          The Two Foundations.
          24
          * “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.r
          25
The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house.s But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.
          26
And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand.
          27
The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”

I don’t think Francis has much of a foundation. I think he is a spiritual and intellectual lightweight, and he is swimming over his head. He is being used, by those both within, and without the Vatican. It seems to me he is both a prideful and spiteful man, and that makes his shortcomings even worse.

I have read articles from this site before, and it seems solid from my not too great experience with it. I avoid the angry sites, the ones that sound like Ann Barnhart. You speak of inflammatory, and many of them are. I don’t know whether this is truth or not, but I don’t find it inflammatory to question the actions and words of this pope who has given us so many things to question. To me, inflammatory is often in the tone and presentation, not the questions.

Evangelization is the work of every Christian. If the words I become known for are those full of hate and anger and rage, scorn and pride, where is the value to one on the brink? I have dabbled across this line myself, and find it a miserable place. I don’t want to take up residence there.

Nether do I want to hide from the truth. The Church has a two thousand year history that has withstood a shaky start with the first pope, who denied Jesus three times, and went on to suffer some really bad guys who didn’t get it together like Peter did. The Catholic Church is led by Jesus Christ. Sometimes his Vicar leaves much to be desired.

I also suspect that Francis intends to do just exactly what he is doing, sew confusion and dissent. Even he cannot, he CAN NOT change dogma, so he tries to muddy the waters, such as he has with the divorced receiving communion issue, knowing that disobedient bishops will run with this, just as they did with illicit practices after Vatican II.

He can’t change truth, so he will change customs. And may God have mercy on his soul for the ill he does to the ignorant.

The papacy is a complex institution. It is so much more than just a man. February 22 was the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter. I won’t even try to go into the meaning and complexity of this Holy Office we Catholics hold dear.

But contrary to what so many believe, it is not about the man. It is thankfully, so very much larger than that. Just as it is easy to see the damage this pope is doing to his flock, so also is it easy to step back in time and look at what Saint John Paul II did not just for the Church, but the world. It was tremendous his impact, and most don’t even begin to know the extent of it.

I believe that the greatest gift he brought to the world started in the mid 1920s when a 20 year old Polish woman entered the convent. The work Jesus set before her would not come to fruition until many years after her 1938 death, and it would take a Polish pope, familiar with St. Faustina’s passionate teachings of the Divine Mercy of Jesus.

The likelihood of a Polish pope? I remember, no one outside Italy had been pope for hundreds of years. I don’t know where we are going to end up with Francis. I don’t know the reason we are stuck with him, other than the apartment apostasy of so many cardinals in the Church. So, I remember the work Jesus set out for one obscure nun in remote villages in Poland, and if I remember right, what became parts of the Soviet Union. 62 years after her death, The pope declared the first Divine Mercy Sunday, the Sunday after Easter.

So, Wooly, just as much as we can look through history and see the depravity of evil that some popes exercised, so also can we look back and find the miraculous and blessings among those who truly chose Jesus, and submitted, as is wholly the purpose of their office, to Him. Even to popes, He gives free will.

I have been Catholic for about 25 years. I made a conscience choice to join the church. My opinion of Pope Francis is that he is to the Catholic Church what Obama was to America. Pope Francis for all his promotion of “peace” seems to focus a lot of vitriol on his own flock.

Pope; It’s better to be an atheist than…

“There are those who say, ‘I am very Catholic, I always go to Mass, I belong to this and that association,’” the head of the 1.2 billion-member Roman Catholic Church said, according to a Vatican Radio transcript.

He said some of these people should also say “‘my life is not Christian, I don’t pay my employees proper salaries, I exploit people, I do dirty business, I launder money, (I lead) a double life.’”

“There are many Catholics who are like this and they cause scandal,” he said. “How many times have we all heard people say, ‘If that person is a Catholic, it is better to be an atheist.’”

Think about the term I bolded: Noble Defeat.

Conservative: “Yup, we lost. But we have the moral high ground. So there.”

The alt-right is sick and tired of losing just so we can preen and hold our heads high.

We’re tired of bringing a feather pillow to an M1-A1 Abrams tank-fight.

SABO is alt-right. The winning team goes on the offense. Conservatives have played defense for far, far too long.

I just yelled out “Whassup, Honkey!” to a black dude who was bringing some garbage to the dumpster. He stopped in his tracks, and looked up at me with, well, something, in his eyes. In three minutes I easily had him laughing at the absurdity of being offended, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be friendly acquaintances, if not friends. Never seen him before in my life, but he works for my former bossman of 9 years, and I helped to build the place he works in.

Life got more fun when I stopped giving a crap about offending people, and when I started doing so just to provoke thought. Haven’t been punched in the face, or stabbed or shot yet.

That’s painting with a very broad brush. Not all Conservatives say that. The Alt-Right comes across as applying the term Conservative to everyone who claims to be on the Right who isn’t them. Maybe they don’t intend it but that’s what I see happening. Either you are in with the cool kids or you’re not, and if you’re not, then you are as bad as the enemy. Maybe that’s intentional, maybe it’s not. But I’m tired of seeing it.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
