Business reasoning again. Trump knew that he’s really stuck with taking those refugees in but if he rattles the PM’s cage, especially as Australia’s under Aussie court and international pressure to dismantle those hell-hole camps and relocate the residents, the Aussie PM will be beholding. Trump knows that the US has agreed to take half of the refugees and Australia’s ‘friends’ are waffling about taking any. If Trump rocks the Aussie boat by letting the PM know there’s a large segmentnof the US population that doesn’t want them here and would cheer his not upholding the deal he lets the Aussies know he wants something back in return and Obama’s letting the US be the international beeatch is over. The art of the deal.

From:noreply@messages.whitehouse.gov To: dncpress@gmail.com Date: 2016-05-11 20:55 Subject: Readout of the President’s Call with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull of Australia

This afternoon, the President spoke by phone with Australian Prime Minister Turnbull to review a number of bilateral and regional issues. The President thanked Prime Minister Turnbull for Australia’s important contributions to the fight against ISIL. The two leaders reaffirmed their common commitment to key principles in addressing maritime disputes, in particular ensuring freedom of navigation and the peaceful resolution of disputes, including through arbitration, in accordance with international law. The President underscored his commitment to securing Congressional approval of the Trans-Pacific Partnership this year, and thanked Australia for its cooperation on the Paris agreement on climate change. The two leaders also discussed the need to work together to address the global glut in steel.

I don’t think so. Generally calls between heads of state are pro forma diplomatic events but Trump seems to have broken the mold. If he’s doing what I thonk hecis he’s coming on as a business leader and not a pol. At first meeting he let the Aussie PM know he’s a different breed by not following the usual and expected butt-sniffing, by letting the PM know he’s POTUS, he won big and he’s not a political player. Sort of like the Aussie PM got onto the soccer field and found the US fielded a synchronized swimming team.
Ditto the Mex cartel head posing as a president.
That ‘bad hombres’ remark sorta let El POtuS know that, after decades of Mex pols aiding and abetting cartels and Moslem terrorists, if Mexico doesn’t start to clean house the US has an entire arsenal of cleaning supplies it can unleash on the bad guys. Remember, Trump said thst nothing was off the table. Instead of the Mexican Matines marching in to take out rural drug centers, their presence frequently heralded long before their actual arrival, a Predator could do the more stealthyer and effectiver.
I like the calls letting foreign pols know that it’s a new day and a new page, their internationalist and neuter-America plans are on hold for four years at least.

A 23-year-old Afghan woman has described to the BBC how her husband tied her up and cut off both her ears in a domestic violence attack in the northern province of Balkh.

The woman – Zarina – is now in a stable but traumatised condition in hospital.

“I haven’t committed any sin,” she said. “I don’t know why my husband did this to me.”

The woman’s husband is on the run in Kashinda district following the attack, police have told local media.

Zarina told Pajhwok news that the unprovoked attack took place after her husband suddenly woke her up.

She was married at the age of 13, and told BBC that “relations with her husband were not good”.

Maybe the writer is correct and this is some devilry going on in a Disney movie, but I doubt it.

(I “liked” your post to let you know I am responding, Rhea.)

Yes, the 1991 Beast has horns–but they are bull’s horns. The deliberate symbolism behind the use of a bull is VERY different than the symbolism behind the use of a goat. ‘Symbolism that goes back centuries.

I’ve done a lot of studying of evil, and you could say that my husband’s lines of work qualify him as an expert in that area. There is more to all this than you can imagine.

I’d like to think it means nothing, but I’m afraid it does. There is plenty of devilry going on, and it is not just in Disney movies. It is extremely easy to introduce warped and twisted thinking when using entertainment. I don’t need to list any examples–we are all aware of hundreds.

One job I had as a teenager was day care assistant, we had one little girl whose parents were most often in their car waiting for the doors to open (6 am) and then always one of the last to pick up their child, we closed at 7 pm. The child was far more attached to her teacher than her parents.

Did I mention the director was a psychopath?

I was 16 and about as clueless as a 16 year old when it came to many things.

We had a little 3 year old girl who was my absolute favorite. She was so full of life and funny. One day when we were waiting with the last few children I had them have a bunny hop race. They hopped the length of one room and back. After Micky doing it about 3 times the director who had been sitting on her fat butt eating powdered sugar donuts walked in and yelled at me and said said “Micky is not supposed to exert herself because of her heart!”

Well. I had never been told that Micky had any condition. When her mom came to pick her up I talked to her and got the story and yes she had to be careful with prolonged physical activity. I told her that the director never told me that until today and what we had been doing because I was afraid that maybe I endangered her. The hopping was fine.

Anyhow, the mom a single mom and I became pals, I ended up with a great babysitting job and spent lots of time with Micky.

Sorry ! Long story, with lots of side trails.

I ran an in-home daycare for several years. I didn’t have too many problems, but I couldn’t believe some of the stories I heard from other daycare providers. Most had parents who didn’t pick their child up until the last minute, even if they were off from work. And, several had had to call child services to come get the children because the parent never showed up.

When I lived in NC I had a neighbors who didn’t take care of their child, I had her on the weekends and the mornings before she went to day care and the evenings after she got home. She was a very young three (maybe even still in her twos) when she first started coming to my house and sitting on the front porch with her bug juice (sugar water from a gas station) and Cheetos for breakfast.

            🙄

They moved away. I often think I should have offered to keep her. I feel like there is good chance they would have said yes as long as they could visit once in a while.

          • I knew a family where both parents worked, and the mother was concerned about being home by a certain time because the daycare charged $5 a minute if parents were late picking up their kids and she didn’t want to be late.

It’s kind of sad that the daycare had to do that. But I can’t say I blame them.

I did that. You have to. The only caveat was that I would wave it if they called me to let me know what was going on. I had really good parents. One couple was a lawyer and his wife, who was the office manager in his office. They worked in downtown San Diego. It was a good 40 min drive without traffic problems. We didn’t have cell phones back then, but they were good about calling ahead if they knew they would be late. They never took advantage of me and I really appreciated them.

His Mama and Dad were having problems when he was about 6 months old and they split up. She’d met me once for a few days but she let me fly him here and keep him while she tried to get her life together. Six months later it wasn’t going like she’d hoped so we flew out here and they both lived with us while she went to school.
We’ve had a vested interest in them ever since, she’s the daughter I never had and he’s becoming a little me. I can’t tell you how many abandoned, even if they have a parent(s) at home I saw on the streets. I’m talking kids as young as 3 wandering around in dirty diapers and ducking on a bottle of Kool-Aid, family is family.

From my reading on Kent State, the student population was the majority, with a small number of outside agitators. What caused the shooting was this; Soldiers reportedly heard gun shots, then a student ran down the hill, yelling they got guns and are going to shoot you…..then a mass of students ran towards the Soldiers, then the Soldiers opened fire…..that’s the brief story.

Do you know of someone suffering from…..
Trump Unacceptance and Resistance Disorder (TURD) ?
Know the signs, spot the symptoms, and save a life.

TURD is a pattern of pathologically dissociative and psychotic behavior, first observed in the late hours of November 8th 2016, and increasing in severity with passing time.

Sufferers of TURD often exhibit pronounced cognitive dissonance, sudden bouts of rage, rioting, and uncontrollable crying.

People with TURD are characterized by a persistent unwillingness to accept that Donald Trump is going to Make America Great Again.

TURD Is caused by the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. For many, both in America and worldwide, this was a shocking and unexpected outcome; their preferred news sources having failed to inform them that the alternative candidate was a criminal parasite in such ill health she got chucked into the back of a van like a kidnap victim.

Research is ongoing, but TURD appears to correlate closely with the following environmental and behavioral factors:
    Membership in the Democratic Party
    Identifying as a Feminist
Currently enrolled in college, and/or Possession of a Liberal Arts college degree
Living in a densely populated metropolitan area
    Massive student debt
    Spotty or non-existent work history

Patients with TURD are very resistant to treatment, and dangerous in large groups. Any possibility of treatment requires that they be separated from their hive-mind support apparatus; they cannot begin the process of accepting reality in the presence of encouragement towards delusion and irrationality. Separation may require the assistance of law enforcement.

If you have a friend or loved one suffering from TURD, urge them to seek treatment.
The first step in treatment is to admit you are a TURD.

    http://blog.dilbert.com/post/156628357041/is-president-trump-doing-management-wrong

Let me explain another management concept that the pundits don’t understand because, generally speaking, they don’t have the right kind of education or experience to analyze a business process.

There are two basic styles of management. One is the cautious style of Fortune 500 companies. The other is the rapid-iteration and A/B testing style of entrepreneurs. Trump is bringing the latter style to the office. The markers for this style of management include:

    1. Rapid and decisive hiring and firing.

    2. Bias toward action.

    3. Rapid A/B testing. Release the early beta version and judge reactions. Adjust accordingly.

    4. Emphasis on the psychology of success. Entrepreneurial management includes lots of persuasion and bullshit because entrepreneurs have to fake it until they make it. In other words, they have to create demand via persuasion.

Ask your favorite leftist to build:

Casinos. Golf courses. Hotels. Resorts. Casinos.

And then ask him or her if he can do that without “governing”.

Watch the jaw drop, and the invective flow.

Skyscrapers, in place of one of my Casinos. Either, I don’t care which.

You will not receive a rational response to the question.

The left is all out of rational responses.

I think that describes what he is doing. I don’t know, though, that it is the wrong one to use. I wonder if this is not the best one to use because of what needs to be done and the pressure from the left and right.

The link takes you an article that is addressing a particular facet of the “refugee” problem but in the process it incorporates a lot of information about the general issues.

I think it’s a good summary of WHY this thing is rotten from top to bottom and cannot be fixed.

    It has to be stopped.

“Coming to the USA is not a right” – I’m glad that phrase is showing up here and there in the last few days.

I wonder if anyone reads what is sent on the White House website? I sent a message on it this morning suggesting that if an Imam speaks at a function, that he MUST do it in English, or have a translator right there translating it in real time. There should never be an exception. Oh, I did mention that there have been instances where what the Imam said was a curse on us.

You might want to read the CTH article about DHS and the border wall. I would have reblogged it (which I don’t usually do), but Sundance has apparently turned off the reblogging capability.

You know, I just had a thought. Since it is so rare I wanted to share it. 🙄
All day I have heard them mention on the news the large amount of money that we sent to Iran. I know the reasoning that it was sent in cash instead of bank funds, or something else. I wonder if one of the reasons was that once they had it in Iran, there was no getting it back. If it had been sent by bank funds and discovered by Congress, soon enough, they might have wanted to stop the transfer. Does that make any sense? That makes it even more sinister that Obama did it that way.

    I came across this tonight:
A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his eyes, signals’ with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing. Proverbs 6:12-15

Talk about a bunch of PO’d people, there are hundreds of NOLA project denizens who’ve discovered that their Rat city government they elected sold them down the drain.
Post-Katrina the city government negotiated a new development for public housing. They tore down a number of dilapidated, crime-infested projects and built that sunny-cottage row and low-rise multi-income housing. Buried mine was that from ten to twenty years from the date it was occupied the housing rents would revert to market levels, no more subsidy. Whoops.
Now many residents getting subsidies are discovering they are screwed and are coming close to being homeless.
Now they’re pressuring the current mayor and city council to renegotiate the original contracts in their favor. Remember, these folks are longtime project residents meaning they have little idea of how business contracts work. In their worlds if you find you’ve stepped on your own toe you just demand a do-over, to hell with the legalities, IT JUST AIN’T FAIR so you just ignore it.
So they’ve been given until October to work something out but thry are choosing instead to demonstrate, complain and hope that the all-giving benevolent government reneges on its deal with the developers and remain their sugar-daddy.

😯 President Trump expects his administration to have good posture, good grooming, and dress well. He likes for the women to wear dresses. Oh, noes. Tell me it isn’t so. How shocking!
