God Bless America and our new America loving Leader, President Donald J. Trump and his lovely wife and family.

The Clintons stole the silver and antiques from the White House when THEY left….at least they seemed to have taste in their theft.

The Obamas will steal the toilet paper, and ham sammich materials and boxes of wine out of the pantry……

You are not alone, amwick. Another nobody, sitting here in her hermitage, sits with you. (ok, am standing…) The sky is crying tears of joy here today.

Just spotted Barron. ABC is making a big deal out of Hillary Clinton wearing white, as a symbol of Women’s Suffrage. Well, Ivanka and Tiffani are also wearing white, so what does that mean?

Someone on ABC said that Ivana would be there today. Doesn’t seem likely, but who knows?

It strikes me how the pageantry of the inaugural, and the peaceful continuation of our government, makes those who refused to attend even smaller than they were already.

I told my daughter that I have watched every rally, maybe not always live, but I’ve watched every single one and for all those who listened to him today that have never heard him, he hasn’t changed.

For just a little of the past because today I enjoyed seeing Obama/Biden and think they should have shown more split screens, it warmed my heart to see Obama’s arm crossed and the steam coming out of his eyes and Biden openly sobbing. I even enjoyed seeing the daggers mooch was glaring at him.

      God Bless America indeed!!

Thisvis not a ‘political’ speech, it was Reganesque and made some people sitting up there with PRESIDENT Trump squirm. Note Schumer, looking for all the world like a Brooks Brothers Emperor Palpatine, silently chewing on crow.
Particularly liked the emphasis on wiping radical, Moslem, fundamentalist terrorism from the face of the earth. When can we start?

President Trump was speaking primarily to his supporters – I am here because you put me here, and I won’t forget that my job is to serve the people of this country, and not the bureaucrats in DC. I will do what I promised to do when I campaigned for this office, and I will not fail you.

Granted. It was reported that he looked at every inaugural speech for the last 60 years for a tobe and settled on JFK and RR’s first inaugural speeches. He also, to me, had tones of Eisenhower’s farewell speech.
Trump basically reiterated his campaign platform in a presidential setting, unlike so many past presidents who judt read a broadway script. I want to see how he’s actually going to hack his way through that underbrush of Congressional self-interests.

I just finished listening to the speech and was laughing at the total slap in the face his words must have been to the small group of DC insiders sitting behind him.

OK, folks, let’s see how these anarchist protestors in the street are dealtvwith. They are blocking streets, throwing rocks andbillrgally wearing face coverings per DC law. When will the DC police wade into them as they are breaking any number of laws?

I would ask people who object to Making America Great Again:

Which nation would you prefer to be greater, more prosperous, safer, and have a greater influence in the world?

Which one? Just name one. It’s a simple question. You won’t get a simple answer.

Listening to CBS live coverage and commentator (Bob Woodward) was talking about how Trump comes from ‘a culture of overstatement’ as shown by his promise to ‘wipe the Islamic state off the face of the earth’.
Trump said ‘terrorism’, not ‘state’ and while Woodward could waffle out by saying he was referring to ISIS/ISIL he didn’t say that. As a reporter he knows the power of his words and the need for clarity so why make a statement that could be so easily misinterpreted?

    • Wooly Phlox says:

That was just one of my favorite lines in the speech.

“We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones. And unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the earth.”

Verbatim, unlike the Fake News at CBS, whose employee had to come up with the New Revised Standard Version™ ((c) Bob Woodward Publishers, Inc.) of the exact line in order to make a point.

I hope we start tomorrow. ISIS is only PART of “radical Islamic terrorism”.

The only beef I have is with Trump’s (or his speechwriter’s) use of the unnecessary and redundant modifier, “radical”.

Thing about Trump is he has experience with the media pukes first hand, and not from just doing lower level press conferences, he had years in the star-on-tv role so he has an inside track on how they work/think.
He’s also a businessman so unlike a pol the press doesn’t have a parasitic relationship with him. They are going to have to find a way to deal with him and his equally self-made billionaire appointees on a level they are not accustomed to, expect their learning curve to be bumpy. Those same billionaires do not ‘need’ the presses’ good wishes to exist so have mood need to stroke them. This may turn out better TV than sweeps week.

Had a High School substitute teaching gig today in Dallas….AP Economics, all Seniors, one Caucasian, mixed minorities the rest…..this is a good class of bright kids…but the teacher is a Screaming Rainbow Liberal who is a total fruitcake as a human, but bright as a teacher….so…I got his gig today by chance, and had class during the time for the inauguration and speech…..so I invited the class to decide if they would like to observe the most important national event that will occur while they are pre-college, and which will have implications for all the economics and govt learning they have been doing…..and they all said yes….and no one said anything political….but I told them that in 2009 at the same HSchool my own son had the same event happen, and it had consequences that affected his entire college and initial job career upon graduation …. so this would be an event for them like a moon landing. Lo and behold, they got the thing brought up on the large screen computer projector display and we had CNN the entire time….they all watched respectfully, and agreed Jackie E was a beautiful young singer of the Star Spangled Banner….they also pointed out when a cut went up to the US Flag on the Capital Bldg, that there were a LOT of snipers up there looking down….and they thought that was good, but sad. In all, it made me proud and surprised….the Teachers comments in the Lounge, however was pure lib. To heck with them….the generation coming may have a chance for us all.
