We are going to a pot latch Christmas dinner at our friends’ community center. I am bringing pineapple cheese casserole…. This is the best side dish ever, it sounds weird, but it is wonderful.
Now, where is that recipe? hmmmmm
LikeLiked by 4 people
Is that with cream cheese?
LikeLiked by 2 people
I use medium sharp cheddar… I break it into pieces then whirl it in a ninja chopper until it is a bunch of cheese crumbles. This recipe is super easy, and absolutely delicious. You can serve it hot as a side dish (think ham or pork) or at room temp.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Find it, please! I love pineapple.
LikeLiked by 2 people
2 cans of pineapple chunks drained (20 oz each)
2 c of grated cheddar ( I use one normal size block and chop it in the Ninja)
6 tbl sp flour
3/4 cup sugar.
Mix and pour into greased medium casserole (9×13 pyrex)
Take a cup or so of roughly crushed Ritzes, gently mix with 1 stick of melted butter..
Sprinkle on pineapple mix.
Bake 350 until topping is golden brown….somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes.
Note: do not use packaged grated cheese. It has some kind of additive to keep it from clumping, this prevents it from melting correctly,, you really need to grate or spin chop the cheese yourself….

New York cheesecake. Many years ago I was doing the Mardi Gras security for Ann Rice at her St Charles party-house. She had a few dozen top-drawer New York cheesecakes flown in for Mardi Gras day. At the end of the day they booze was gone but lots of cheesecakes were still in the fridge. She gave them to my crew and we all went home with at least three full cakes. We had two in the freezer we snacked on for a year, you can feel your arteries squeezing closed as you eat these things, they were nearly three inches thick and had more cream cheese than at least three state laws allow.
Good cheesecake is worth defending with one’s life.

Morning everybody! Have a blessed Sunday!
Luke 2: 8 – 11
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Amen.

A comprehensive and informative article on just war theory. I’m sure almost all of us are quite familiar with the concept, and instinctively believe in it as necessary for society to exist and allow us to live our lives.
Nevertheless, this goes back to early Christian thinkers, and builds from there, then deals with terrorism.
https://providencemag.com/2016/11/just-war-theory-terrorism/
The money quote, IMO, comes at the very end.
What this amounts to is the claim that, in the end, just war thinking is really is about “neighbor love.” The best way, sometimes the only way, to operationalize neighbor love in the real world of limits, fallenness, and evil is by standing between the beast and their prey, employing force against those who intend the innocent harm, and by standing for justice in the face of its assault.

I’m from the old Ghengis Khan, Stalin school of war. You don’t go into war willy-nilly but when you have to you go in to WIN. None of this protected this-that-or-the-other crap, you lay waste to anything and everything that they can use to wage war, you stomp them into a mudhole. If the leftist whiners want to hold hands they can go in after we win and hand out soup and bandages.
Last war we did this was WWII and it worked. Soon after, starting with Korea, we started peacekeeping operations where we bled and wasted treasure trying to get murderous despots to reconsider their antisocial behavior and seek counseling. We didn’t win a confrontation until Desert Storm and even then we squandered the win.
We could have turned Afghanistan into a sterile zone, even flown into Pakistan and totally obliterated the Taliban and their supporters. Oh yeah, let the Pakis threaten to use their nukes, between India and Isreal they’d be a border-to-border glass ashtray.
One good kick-ass tital war to refresh the memories of the bad guys and convince those who doubt our resolve and I don’t think you’d have to worry about ‘just’ wars, there just wouldn’t be anyvwars…at least until the lessons wore thin.
LikeLiked by 3 people
Actually, the way I read the article, it seems to advocate just that approach, as a protection the state justly owes its citizens, and as a means to deal justice to would be oppressors and especially terrorists. Get in, do what you have to, and get out. Also it advocates such an approach in protecting the lives of soldiers as well.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Agreed, I just have a slightly more bone-basic and savage model. Step on my foot, I breaka you legza…both of ’em. War is something to win and to dissuade the opponent from ever even thinking of trying again. Imagine what might have been had the US stopped short of unconditional surrender and allowed a Vietnam-like solution to WWII in Europe. Or Asia.

Ugh, sone break. We were outside sitting in the slight-chill breeze, warching leaden clouds blow in over a slate-grey sky. Squint your eyes juuuussssst right and you’re back out West watching a snow storm roll in.
Should have been doing less squinting and more dog watching. The lab-pit pup (about a 30 poubd ‘pup’) and the beagle-spring mix were out tearing up the grass, running around at top speed, knocking each other over and generally making us wish we had 10% of their energy. While we were squinting they discovered a huge mud puddle (operant word is ‘mud’) and proceeded to wallow in it. So the usual bath time circus ensued…now recovering by lunching on homemade chicken stew (used Popeyes I bought just for the purpose) and homemade biscuits with Leobard Cohen on the stereo and two damp dogs on our feet.

I’ve thought about this phrase a lot lately. Of course I hold true to Catholic teachings on the value of all life.
However, in my opinion, life is a precious gift. It should end, if we live long enough past our youth, with us using that gift to give back something of value to this world and the people in it, on behalf of the Creator, in His service, knowingly or not.
If you live a life of sloth, gluttony(not just in food) and waste, if you take everything and give nothing, if you cause pain instead of give love, if you bear no responsibility for your actions, mesh are no burdens, give no help too there’s, well then, your life doesn’t matter. You have wasted it.
You can scream at the top of your lungs that your lives matter, but you know they don’t. You just don’t want to do what it takes to make them matter.
The gift of life matters. The usage of it does not always matter at all.

Actually you could put both clones at the Southern border as Moslem terrs have ALLEGEDLY made connections with the cartels to move them and their supplies in and out of the US using their well-established systems. The Mideast is here.

Been a lobg, dry spell for Free China, POtuS followed the Chinese line and kept them starved while Mainland China built up its strategic rocket and other invasion forces opposite them. Told that Bush II sent a huge shipment of arms to Taiwan just before he left office and, like the shipments to Isreal, they pushed to get them out into international waters before Obama took office and cancelled them.
Nothing like helping the Red Chinese buy buying stereos, flatscreen TVs and drugs they supply us.

The Wisconsin Recount Was Definitely Leftwing Money Well Spent
http://www.redstate.com/streiff/2016/12/04/wisconsin-recount-definitely-leftwing-money-well-spent/
The game-changing Wisconsin recount demanded by Watermelon party (that is Green on the outside and Red on the inside) of nutty Jill Stein is certainly validating the wisdom of that decision. According to her the Wisconsin election was hacked or something and she would have really won or something. In actuality, the recount is a cynical effort on the part of the Clinton campaign to try and damage Trump while at the same time keeping plausible deniability of their role in pushing Stein to do this.

They didn’t include the partial Milwaukee results, I don’t believe. That should be heavily Democrat.
LikeLike
I don’t know which counties have been counted already, likely Milwaukee has not been counted. The democrats have to weigh the risk/reward ratio. Trump is not a go quietly into the night type of guy, Clinton is not liked, especially in Milwaukee, their mayor even though he is a bonehead liberal democrat has actually called BLM nonsense out on rare occasions.
David Clarke is Milwaukee’s sheriff and has his ear to the ground. The first thingTrump did when he found out the recount was going forward was to put out the call for volunteers to oversee the nonsense. Which brings us back to risk/reward, the reward for risking jail time is not worth the risk IMO. We’ve got 15 days to go until the Electoral College meets.
Clinton/Soros simply did not make a contingency plan for losing.

I know Milwaukee went Clinton out of loyalty to their Democratic Plantation Lord, but there is no personal love for Clinton, they are not enamored with her as they were with Obama.

from above link:
As we noted a few days ago, Trump has expressed support for the completion of the Dakota Access Pipeline though his support has been complicated by his personal investments in Energy Transfer Partners. Maybe it’s the cynic in us, but we find it curious that, after sitting silent on this issue for months, the Obama administration, with just a few weeks left in office, would now decide to take definitive action on this issue…just a little parting gift for Trump.
LikeLike
Yes! And the Corps of Engineers (aka Engineers of Corpses) is forbidding the contractor from building the pipeline under a reservoir due to safety issues.
Take it from someone who rode out Katrina, if ANYONE knows about endangering people with water-based construction issues it’s the Corps.
