It does have what is referred to as a “decorative” moat. You can see water in a canal behind the castle, and along one side. It is also set on a lake.

I have told her if I when the lottery I want to retain her services to start my art collection. Which will just be nicely framed pictures I get her to find for me.

Give me a break. I was my parents’ remote control. We had rabbit ears on top of the tv. I actually owned a Commodore 64. I know how to drive a straight shift. And coffe was made in a percolator. Milk got delivered to our porch before anybody was awake. A man walked through the neighborhood pushing a cart selling ice cream. Stores closed up at 5pm. Almost everything was closed weekends. Everybody went to the gas station on Friday to fill up for the weekend so they would have enough gas for anything that might happen.

We didn’t have a television until I was five years old. All that was on was the fights and 1930’s era cartoons.

We got a TV when I was 13…only got one station and a lot of “snow” on the screen. At midnight, they did an AF jet plane fly over clip with the Star Spangled banner playing, then went to a test pattern all nite….Loved me a good “test pattern”….but, everyone went to be close to 9 PM anyway, so no one cared.

We had a tv as far back as I remember, but I do remember when we got the first color tv. That was a big, exciting day.

We were in GITMO until I was 6 and when we came back we rented a house from a friend of my parents and they had a TV. One in a beautiful cabinet with a little roundish screen. I didn’t get a color TV until 1975. A friend went to Viet Name and left it with us.

My dad was in the Navy. Born in Texas, moved to D.C., Panama, Norfolk, GITMO, and back to Norfolk. All that by the time I was 7.

Betting she was a Naval dependent. Before the detention camp stole the light Gitmo was primarily a naval base, arguably the best deep water naval’port in tne Caribbean. Castro so desperately wants it back as he can lease it out to the Russians or Chinese as a naval base that they could use to block US Gulf egress and ingress. Submarines could also operate enntering and leaving port submerged.

We got the first color TV when I was 11 or 12. I remember my argument to Tundra Dad for getting it: TV Guide magazine had recently changed from designating which shows were in color to which shows were in black and white. In my mind, a sea change portending a future of all color, so we had better get with it. For once, he agreed.

Good afternoon pattern! I’m in N Texas/DFW area. Yesterday it was sunny and mid 70’s, today it’s been overcast and drizzly mid 60’s. We really didn’t have much winter at all and the trees are all sprouting leaves. Early spring here, Punxitawney Phil got the forecast wrong for my part of the country. 😉

New memo out from DHS outlining the illegal immigration directives. 19 pages, but so far they’ve covered fines for anyone facilitating illegals staying, identifying who has lied to get benefits, and expanded identifying those who will be detained. Further, it spells out that following the directive is NOT allowable by any administrator within the program {to include, I believe, any renegade BP agents who ignore doing their jobs}.

Under removability watch that ‘charged with any offense that hasn’t been resolved’ as I can see them contesting that as punishment without a legal determination of guilt. Didn’t read the entire thing as iPad wouldn’t enlarge it but if there isn’t a severance clause the entire thing could be dumped if any small part if found to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable.

Just saying, this is a cultural war and they have nothing to do but block and fight Trump just as we fought and blocked Obama as much as we could.
I’d suggest that Trump finds a way to reconcile with the intelligence community and FBI though. Carter tried to destroy the Company and lated one term, Kennedy crossed them and didn’t even make three years.

This guy is very entertaining. He was from Bosnia, I think, and moved to Sweden as a refugee when he was a little boy. I am posting this here so I don’t get jumped on over on the “Swedish” thread. Interesting point of view about Sweden, but also about Russia, and U.S. involvement in the Middle East (Iraq and Syria). Language alert.

Sweden and Denmark control acceess to the North Atlantic from the Baltic Sea and Russia’s Baltic Fleet, headquartered st St Petersburg, and its nuke base at Kaliningrad would basically be boxed in. The Baltic fleet could only get onto the Atlantic by wriggling its way through Danish waters or making a run thru the straits between Sweden and Denmark.
Last year Russia asked Sweden to rent it space on Gotland Island, presumably for a naval base, that would have given it more flexibility in naval operations – Sweden politely declined. Interestingly, shortly after the Swedes declined the offer the government put the country back into a Cold War footing fearing a Russian invasion.
Sweden is a NATO partner and not a full member, that gives them the ability to get NATO protection if needed while retaining a cover of neutrality. All considered, especially of what happened in the Crimea when Russia needed to secure its Black Sea basing, Sweden is experiencing a bit of paranoia.
Then there’s the theory that the Russians are looking for a source of weaponized surstromming but that’s just a rumor.

Aricept’s working for me…just remembered that a year ago the Swedish government demanded an international investigation of Israeli ‘extrajudicial executions’ of Moslem murderers. They didn’t call for an international investigation of Moslem and Moslem government extrajudicial assassinations, just Israeli. Then we have that growth in antisemitic crimes in Sweden over the last twenty years or so.
Let ’em have allllll the Moslems they want, can’t wait to see the beer commercials featuring the Swedish burqini team.

Had the need to talk dirty today, so this Teacher went to see her student, Son.
Having taught Son IBM IT hacking, rebellious Son went to Apple, the hardware and software of wimps, and Son hacked school’s network (the traitor).
So this p.m. Son shared his Apple Cloud and talked through our common language, Oracle, and Son reminded Teacher how to find new tools in the Cloud.
You see, Son and Teacher share the same DNS. How easy it is to talk dirty with one’s head in the same Cloud.

My apologies…I have been corrected by a friend (yes, I still have a few) who still toils away in Federal civil service. I misstated the number of days I didn’t have to work and still was paid. It seems I forgot the local holiday of Mardi Gras and we had twelve, not eleven paid holidays. So, a career civil servant who is also a Reserve/Guard member received (here) 67 paid work days a year off were s/he to use them all. If anyone were wondering, said employee would still accrue personal and sick leave while said employee was on leave.
