Was going to mention…in one of the most Christian big cities in the US a few churches have set up ‘drive thru’ stations for receiving ashes. As many agencies and businesses are closed on Shrove Monday and Sin Tuesday, being off for long services or lines in church is a no-go with a lot of bosses. The hierarchy of each church involved have…to use and expression…blessed the practice as it’s the receipt of the ashes that’s important and not the location.
Local news is treating the practice as a circus, trying to make it look as if there’s something perfunctory and comical about it. They don’t come right out and attack it, just the way they present the activity. Part of their anti-religion agenda, problem with religious-based violence is religion – no religion, no violence.
I slso note that you do not see any on-camera news persons with ashes any more.

This day in American History: March 3

1634: The first tavern in Boston opens (Samuel Cole)

1812: US passes first foreign aid legislation, for victims of a Venezuelan earthquake

1815: US declares war on Algiers for taking prisoners and demanding tribute.

1842: Massachusetts restricts factory workers under the age of twelve to a ten-hour workday, a forward looking but an unenforceable law.

1845: Florida is admitted to the Union as the twenty-seventh state

1855: At the suggestion of Secretary of War Jefferson Davis, Congress appropriates $30,000 to import Egyptian camels for service in the Southwest. Davis’ plan is to fight Indians by mounting howitzers on the camels’ humps, but the project fails for lack of experienced camelteers.

1873: US Congress & government retroactively raise their own salaries

1871: The Indian Appropriation Act nullifies all treaties with the tribes and makes Indians wards of the federal government.

1931: “Star Spangled Banner” officially becomes US national anthem by congressional resolution

1931: Cab Calloway records “Minnie the Moocher” (Jazz’s 1st million seller)

    Yes. Really. Humps with Howitzers.

Donald Trump is President of the United States of America. And he tweets. I mean HIM, himself. By his own volition. When he wants to, and whatever he wants to.

Obama wasn’t allowed to do that by ValJar and his other handlers. Because Obama was never in charge of even his own life. Sad!

Can anyone imagine being Obama, waking up and looking in the mirror each morning and realizing that fact? That he was never really in charge?

I’m betting Obama is really frikikin’ depressed right now, because he sees what a leader really looks like in Trump.

    • A couple of things. First, did ValJar prevent him, or did O simply not do it? On Twitter President Trump is instantly connected with people who voted for him or want to know what he’s doing, etc. Did O’s handler’s prevent him, or did O not opt to do it because he was better then the “little people”?

Second, i don’t think he’s depressed. he may be, but I’m leaning towards him being angry. The problem with him being angry is that there’s no telling what he might do because of it.

Barack was a marionette, his whole life, up to and including his two terms.

Of his own volition, he was only ever allowed to golf, to vacation, and to play “Brewster’s Trillions” Every other thing he did or said in 8 years, except off-mic, he was told to do or say. Every other place he went, he was told to do so. Unless it was another round of golf, or another spendy vacay, or another attempt at emulating Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder.

        Trump is not similarly leashed.

Because he was planned and made by other people, from before conception.

Obama is an anomaly, I believe. Frank Marshall Davis and Barack, Sr. and Saul Alinsky and Jeremiah Wright and many others made this person. Find some young woman, impregnate her, and make that baby Our Communist/Islamist President.

They actually did it! They made a guy! It’s almost unbelievable, but it happened. Some people actually played God and made a person, and successfully guided him to the presidency of the United States, where he remained a marionette.

Thoughts on Associated Press ‘fact checking’

    http://romesentinel.com/editorials/thoughts-on-associated-press-fact-checking/QBqqca!uZXIZZVbEhz486oZxKAuRw/

    Examples:

The Associated Press in a self-described “fact check” examined President Donald Trump’s claims from his Congressional address.

The Associated Press would serve readers better if it stopped ankle-biting and, instead, refined readers’ understanding of key problems faced by our country. [Hint: even the New York Times, no friend to Trump, supported the accuracy of most of Trump’s claims.]

TRUMP:  “According to the National Academy of Sciences, our current immigration system costs America’s taxpayers many billions of dollars a year.”

AP “FACTS”: That’s not exactly what that report says. It says immigrants “contribute to government finances by paying taxes and add expenditures by consuming public services.” — But Trump says exactly what the report says about first generation immigrants.

TRUMP: “We’ve saved taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars by bringing down the price” of the F-35 jet fighter.

AP “FACTS”: The cost savings he persists in bragging about were secured in full or large part before he became president. — But after Trump had been elected and tweeted about overruns

TRUMP: “Since my election, [many companies] have announced that they will invest billions of dollars in the United States and will create tens of thousands of new American jobs.”

AP “FACTS”: Trump is taking credit for corporate jobs decisions that largely predate his election. — But, the announcements were made after Trump’s election.

AP “FACTS”: The best measure of whether more jobs are actually being created is the monthly employment report issued by the Labor Department . . . on March 10. — But that is different than what Trump claimed.

Trump is using rhetoric, and, as usual, the AP assumes he is using dialectic.

It’s almost an axiom at this point.

The Left assumes the right is using dialectic. They don’t take Trump, or any real conservative seriously, but they take every single line literally. We, on the other hand, take Trump seriously, but we DON’T take every single line literally, because we understand the difference between rhetoric and dialectic.

The same people, the same Progs, do the same thing with the Bible, and despite the fact that we’re not killing witches, assume that we take every line therein literally, too.

        • Sharon says:

As long as they have a self-selected, listening, and believing audience the levels of their stupidity and deviousness are side issues.

Successful lawbreakers can be highly successful in their chosen profession. Stupid and devious people can be highly successful in attaining their goals. The reason our nation is on the ropes is because the success rate of lawbreaking, stupid, and devious people has, for decades, be minimized by those who saw through.

Saying what is so (on the part of observers) does not inherently shed much light on the impact of those who are skilled in lying. They have an audience: they have a very large, self-selected audience.

Particularly in the wake of this election there seems to be a tendency on the part of long-frustrated Americans to go to yahooing as in, “We’ve got them on the run! Yea! Take THAT! And THAT!……” The name calling and recommendation of public shootings without due process of law is now coming from so-called conservative commenters who are present on any number of familiar blogs.

I do not find it difficult at all to believe that stupid and devious people are successful. Believe your ‘lying eyes’, Wooly. Just believe your lying eyes. Stop looking for alternative explanations to their decades of success in persuasion and implementation – they are very, very good at what they do. They have both a domestic and international audience approving of and financing what they do. They do not experience much uncertainty.

For one thing, the AP knows full well that their selected audience couldn’t care less about the difference between dialectic and rhetoric – the fact that they don’t is very useful to AP, and will continue to be in the future. The lack of internal thought processes, cause and effect, etc., on the part of most of our citizens will continue be a very useful thing to “the stupid deceivers.” As long as they get their way and retain their influence, they don’t care if they are called names.

I have never assumed that just because Trump was elected, the ship of state would inevitably be righted. The domestic enemy is deeply invested, infesting every part of our national infrastructure, public and private.

Never. Wow. Maybe Republicans and Democrats “switched sides” again! Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
