Open Your Heart To Patriotism …

At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other. When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.

Donald Trump, January 20, 2017

Hat tip to Menagerie, who said, “It’s a new and hope filled day! Here’s my favorite of all the vids.”

The music is The Battle Hymn Of The Republic, by Julia Ward Howe. It is about the judgment of the wicked (Old Testament, Isaiah 63; New Testament, Rev. 19) and became the hymn of abolitionism during the American Civil War.

This is the comment my sister in law made to my post on Facebook.

This is for me the patriotic equivalent of the Old Mass in the dignity of ritual and homage to the Sacred Past!!

This man and his family understand man's cry for leadership, ritual, dignity, and hope. This is so much more than a moment of celebration. It is an American declaration, a promise, a beginning bearing witness and homage to the path we have already trod, signaling a return to American strength, hope, values.

I believe this man will become a leader, a force to be reckoned with. These rituals, these moments will stand the test of time in the effect they bring to our people, our country.

    Thank you, Menagerie.

Pope Francis, yesterday, to President Trump:

Upon your inauguration as the forty-fifth President of the United States of America, I offer you my cordial good wishes and the assurance of my prayers that Almighty God will grant you wisdom and strength in the exercise of your high office.

At a time when our human family is beset by grave humanitarian crises demanding far-sighted and united political responses, I pray that your decisions will be guided by the rich spiritual and ethical values that have shaped the history of the American people and your nation’s commitment to the advancement of human dignity and freedom worldwide.

Under your leadership, may America’s stature continue to be measured above all by its concern for the poor, the outcast and those in need who, like Lazarus, stand before our door. With these sentiments, I ask the Lord to grant you and your family, and all the beloved American people, his blessings of peace, concord and every material and spiritual prosperity.

For the past eight years, our nation has suffered under the hobnailed boot of the most godless, amoral and corrupt administration in our history. I think it can be easily stated that nothing demonstrates the sheer strength of America than the fact we survived during this time of abject darkness.

But now, a new day is dawning and our challenge becomes to repair the damage that’s been done to our country. As for the pro-life issue, none of us can know whether President Trump’s actions will match his campaign rhetoric. Only time will answer that. But what we do know is that if we humble ourselves before God and ask Him to guide President Trump through the coming years, and if the President will be still and accept God’s counsel, our land will be healed.

On this inauguration day, that is where we must place our hope for the future.

I am so proud of our new First Family and President.
I am appalled at the influx of Marching Vagina Chronicles….these humanoids do not represent anyone or anything that I have personal acquaintance with, and for this I am truly grateful.

Imagine all the folks Trump has spoken with, and even worked with.

You don’t build skyscrapers, golf courses, resorts, hotels, and casinos — without getting to know the people installing the machines, screeding the concrete, picking the colors, painting the trimwork, and grouting the tiles — because they’re your employees.

Leftists have the gall to say Trump hasn’t any governing experience.

      Are you flippin’ kidding me.

Trump’s properties are still well-maintained, because he knows how to govern.

Obama “built” one thing, in his life. In his whole, entire, empty life.

I just watched this again. Everything about it is perfect. I wonder who did the fireworks. I’ll see if I can find out. The “USA” in the sky and the flag at the end were amazing. I particularly liked the cloud-like (with stars) effects during this verse:

In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the Sea,
    With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
    While God is marching on.

    Amazing.

Couldn’t find out for sure, but I’ll bet it is Zambelli. They have done a lot of fireworks displays in Washington for decades, and are a very big company. They do the Detroit-Windsor Freedom Festival fireworks, which is one of the largest displays in the world.

That was the most amazing fireworks display I have ever seen. It was so organized the way it went off. And, the USA was unbelievable. I can’t even imagine how they did that.
