    Starting to look like a move to draft Oprah to run against Trump in 2030 is afoot. I’m seeing more and more stories about her possibly running, I’m wondering if Barry has decided to return the favor and push her….there’s a picture.
    As the Rats seem to be unable to field a female candidate who doesn’t remind one of one’s dotty aint Maude who lives with 47 cats, a Ratess who can not interview foreign dictators in an entertaining matter but give Martha Stewart a run for the money in setting a table, should give them a strong suit.
    Then we have Stedman…the first Consort? The first Friend? The first Misteress? Time to move away from the whole ‘married’ concept and get back to the POSSLQ concept. If only we could get him to play the saxophone….
    Ahhhh well, if we can get a totally unqualified black male to assume the POtuS position why not an unqualified black female….it is, aftet all, Federal civil service.

    1789: The Congress created under the new Constitution holds its opening session at the temporary headquarters in New York city, Only nine of the twenty-two Senators were able to show up in time, and only thirteen of the fifty-nine members of the House.

    1791: Vermont ends a brief existence as an independent republic and is admitted to the Union as the fourteenth state.

    1801: Thomas Jefferson is the first president to be inaugurated in Washington, DC.

    1829: (From History.com) On this day in 1829, Andrew Jackson upholds an inaugural tradition begun by Thomas Jefferson and hosts an open house at the White House.

    After Jackson’s swearing-in ceremony and address to Congress, the new president returned to the White House to meet and greet a flock of politicians, celebrities and citizens. Very shortly, the crowd swelled to more than 20,000, turning the usually dignified White House into a boisterous mob scene. Some guests stood on furniture in muddy shoes while others rummaged through rooms looking for the president–breaking dishes, crystal and grinding food into the carpet along the way. (White House staff reported the carpets smelled of cheese for months after the party.) In an attempt to draw partygoers out of the building, servants set up washtubs full of juice and whiskey on the White House lawn.

    The White House open-house tradition continued until several assassination attempts heightened security concerns. The trend ended in 1885 when Grover Cleveland opted instead to host a parade, which he viewed in safety from a grandstand set up in front of the White House.

    In other words, on this day, March 4th in American History, we learn that Congressional members have a long history of not showing up, states fair better as members of the Union, the Clintons and the Obamas weren’t first in attempting to destroy the White House, and that outgoing presidents will declare their accomplishments thorough and complete, while incoming presidents may well have better ideas.

      Around here we call +35 springtime. I awoke to -10 this morning, and beautifully clear blue skies. Since it is March, the sun is adding some real warmth, so now at almost noon, it is already up to +20. Perfect for the Ceremonial Start of IDITAROD!! I’m watching it on live stream at http://www.iditarod.com. Our girl, Aliy Zirkle hasn’t started yet. Her husband, Allen Moore, was a few minutes ago. They are up to #48 out of the 72 mushers that will start. For those who might be new to long distance dog mushing, there is not a mass start where everyone lines up and leaves all at once. They start one at a time, every 2 minutes. Go Aliy!!

        Drat! Aliy was #41, so I missed her start. There will be archived footage that will be available later. One day I would love to be an Iditarider on her sled for the Ceremonial Start. Those positions are bid for and purchased, probably for a high contender like her around $1,000. Rookie mushers are a couple hundred.

    As serious as this accusation is I sure hope he has something really solid to backmtjis up or it can come back to bite him big-time. He’s been a bit quick to Tweet from the hip but accusing a sitting president of deliberately tapping your phones is a big call. If there were a warrant, and the act without one would be a crime, then what was the probable cause and who,provided it? If it were a secret FISA warrant then who provided the info for that route?

      Rat perfidy apologists are already trying to spin the wiretapping by saying that if it did occur saying Federal judge must have found sufficient cause to issue said warrant. Waiting for one to say that under FISA the president can authorize, through the Attorney General, warrantless surveillance of a target for up to a year. There are some parts of this authorization that might have to be lawyer-parsed to make it fit in this case but if you are cock-sure that Hillary was going to win then why not take the chance as she could clean up the trail?

    ST. PAUL, Minn. — A woman who live-streamed the fatal police shooting of her boyfriend during a traffic stop in Minnesota last year was charged Friday in a reported assault.

    Diamond Reynolds and two other women were arrested Thursday after a woman reported being attacked and hit in the head with a hammer on Tuesday morning, police spokesman Steve Linders said. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries but was able to identify the three suspects, he said.

        We can’t continue letting just about anyone steal hammers. There has to be limits on who can steal hammers. Some people who steal hammers might just be using them for things other than framing and roofing! Like attacking people in the head!

    This wiretapping business is going to run very deep and may actually knock Obama and his entourage in the throat if there is any honest reporting done about it. Just look at Paul Ryan’s face. Ryan is hoping that Trump really stepped into a problem and Ryan’s face when Bret Baier reads about the wire tapping is a tell, Ryan gets angry. Ryan as always obfuscates and sticks to his master’s talking points.

    Remember Trump almost always starts with a very broad swipe, the media goes nuts and Trump ends up skewering the opposition.

    During a night dive last January at Gadren Eel Cove in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; a bottlenose dolphin caught in a fishing line approached scuba diver Keller Laros for help.

    The dolphin’s left pectoral fin was stuck, wrapped around fishing line with a hook embedded into its body. The divers, who were well-equipped, signaled the dolphin to come over.

    Thanks to Martina Wing this amazing footage was caught on film.

    So, a wonderful day, our friend Bob’s 80th…. This was the guy with a thoracic aneurysm that kept leaking, and causing trouble.. He has spent so much time in the hospital,,,but now he is home and we are going over for a couple drinks tonight…. No party, he doesn’t want that, but,,, I am so happy he is around. 🙂

    RE Mr. Sessions… I see this guy, listening to people speak, and answering the exact question, because that is what he has been trained to do in the legal field. Lawyers make their living with words and wording… and that level of precision is what caused all of this. Just me.

    And BTW I do not believe one word from X POTUS ever since I lost my health care… He is a liar, plain and simple.

      I had the radio on in the car tonight and just happened to catch the news. The news guy emphasized that President Trump accused Obama of bugging Trump Tower without ANY proof at all. He was very careful to say that and emphatic about it. SMH

      I wouldn’t be surprised if someone did do a covert wiretapping of Trump. It ain’t like the old days when people went and put little clips on your phone lines, monitoring of even waaaaay distant landline phones can be done remotely.
      Remember my saying that laws were written by lawyers for lawyers? I’m betting that’s what this will boil down to…lawyers playing endless and nauseating word games. Remember “that depends on what your definition of ‘is’ is?”. Watch both sides play this game until you scream ‘STOP!’.
