Rather than trying to explain this rather legalistic document myself, I suggest that you read an excellent analysis presented by POWERLINE BLOG.
Read the entire analysis, but I’ll excerpt a bit of it here:

As the author (Scott Johnson) suggests, it is worth reading the entire order. As he also says, the reform of visa, refugee and immigration policy implicit in the terms of the executive order are, to say the least, long overdue.

Johnson points out that the NYT’s authors say that the Order give priority to Christian refugees, although I don’t see that in the Executive Order. Perhaps there is an additional Order. This kind of confusion happened with the two Executive Orders regarding illegal immigration issued on January 25.

They are stopping people with green cards! Not in the EO that I could find. They live here, work here and have families here. DHS spokesman says green cards included. This is going to cause major riots.

In a briefing for reporters on Saturday, White House officials said that green card holders from the seven affected countries who are outside the United States would need a case-by-case waiver to return to the United States.
So they are stopping non-citizens from the seven countries, even if they have a green card, and will issue waivers on a case-by-case basis. I don’t see a problem. They are also advising green card holders in the U.S. from these countries to check with a consular representative before leaving the country.

One question that I have been asking elsewhere.
America has been having its own little, actually big refugee problem for several decades now. Think about it our Illegals are Refugees of South and North American. Middle Eastern Refugees are almost the same as our Illegals. I mean the Illegals spout almost the exact same reasons for fleeing to America.
Why isn’t the UN urging the Europeans to equal out the load a bit. Right now I do believe that we have way more Refugees/Illegals that all of Europe.
But the real question I have and have had for many years is

But, wait a sec. I read the order and Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen are not mentioned in it.
Go back and read it again. Do a “ctrl-f” to find “Iraq”. Where is “Iraq” in the order. It’s not there. Only Syria is there. So where are the seven nations? Where is the “Muslim ban”? It turns out this was a form of fake news, or alternative facts. Trump didn’t select seven “Muslim-majority” countries. US President Barack Obama’s administration selected these seven Muslim-majority countries.

In February 2016 “The Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries.” It noted “the three additional countries designated today join Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria as countries subject to restrictions for Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals.” It was the US policy under Obama to restrict and target people “who have been present in Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, at any time on or after March 1, 2011 (with limited government/military exceptions).” This was text of the US Customs and Border Protection in 2015 relating to “the Visa Waiver Program and Terrorist Travel Protection Act of 2015“. The link even includes the seven nation list in it: “Iraq, Syria, Iran, SUdan, Somalia or Yemen.” And the media knew this back in May 2016 when some civil rights groups complained about it.

Let’s pare this back to its roots: we can not effectively check the backgrounds of the overwhelming majority of these Moslem ‘immigrants’. Period.
I was a Special Security Officer, DIA trained and certified, and clearing Ameticans fir SCI access was a pain while we still had an agency dedicated to just doing that. Clinton destroyed it, threw the job to those civilian contractors who botched it so badly, then it was given yonthe EEO/Welfare to Work garbage agency, OPM. My final two TS/SCI bring-ups were done by OPM and when I contacted the previous employers and my references NONE were ever contacted by any investigator. When two friends whom I’d used ascreferences and had in turn used me checked – same thing, no one ever contacted any body. One investigstor told me, off the cuff, that as I’d had a unbroken TS clearance for over twenty years and that the poor investigators were overworked they probably just pencil whipped it as I looked good.
Now let’s look at the investigstors chosen to clear Moslem immigrants from broken countries that can’t even clear goats from the streets, what kind of longterm records infrastructure did they have BEFORE everyone started bombing and shooting up the country? Then we hsve the Feds adding a battalion of new investigators, as if a good investigator can be made out of an ex Mickey Ds fry cook in an eight week course. Investigators who do not speak the languages, never mind the dialects and who were given a POtuS order to cut the vetting period from months to weeks, and whatcha got?
Don’t even try to tell me ISIA, AQ or whoever isn’t training plants in how to get past expert interviewers never mind TSA dropouts. You could say you can’t stop all the terrorists but that’s no excuse to allow them in wholesale.
The CIA had its and the Brits’ programs in South/Central America blown, at one time, by Cuban double agents that fooled well-trained interrogators who were clearing them for operations. How the **** can ‘eight week wonders’ fresh out of a can’t-fail program stop plants? Not as it a ****load ain’t already here.

If there are documents you can bet most are fake. How you gonna vet the document’s authenticity? We also have the isdue that UN-related NGOs and UN agencies just flat out issue identity documents with generally little more than the applicant’s word which may be seconded by the guy in line behind him. How about those official but phony identity documents issued by various groups sympathetic to the Nazis post-WWII? And there were plenty after that in other wars.

In a way it doesn’t matter, passports from certain countries are (or at least were) looked at with a jaundiced eye. It ain’t all that hard to get real passports in a phony name, if you have a fist full of cash, you’re in.
Old Bloc countries used to issue passports to terrorists all of the time and bad guys have a way into passport agencies just like they do US DMV offices around the country. I’d waterboard certain tourists right at Customs but it would probably slow up the lines.

The Muslim Brotherhood organization, Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), has been announcing on their Facebook and Twitter pages that they are going to reverse President Trump’s recent immigration orders.
How? Primarily via Christian and Jewish groups who have been participating in the Brotherhood creation, Interfaith.
Interfaith is a well-planned strategy created in the 1980’s to infiltrate non-Muslim religious groups in order to feed them false information about Islam and to indoctrinate them into believing Islam is peaceful and harmless, but also, primarily to use these groups to advance their pro-Islamic agenda.

Our NOLA mayor Mitch Landrieu was on CN today explaining how the city’s not a sanctuary city. It’s following a policy of ‘arrest criminals’ and not arresting people on immigration violations, after all the PD’s operating on a Federal consent decree and they can’t profile. Of course the large Latino, post-Katrina population, their political organizations and the profusion of Latino TV and radioa stations have nothing to do with it. Neither does the archdiocese and it’s long connection with the illegal Latino Catholic community.
No no, hizonnah da mayor reiterated his deep commitment to fighting violent crime (they sorta done give up on lesser crimes) instead of policing honest, hardworking Catholic Latino illegal aliens. Again, that salves the denial of those who’ve moved here since Katrina but those of us who’ve been here a loooooong time just take city government promises to lower violent crime as part of the background noise. After all, the Usual Suspect groups that so heavily whine about Da Man hassling their innocent young mens just out for an innocent walk…at 3 AM…in a high crime area…carrying a gun… vote too.

Federal immigration law also includes Section 1182(f), which states: “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate” (emphasis added).

A federal judge in Brooklyn, New York issued an emergency stay on Saturday that temporarily blocks the U.S. government from sending people out of the country after they have landed at a U.S. airport with valid visas.
The American Civil Liberties Union estimates the stay will affect 100 to 200 people detained at U.S. airports or intransit, but government lawyers could not confirm that number.
The ruling by Judge Ann Donnelly of the U.S. District Courtfor the Eastern District of New York came during a hearing called after President Donald Trump issued an executive order blocking people from seven Muslim-majority from entering the United States and putting a temporary halt to refugee admissions.

The judge did not order that those in limbo should be allowed to enter the U.S., just that they shouldn’t be deported for the moment. I guess that those who aren’t granted entry by immigration will be put into detention of some sort.

What is this nonsense I am reading about Mo Farah telling his children maybe he can’t come home ? He is a UK citizen even though he was born in Somalia. He and his family live in the USA. All emotional manipulation to further incite the ignorant Soros crowd.
And Mo is apparently willing to terrify his children to push an agenda.

CNN and others are still referring to it as “Trump’s list” even though the countries are not named in the EO. It is “Obama’s list”.
