos I’ve seen.

The first 7 teams are in to Huslia; the next 8 teams have left the previous checkpoint at Galena, headed for Huslia; and 34 teams are currently in Galena. Many are taking their 24, including Aliy. She arrived at 1:30 yesterday, so will be leaving in less than 4 hours. The second half of the race, after all teams have taken the 2 big rests, is when relative positions become more accurate. It’s also when you see how much gas the dogs have in the tank: how fast they are moving, how much energy they have when stopped. Do they lay down immediately, or keep standing and barking or even pounding the harness to keep going? Do they eat with gusto, or just pick at their food (or even refuse to eat)? Hopefully Aliy has gotten her dogs through the trail bug while they have rested since yesterday, and all are rarin’ to go.

By tomorrow the front end of the race will be leaving the Yukon River for the coast and the final third of the race will take shape. There are a lot of miles left, and anything can happen.

    Go Aliy!

Triple murder on NOLA today, momma and her three kids shot – momma and two kids died. Dead children are 6 and 10, wounded child is 12. Children appear to be from three different men, momma just split from her current hubbie and filed for a restraining order. Police say they have no suspects and no motive.

Meanwhile, next parish over, three men did a home invasion, brutalized and shot home residents and stole their car. Police arrested them only to find the offenders were a father and two of his sons. Well at least Dad seems to be following the ‘take your sons to work’ program.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
