“Mary Did You Know?” always reminds me of the beautiful mystery “The bird who built the tree was born therein.”

Seeing the contractors reminds me that Joseph was faithful and open to the Holy Spirit, he could have been one of any number of professions but Christ chose a carpenter to be His earthly father, Jesus was surrounded by wood, hammers and nails from his earliest childhood. I wonder how often he thought about what was to come as he held wood and nails in his hands and made something useful or beautiful out of it.

Just saw on Watters World that a satanist has erected a large pentagram next to the town’s creche and Hanukkah display. Watters was people what the city could do about this “offensive” display.
Heh. I’d have volunteers surround it as often as possible, turn their back on it, and sing the Hallelujah Chorus.

“The kingdom of this world is become
The kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ
    And of His Christ!”

Then the basses have a short solo:
“And He shall reign forever and ever.”

Other voices come in now, but if one listens to the basses, they are like little kids taunting Satan:
    “Forever! and ever!
And He shall reign and He shall reign!
    Forever!
    Forever! Forever!
    Forever and ever!
    For E-E-ver!
    Forever, and E-ver.”

    It’s my favorite part.

    Good morning Stella, delightfuls,Czar,
Your morning selections are getting better and better, was thinking this must be fake, what a beautiful structure. Thank you.
Speaking of beauty, the course we played this weekend was as well, so was the lad on the right. Me and my game, not so much. Newest most favorite place to play, course wends it way around the Legion of Honor. Oh my!!

Mary’s territory is back there across the Golden Gate. Took this pic the following morning from atop one of those hills over there.

You all have a great day out there. Electors! Do what is right!!!!!

Game is always great, score, meh. First 4 holes, stumbled badly out of the gate, but pulled it together to shoot decently the final 14. Young lad (FSIL) did retain the coveted Christmas ornament tough, and now proudly hangs on his tree in SF.
Legion of Honor is smack dab in the middle, you literally drive through the parking lot at one point. This is the teeing area on another hole.

Over the years, I’ve watched as the golfers have played through, always assuming it was a private course. Not so! Actually a City Park. Residents pay only $30 to play. There are scores of people out walking, kids, dogs. In summer they picnic out there.
Reminds me of my home course back in Santa Cruz, hilly, rougher greens, friendly staff. Working class course, My kind of place. No collars required!

I was stationed for a year on Tern Island in the French Frigate Shoals, which is near the western end of the Hawaiian Islands.
The island looked like an aircraft carrier – just a landing strip with a couple buildings on the side.
The highest point was maybe 6 feet above sea level, and the only source of water was rainfall, and what we could distill from seawater.
All the buildings had rain gutters that conveyed rainfall to an underground cistern. The biggest roof was the barracks/kitchen/chowhall, and I had to sweep the roof so it would be clean so our water would be clean. It was a hopeless task.
Three pine trees overhung the roof, and seabirds would perch in them and whitewash the roof. They also sometimes dropped their lunch of fresh little fish.
The engineers chlorinated the water heavily.
So our drinking water was heavily tainted with the aromas of pine, guano, fish, and chlorine. Heating it, like to make coffee, only served to enhance the fragrances.
            Worst coffee ever.
            Still drank it.

I’ve posted this before but it’s still a favorite.
Many years ago, when Army Combat Engineer companies still had cook sections that made fresh, hot ,meals, our cooks would prepare our coffee. They always had a huge pot, frequently a 20 gallon cook pot, full. When you were out in the field for 30 days at a crack, especially in cold weather, that pot was a lifesaver. You’d go in, fill your big old canteen cup and take the edge off.
Our cooks had been at it for years, they could make a satisfying meal appear out of thin air. The chief cook used to go by the quartermasters and pick up a bundle of the GI cotton socks. The laundry would wash the sizing out of them and he’d stow them with his mess gear. Cone big coffee pot time he knew just how much coffee to ladle out of the can of bulk coffee and stuff into the sock. He’d tie the sock shut, toss it into the boiling potbof water and viola, perfect hot coffee without grounds.

We still need to wait until January 6, 2017 to know the results.
Hope the Russians share the hacked results before then. 😉

      January 6, 2017

The Congress meets in joint session to count the electoral votes. Congress may pass a law to change this date.

The Vice President, as President of the Senate, presides over the count and announces the results of the Electoral College vote. The President of the Senate then declares which persons, if any, have been elected President and Vice President of the United States.

If a State submits conflicting sets of electoral votes to Congress, the two Houses acting concurrently may accept or reject the votes. If they do not concur, the votes of the electors certified by the Governor of the State on the Certificate of Ascertainment would be counted in Congress.

If no Presidential candidate wins 270 or more electoral votes, a majority, the 12th Amendment to the Constitution provides for the House of Representatives to decide the Presidential election. If necessary the House would elect the President by majority vote, choosing from the three candidates who received the greatest number of electoral votes. The vote would be taken by state, with each state having one vote.

If no Vice Presidential candidate wins 270 or more electoral votes, a majority, the 12th Amendment provides for the Senate to elect the Vice President. If necessary, the Senate would elect the Vice President by majority vote, choosing from the two candidates who received the greatest number of electoral votes. The vote would be taken by state, with each Senator having one vote.

If any objections to the Electoral College vote are made, they must be submitted in writing and be signed by at least one member of the House and one Senator. If objections are presented, the House and Senate withdraw to their respective chambers to consider their merits under procedures set out in federal law.

        Yep.

That will be the next hand wringing date that people are perched on their cracked branch waiting, wondering, chastising and scheming to see if there is any way to stop the will of the American people.

There might even be another video from has been actors who suggest that if you are a person of integrity and morals if there is anyway you can sneak in and change the votes that you have a moral obligation to do so, after all should’t someone had killed Hitler when he was a baby.

Then there will be the well meaning but worried Trump supporters who still haven’t got used to winning who will be wringing their hands for the next 18 days about whether or not we are going to have the rug pulled out from under our feet once again. To them I say you haven’t been paying attention to Trump and don’t understand the whole scale burnt down to the ground decimation that the DNC is now trying to claw itself out of.

This is all to delegitimize Trump’s presidency not stopping him from getting into office. My main fear is for Trump’s life and on that I hand it over to prayer.

Lpyeah, gonna be interesting tobsee how this plsys out as the Russians have a totally different approach to their diplonats being killed than the US does. I’ve posted before that bavk in Beirut when terrs killed a Russian diplomat there the Russians quietly had a team come in and wipe out the ters involved and, ALLEGEDLY, their families. Compare that to the POtuS and Hillary.
We also had that Russian GRU general in Syria, back in 2010, and yet another Russian GRU general ‘mysteriously’ dieing there just this January….hmmmmm.
Turkey’s not happybwith Russia trying to reconstitute Assad Syria, blunting its plans to grab Syrian land it considers its own. Russia isn’t happy with Turkey interfering with its plans to rebuild its Syrian petro empire, and I’m betting Russia’s got a serious case of the red posterior over failed Russian attempts to peacefully bring Turkey to the red side. Gotta remember that Turkey’s still the most powerful and modern military in the Mideast and flanks Turkey on the Black Sea as well as blocks Russian access through the Bosphorus.
We have a field of players here who could have shot that ambassador BUT, in a country with very tight gun and social controls, how could the shooter have independently mansged this? This will play out on multiple levels, many of them under the covers. Some terr group will get blamed and bombed but there’s going to be a lot more goingnon out of sight.

Thing is, this Russia/Turkey situation could quite easily blow up into a major war in a heartbeat.
I was watching a MSM news piece on the Russian resupply to Syria and while the talking head was blathering on about crap mobile S-300 SAM systems were rolling by on the docks. No idea of what version thry were but if Russian crews were manning them for protection of Russian assets you can bet they were not the ‘monkey models’ they sell to clients.
We’ve had Israel and the US sort of threaten Russian interests with airstrikes and Turkey has already attacked and shot down Russian aircraft. Russia will not give up on Syria, it’s way too important, and will continue to ratchet up its presence to ensure a Russian victory.

Sad as it is about the best scenario now is to back off and let Rusia have its way. They’re doing that with us in Afghanistan and did in Iraq – there was no need for them to risk a shooting war with us over either.
Russia has heavy interests in keeping its hands on Syria and NATO/EU would bslk at backing us there as Europe will heavily benefit from a Ruseian ‘win’ there. A number of major Mideast players will benefit also, so any help we get from them would be grudging at best. In all getti getting this over as quickly as possible will save lives and treasure.

I’m betting that her ‘no fly’ zone was just election rhetoric, trying to give the uninformed yet concerned a sop to feed their denial.
Point one is that you do not declare a ‘no fly’ zone against an equally armed party unless you are prepared to draw blood. You also have to have a viable response on case they decide to draw blood. Hillary knows that our military’s worn and tired after some 15 years of war, our treasury’s drawn way down and the country just wouldn’t put up with our going into a major war with Russia over something as far away as Syria.
Russia knows that if the US got into a shooting war with it in Syria the most likley response would be for the US to turn tail and exit the stage so I see Russia pushing the line hard and fast. Hillary’s only options would have been to run or fight and either would have crashed her image and legacy. I’m betting that once in office she’d have taken the moral coward’s way out – a freeway for her – and thrown it into the UN where it would have languished like any other issue of importance has. A crisis passed is a crisis solved.
