The intro has been my ringtone for a year or so.

Pretty sure most folks at Stella’s Place One aren’t into rap music.

I was weaned on it. Grandmaster Flash. Run DMC. Ice-T. N.W.A. (sadly, I devoted precious brain cells to Eazy-E’s lyrics), Rakim.

I quit. For 20 years. No rap. I hated rap. Then I found this record label.

        “Rhymesayers Entertainment”

Aesop Rock is genius. Sage Francis is genius.

My apologies for inaccuracy. Sage Francis is actually part of Strange Famous, and not Rhymesayers Entertainment. Both labels are known for unbelievably intelligent rap music. Serious freakin’ poetry and style.

This is a small part of our kitchen music.

We found a sign in the company warehouse. Beautifully painted.

        It says “Soul Power!”

It’s a fixture in our kitchen.

It’s amazing how Pandoraâ„¢ destroyed radio in workplaces.

On any given day, our kitchen is treated to Stevie Ray, ZZ Top, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Joe Bonamassa, BB King, Susan Tedeschi, James Taylor, Adele, Mumford & Sons, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, or even Billie Holiday, Steve Vai, Cee-Lo Green, and Stravinsky.

Our kitchen is getting more than culinary lessons.

Me and Chef make sure they get a musical education, too.

Stella, I bought that shirt for Chef. Gave it to him yesterday.

“It’s what I do. I COOK. And I know things.”
