New scope on the AR-10 last week, put a scope on Czarina’s ’15 and putting new floating handguard on the ’15 in 300 Blackout. We have four years to dig positions as 2020, if we even get there unscathed, will be a cat fight.

BTW, AR owners or perspective owners owe a debt to the POtuS. His stirring up fear in the masses not only drove AR sales thru the roof but created a goodly market in AR parts and accessories at reasonable prices. Just bought a really good set of 45-degree offset iron sights for less than $30.

Bunker is our house, ICF construction, 6″ reinforced concrete w/2″ foam insulation on either side. Was built by a company that builds hotels in south Florida to post-Andrew specs. Was built with ‘good ole boy’ Mississippi concrete and contractor inspected and tested each truckload. Was actually cheaper and much faster to build than if we’d have built same design using regular wood process. Built it after we saw damages from Katrina and our area up here’s a wee bit prone to tornadoes…once bitten…
We made sure, we were smack in the middle of the Chinese drywall issue, that all drywall was US and at least half the drivers were wearing appropriately Southern-themed (over to you, Mary) baseball caps.

That’s all I use in my .30-30 and .45-70, brings both guns into the 21st century and will work well in any application. The .45-70 stops a big boar like it’s been hit by a freight train and has a better trajectory than those 19th century flat/round nose.

AR does have better range/trajectory and capacity but most of my ranges here are in the 200 yard arena, lotta trees and brush. .45-70 bucks brush better and its knockdown power lessens the chance that I’ll have to trail wounded game through scrub. If SHTF it’s AR all the way.

MLK Day food for thought…
Rise of the Ku Klux Klan
In the time leading up to the 1868 presidential election, the Klan’s activities picked up in speed and brutality. The election, which pitted Republican Ulysses S. Grant against Democrat Horatio Seymour, was crucial. Republicans would continue programs that prevented Southern whites from gaining political control in their states. Klan members knew that given the chance, the blacks in their communities would vote Republican.
Across the South, the Klan and other terrorist groups used brutal violence to intimidate Republican voters. In Kansas, over 2,000 murders were committed in connection with the election. In Georgia, the number of threats and beatings was even higher. And in Louisiana, 1000 blacks were killed as the election neared. In those three states, Democrats won decisive victories at the polls.

Paul’s second letter to the Christian folks up in Thessaloniki, Chapter 2.
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Not only do I have to see a Doodle celebrating a holiday for a man that liberals pretend to pay lip service to while ignoring everything he said, but Google prominently features a woman in Muslim dress on this Doodle.
I’m getting tired of looking at female oppression personified in the garb a Muslim woman is forced the wear. It to this day astonished me how much liberals do not grasp that they have aligned themselves with a group that opposes everything they stand for.

Well, wearing that get up is voluntary in America. We have laws that protect women from being stoned for random things like showing some leg or having their hair uncovered.
The fact that they don’t have a choice in some nations only makes this worse. Google is promoting female inequality by portraying this as “just another culture.”

Trump Team May Move West Wing Briefings to Expand Capacity
https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-01-15/trump-team-may-move-briefings-from-west-wing-to-accommodate-more

Trump really is a brilliant negotiator. When the press asks him if he is being mean to the press or surpassing the press, or bullying the press Trump will simple make a face and say “I’m expanding the press pool so your are asking a fake question. Next?”
LikeLiked by 3 people
I think what they object to is being moved out of the White House proper, so they won’t be able to spy as easily. The current briefing room has only 49 seats, which isn’t large enough.

The exclusivity, the ability to say ‘I’m so important I can get in and you can’t’, the ability for a chosen few to determine what and how the citizens hear news, yeah, move it into a more public venue where there’s a diversity of opinions and outlets. I pray this is the beginning of the end for pols having to kiss press butt.

Hundreds of U.S. Marines land in Norway, irking Russia
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-norway-usa-military-idUSKBN1501CD?il=0
Some 300 U.S. Marines landed in Norway on Monday for a six-month deployment, the first time since World War Two that foreign troops have been allowed to be stationed there, in a deployment which has irked Norway’s Arctic neighbor Russia.
Officials played down any link between the operation and NATO concerns over Russia, but the deployment coincides with the U.S. sending several thousand troops to Poland to beef up its Eastern European allies worried about Moscow’s assertiveness.
Soldiers from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina landed a little after 10 am CET at a snow-covered Vaernes airport near Trondheim, Norway’s third-largest city, where temperatures were reaching -2 degrees Celsius (28 degrees Fahrenheit).
U.S. troops are to stay in Norway for a year, with the current batch of Marines being replaced after their six-month tour is complete.

This reads like the deployments of the Seven Years’ War. There was a lot of propaganda and misinformation in the media of the time to get public support in the various countries to continue fighting and spend everything in each countries treasury.
With all the duplicitous behavior of the outgoing administration, I just have no idea if we are the aggressors or it actually is Russia.

Original NATO Cold War mission for Marines was a Norway defense. Some anti-military members of Congress even tried to predict the death of the USMC since their primary Cold War mission died with the USSR. All Marines had to do was dig out those old Oplans, blow off the dust and update ’em. Everything old is new again.

Love it. I’m old enough to clearly remember the segregated busses, lunch counters, water fountains, theaters, vaynroons, etc, in Florida. There were parades of blacks and white supporters marching for inclusion, the black Americans just wanted to be fully included in and have access to the benefits of white society.
Fast forward fifty or so years and black activists want unequal access to benefits and a seperation from the greater society. The black pols fear inclusion as it will dilute their abilities to feed off of the system and control their subjects. Let’s hope Trimp’s DoJ manages to investigate crooked ethnic pols who abuse the system, seems to have been an eight year hiatus recently.

I remember that my mother was horrified by the segregation in the south when we went to Florida in the early 1950’s. Since my dad spent part of his formative years in Alabama, he wasn’t.

Me too, czar. I grew up in segregated Alabama and Mississippi in the 50s and 60s. It was very common for filling stations (ha!) to have 3 restrooms: men, women, and colored. I was a senior in high school when school integration occurred. In college (Miss. State University) in 1973, a bunch of us went out for breakfast together and there was one black woman in our group of maybe a dozen. We were told she could not be served with us, she had to go around to the back, to the “colored” dining room. We all got up and left.

I bootlegged in DeKalb county, out of Mentone, in the late 60s and there were black areas around the tri-state area where no whites could go, white areas where no blacks could go and areas up,on the mountain where nobody could go. I remember gas stations in rural areas that no one wanted to use, I can still find a few out here.

Without doing something like calling an airstrike on grouos like the BLM, LaRaza and CAIR, just to mention a few, t’aint gonna hapoen. They do NOT want THEIR people mixing with the blue-eyed devil, their perpetual enemy.
The hate mongers who puppeteer these groups need enemies to keep their flocks huddled around them, they need an enemy to blame their failures on but most importantly they need an enemy they can manipulate to provide suicidal support to their causes.
If we all got yogether on vommon ground a whole group of oarasitic mongers would be left without hosts to feed off of, they’d have to get jobs or, even worse, the scales eould fall off of flocks’ eyes and the sheep would turn on the wolves.
These prog pieces of cultural garbage will spend the next four years working against Trump, trying to kerp the lucrative entitlement society viable. Easy to scare the urban prog apologists into supporting their agendas, all they have to do is stage another Ferguson or Orlando night club ethnic incident and the cowed will be running to them begging their forgiveness for doing whatever it was we did to provoke such of an animal response.

Not really nervous about it at all. I’m pretty sure I have the job, just have to sit down and talk with Chef and the owner, and I’ve worked with and been good friends with Chef for years, and the owner knows I’m anything but lazy. It’s a small town.

It’s hard to get my mind away from how my place of 9 years worked.
Everyone in the kitchen can do every other thing in the kitchen, some better than others at each position. So all day, the egg cook at the wheel (reading tickets out loud to the whole line, with military-efficiency verbiage, while cooking every sautee-pan thing and running five kinds of toast, and feeding whole plates to the window, and calling out servers’ names.) can also do prep, can also do dish. Dish can do prep and run the sandwiches, salads, pancakes and burgers and waffles and fries. Prep can do dish, line, or even wheel.
Everyone uses what Anthony Bourdain called “System D” in his second book, and can use their head and even fix anything mechanical in the kitchen with a SPOON!
System D is using a rock (true!) to hammer in that last two shingles on a roof, because the tool trailer done left.
Even Chef is scrubbing and mopping at the end of the day, in a perfect crew. No prima donnas, just hard workers.
I guess what I mean is I want to be everything for them. And I want to work with people who think like that.
Since I left the other joint, I would bet my left arm that NOBODY has cleaned a floor drain or three, or swept the basement stairs or basement, without being told — just because it needed doing. Let alone scrubbed baseboards or got ice for the ladies, or scrubbed prep-table legs, or stainless walls. Not without being told.
Let alone replaced an outlet, or faucet, or toilet. Me and Chef? We work like that.

Ask for more than you will accept. Quietly and confidently state, and give concise examples of your worth.
Above all, do not say anything negative about your previous employer. If the chef knows the situation you should still be diplomatic about it with the owner.
Think about what you sill say before you go. They might know every detail of the story of you leaving, but how you talk about it still speaks to your character and dignity and it will matter.

And every employer in this town knows each other well.
I’ll keep what you say in mind.

Covered yesterday, here and web-wide.
The headline, as you might guess, is an outright lie.
The commander offered his resignation letter, as he does every four years at this time, by long-standing tradition. Trump said, “No, you should stay.” The commander refused. Now all the MSM is saying Trump Fired Him. It’s all lies. Fake news, as it were.
LikeLike
And saying “No, you should stay.” is also tradition, for decades.
It’s etiquette, and proper.
Obama and GWB both said the same, when he offered his resignation letter, a total of three times. He stayed on.
I think he just wants to retire. I don’t even know if it’s the General that said he got fired.
I think it’s just the FakeNews making it up. Just Democrats using up another black man.

I don’t actually wonder if this crew will do both vandalism to and ganking from the White House. Its a pretty sure bet they will.
I just wonder if they’ll do more damage and steal more things than the Clintons and staff did when GW became President. That’s actually a tough act to follow.

Let this one play, see what the algorithm produces. Bet it’s better than Pandora:
