Mary, have read this article before, always good to re read. I do want to read the transcripts of Gen. Flynn’s phone call. In addition, a “cell” of the left has been unmasked. Time to go on the attack. Prosecute those involved to the fullest extent of the law. In addition, release the “secret” Iran deal……..let the American people see how fast and loose these people were……

Crap, I have had it. My roof is leaking, I am tired of fighting the good fight. I have worked my butt off my entire life and life just keeps throwing me shit. My husband passed way 20 years ago and I have done most of what I have alone. I bought an ugly old single wide and turned it into a great looking home. I had a 20 by 40 shop built and I firred it out, insulated and sheeted the whole thing by my self. I bought a tractor and leveled and landscaped 7 acres by myself. I am tired. None of the lights in my living room work. Yes, I can do electrical. I just don’t give a crap anymore. My mailbox is snowed in and the mail carrier is not allowed to get out of their vehicle to put mail in the box. I stood in the freezing rain for 20 minutes so I could stop her and get the mail I have not received in a week. Sorry guys, I just needed to vent. Tomorrow I will pull myself up by my boot straps and carry on. I have no choice.

A very hard lesson I am trying to learn. I have helped people my entire life. It is hard for me to ask for help and even harder to let some people go that I know I should. I have not worked in four years and have been living off an annuity I started 25 years ago. Next month I should start receiving Social Security. I waited in freezing rain for 30 minutes yesterday for the mail lady hoping the final letter I needed would come. It didn’t. the mail lady is a good friend and she is going to call me today before she gets to the house. I am also looking at selling my tractor. I really cannot physically sit in an open cab in 20 degree weather to plow snow anymore. The money I can make from selling it will pay for a lot of things I need done around the property. None of the lights in my living room are working. A few years ago I would have fixed it myself, but now days I just don’t have the desire to do it anymore. The kitchen faucet is not working right and I plan to tackle that today. I need to get off the self pitty kick and get my butt in gear. I have done it many times before, so I can do it again. Thanks for all the support from Stella’s warriors.

Here’s what you need for a good roofing patch compound: http://us.henry.com/roofing/mastics-and-cements/208-wet-patch-roof-leak-repair/ This product works even if it’s raining. It’s also known by roofers as ‘Bear shit’ (it’ll get on everything it comes within 20′ of). I used it on our home and it lasted for years, still didn’t leak when we re-roofed a decade later. You have to know *where* to apply it. I’d hire a local employed roofer who takes on side jobs

And, if that fails, maybe I could send you some of my ceramic biscuit dough. You couldn’t put it on when it is raining, but once you put it on and it dried out, it would be like ceramic. And, impervious to the rain. 😀 Just don’t get hungry and bake it and try to eat it, you might break a tooth. 😯

I worked at a home improvement store for 20 years. What I can not figure out is where the leak is. I have lived here for 1- years and the roof has never leaked in this area. I need some good weather to see if I have damage that is new this year. All other leaks have been sealed with similar products you have listed. This is something that has just happened in the last few days.

Does your trailer have a shingled or metal roof? If it’s metal, you can buy a paint on coating that is fairly cheap and stop the leak. My husband did it for his aunt 5 years ago, materials cost about $100 and if I remember correctly it’s guaranteed for 15 years. It took him about 30 minutes to roll it on.

The trouble with owning anything is something is always having to be fixed.

I have paid four different people in the last three years to fix the leaks. It is still leaking. We have used the metal coating, flashing, new metal and a bunch of foam sealant. I have been fighting this for years and thought the last guy I paid got it right. Nope, more money down the rat hole!

If they could pinpoint the leak, they could try roofing cement. I’ve never seen anything it couldn’t seal.
It’s strange that the roll on stuff didn’t work. We used it on one of our barn roofs and although it was not recommended to use on barn tin, it worked on it as well. It saved us a lot of time and money by not having to replace it.

I am thinking that one f the wind storms we had this winter may have damaged something on the roof. It has been raining for 24 hours now, so I cannot get up there to see.

            • michellc says:

It could have, we had that to happen to our hot water vent flashing. It pulled it up just enough to leak by breaking the seal, but not enough for it to be noticeable. Found the source after a rain by using a water hose.
It was misleading as well because the water was running in a way to make the leak appear nowhere near the vent.

Life’s struggles seem to get harder as we age. I sat down and cried when I realized I had no choice but to move into an apartment after my divorce. Lucky for me, my friend who lived here brought me to check out this complex after I moved here. It isn’t like a lot of apartments. So I finally was okay with it. And, I don’t have to deal with any maintenance problems. Well, I also don’t have to deal with snow, either. Hope things get better real soon. ❤

I understand the cessation of giving a crap. Been there many times myself.

And you are correct. You have no choice, but to live, and live well.

I cleaned my apartment yesterday and today. You should have seen it. I’m glad you didn’t. I wouldn’t want anybody here at Stella’s Place to see it. If they all did, they’d probably help me clean it up.

Know that you’re surrounded, at least here, at this place, by people who love you.

Get low, sometimes, Shiloh but please, never give up.

Super-soaker: Atmospheric River taking aim on beleaguered #OrovilleDam

We’ve already had two big events like this so far this year, now forecasts show a clear pattern of a heavily moisture laden “atmospheric river” taking aim directly onto the Oroville Dam watershed over the next week. Accumulated precipitation forecasts show that the Lake Orovile watershed will score a direct hit with the maximum amount of precipitation over the next 10 days (see graphic near bottom of this article).

Above: Computer forecast models indicate a powerful jet stream will continuously pound California over the next ten days and bring copious amounts of moisture from off of the Pacific Ocean into the state. Just in case anyone has wondered (I know it’s never occurred to me), more than a few Russians do not want the sanctions against their country lifted. Apparently the farmers were forced to actually work and grow things in the last year or two. Many Russians have not been able to purchase locally grown or manufactured products and goods since the end of the Soviet Union.
Trade agreements and treaties had made it so only foreign ingredients and goods were available on store shelves.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.

I’m watching the Investigation Didcovery channel, ‘The Detectives Club: New Orleans’, the ‘A Deal With the Devil’ episode. The NOPD captsin on it, CPT Winn, is the SWAT captain I’d posted about who was one of the prime targets in the Katrina-related Glover ‘burned body’ and Danziger Bridge shootings. The officer I mentioned went through multiple state trials (found not guilty in all) and two Federal trials, one of which had Eric Holder standing on the federal court house steps saying the Feds eere going yo bury him (not guilty in both trials).
CPT Winn was one of the NOPD rank who, during Katrina, rallied a broken department, created operating posts and did an amazing job of holding the department and the city together. Shortly sfter the city regained its feet the Powers That Be decided to cut the heads off of every officer who dared speak the truth about what happened during the storm.
If you get a chance find the episode and watch it, you’ll get a small taste of what kind of a man and officer he is.
