Seems there are raging brush fires in Israel and videos of what are most likely Islamics setting them. I remember back in early 2002 we had internal bulletins circulating talking about how Islamic terrorists (pre-Obama days) could raisevnibe kibds of hell here setting fires in dry areas. Just sayin’…

Easy morning in a bit, rain, warm weather, this means the bucks will stay put unless kicked out…… the LL Bean crowd will roll in Thursday/Friday for the weekend……. another log on the fire…… and the alarm is set……

I had a dog that would pay you back if you ever got onto it. You always knew to look for the pee in your shoes or the poop beside your bed and if you really made him mad he’d leave you a surprise on your pillow.
Christmas ain’t that bad this year, I’m already 3/4 of the way finished with Christmas shopping. Have finished with grandson(even finished with his birthday on Jan. 1st), finished with my sons, have a few things left to get for my daughter, just giving my son-in-law money because all he cares about is race car parts and guns. I’d get the wrong race car parts and I honestly don’t know what kind of gun I could buy him that he didn’t already have. The only person I haven’t gotten anything for is hubby and this year I’m kind of stumped on what to get him. Usually by Thanksgiving he’s already given 100 hints, yet this year he’s been as quiet as a Church mouse.

Christmas at our house will be modest, well, it usually is. We are getting a new floor here, and I guess that will be enough. Dh puts some money in a college fund for his grandsons, I send my sister flowers. When I was younger, I used to shop for 9 nieces and nephews, 4 sibs, 4 sib in laws and mom. It is much easier now.. I can enjoy the season and more of what it means…

My kids always were taught the meaning of Christmas and we always read the Christmas story on Christmas Eve.
It started when they were babies and kind of just continued.
They also though believed in Santa, although our Church frowned upon it, I always believed it to be harmless. Some of my most precious memories are them writing letters to Santa Claus and leaving him out milk and cookies. Then their faces on Christmas morning to see what Santa had brought.
I was sad when each of them quit believing in Santa.
I raised heathen children according to our Church, let them believe in Santa, let them play cards, let them go to school dances, listen to non-Christian music, dress up for Halloween and go trick or treating.
Now I get to have a part in raising more heathens. lol

That’s what I always said.
Right or wrong I never much cared for people telling me how to raise my kids, whether it was the government, schools or Church folks.
Heck, my kids when they were too young to understand any of it thought Jesus was a pretty cool dude who let us celebrate his birthday and a fat guy in a red suit brought them presents.

I always thought Santa had a magic bag that he just had to reach into and out came the right present.
That was until I was around 5 or 6 and woke up during the night and saw my mom putting presents under the tree. That ended my believing in Santa or a magical bag.

Probably totally accidental…the location being so ‘conveniently’ placed next to residential and commercial structures…coincidental. Remember the groups of radical treehuggers who were burning down lodges and private houses they thought were environmentally damaging? Then we have those radical Islamists again, lone wolves and all.
DoJ can end it all in a heartbeat by saying their o-fishul investigation has determined it was a spark from a camper’s illegal campfire or embers from an illegal (are they ever legal?) redneck meth cooker? Sounds like the pilot for a Discovery Channel reality program.

Today is the day. Either Hillary of Jill has to fork over 3.3 million dollars to WI if they want the recount to start on Thursday. My understanding is that the legal presentation is for a recount when in actuality they want to do a recount and an audit. Last I heard Jill is headed to court because she still wants to dictate the way the votes are counted for every county.
KMA Jillary.

Yeah, keep the rifle close and clean as this could spark a huge Constitutional mess that the Rat garbage could exploit.
The Spoilers don’t like the conditions of the count they go to Court. Whoever loses appeals, right on up to the SCotUS. We have the Electoral College confirm Trump and the inauguration – what other option is there?
Trump’s in office and the recount issue reaches the SCotUS…it’s 4/4, split twixt left and right. Can Trump nominate a Justice without getting into ‘conflict of interest’ problems, another court case? Will Obama/Ayers activists take violent protest to the streets?
Oh to live in interesting times.

We are well armed in WI. It will be interesting to see if Jillary forks over the 3.3 million today.

Late yesterday, some Dem strategists and spokesmen came out criticizing this effort and attempting to distance Clinton from this mess:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-11-28/angry-dems-dismiss-steins-recount-effort-its-waste-time-and-money
Then some Green Party bigwigs signed an open letter which states in part: “we do not support the current recount being undertaken by Jill Stein.”
http://www.flowersforsenate.org/greens_speak_out_recount
This whole thing has been bizarre. I just saw that Stein tweeted at 8:45 this morning:
“Yesterday, we found out Wisconsin will charge us $3.5M, an outrageous increase from the initial estimate of $1.1M…”
Is this just grinching or a possible sign of retreat? When her people filed a lawsuit in PA yesterday, and a lawsuit in WI, apart from the initial recount petition efforts, it seemed to indicate that she was willing to spend those $$ she had collected.

It’s all a bunch of nonsense.
Jill is a puppet, now that reality is setting in her advocates are backing away from her and this idiotic game. IMO Hillary expected Trump to offer Hillary something to call Jill off of the recount to avoid the annoyance of dealing with this garbage. Hillary does not know how to live with being out of power. The Clinton Foundation donations are drying up and Trump announced after the “recount” scam was played that foreign countries should help in the prosecution of HRC.
Stupid Hillary should have stayed gone.
My understanding is that today is the decline for Jilary to pay the 3.5 million dollars to WI or she has to go back to court and try and get her hoof in the door another way.

I am off to find a roasting pan better than the throw away ones that I have… oh well. I am so worried about Gatlinburg, its hard to explain. Commercial, corny, but fun,,, and right at the beginning of the beautiful Smokey Mountain National Park. It used to be beautiful… oh sht.

Petraeus is visiting with Trump again today. Remember that Petraeus has been convicted of a federal crime.
I smell the ultimate troll movement to date coming from Trump.
If Trump appoints Petraeus to a federal position, federal law prohibits Petraeus from holding that position due to his conviction, which means that Trump would have to pardon Petraeus once he becomes POTUS.
Imagine the MSM meltdown. How much can the MSM bellyache about a Petraeus pardon when all Trump will do is say “Comey pre-emptively pardoned Hillary Clinton for doing a million times worse than Petraeus, if you have a problem with Petraeus you should have had a far greater problem with Hillary. Petraeus admitted his wrong doing, paid his dues and can be if great use to our country.”

That’s interesting. I read that it was not a felony that he was convicted of. I’ll look into it later.

Really? He took federal property which I thought is an automatic felony? I’ll look it up.

Petraeus, in the end, pleaded guilty last year to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified material.

He plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of ‘mishandling classified information’ and received two years probation and a $100,000 fine.
Even a felony conviction doesn’t necessarily prevent Federal employment or appointments, you can wade through 5 USC and 18 USC for examples. If the exclusion were automatic I wouldn’t have worked with some of the folks I did. Seriously.
Y’all don’t forget the Fed and many state, county and municipal civil service moves to not use even a felony conviction in the primary screening as a disqualifier. There are certain felonies and at least one misdemeanor that disqualify individuals from certain, but not all, positions in the Fed system. Only felony that I can think of that automatically disqualifies one from any Fed paycheck is treason.

My concern is that Petraeus was working with astronaut Mark Kelly, husband of Gabby Giffords, to launch a gun control group in July called Veterans Coalition for Common Sense.

Here is another sad story re Petraeus that I had never heard:

Hard story to read.
I hesitate to even offer an opinion but 3 things stand out to me, most people never believe that their loved one committed suicide if there is any possibility of escaping that thought, most suicides don’t leave notes, that Ted left such a heart wrenching letter behind shows a man trapped in corner who saw no way out, a typical place where sducidal people find themselves.
People always romanticize people who commit suicide. I have no doubt that Ted was everything his wife and friends remember him to be and from is words and profession it sounds like he was rather brilliant and insightful.
If there had been as dark of secrets that Ted was aware of I would guess that he would have sent proof of it to someone. But that is just my opinion from reading one brief article and with a suicidal mind, all bets are off on their normal character winning out over the darkness.
That said Ted did not seem like the type of guy to end his life and let it be for nothing. I’m sure bad things were happening, I’m sure his mind was not right since he believed his children and his wife would have a better life if he was dead. How much of that was in his own words “I trust no Iraqi” a realization that we were not there for the reasons he thought we were there and we were likely training people who would one day try and kill us, I don’t know.
How is Petraeus tied into the entire thing? Again, I’m not going to offer an opinion because I have none.

I find it interesting and unsettling that not only did Westhusing serve under Petreaus, his suicide note was addressed to him:
“In Iraq, Westhusing worked under two generals: Maj. Gen. Joseph Fil, and Petraeus, then a lieutenant general. But Bryce continued: “By late May, Westhusing was becoming despondent over what he was seeing.” When his body was found, a note was found nearby addressed to Petraeus and Fil.”

I agree it is disturbing but what it means I don’t know. A Suicidal mind is not a rational mind, if, Westhusing witnessed atrocities outside the normal wretchedness of war a clear minded Westhusing would have left some documentation of that that he knew would get to the right places.
The exposure of Gitmo happened a little over a year before Westhusing’s suicide so he knew what media exposure would do, again if he was in his rational mind.
For me the last line of Westhusings goodbye is as important as who addressed it to (and who he didn’t address it to is alas an insight, but that is another discussion).
You are not what you think you are and I know it.
What does that mean?
It sounds to me again that Westhusing was exceptionally bright and insightful, it sounds to me that he realized that we were arming our enemies, “I trust no Iraqi” and that he had insight and he believed empirical knowledge I cannot support a msn that leads to corruption, human right abuses and liars. I am sullied—no more. I didn’t volunteer to support corrupt, money grubbing contractors, nor work for commanders only interested in themselves. of egregious actions, crimes agains humanity, commanders putting career before the rank and file, war profiteers.
I simply have no way of knowing what was true and what was an exaggeration in Westhusing’s mind because he came into a war as a philosophy teacher who may have believed war and the absurdity of war could some how be made clean through philosophy. The walls of academia rarely produce rational thinkers, thinkers whose world view carries them well in real life situations, my guess is that he idealized his mission but that is pure speculation.
I’m not defending anyone or their actions I just don’t have the facts.
*Just did a quick check and Westhusing was exceptionally bright, he was selected as honor guard and he graduated 3rd in his class at West Point. Thanks for bringing this story to my attention I’m going to delve into it some, depressing as it is.

Went outside for a bit, checking to see if rabbit repellant was actually a repellant or a condiment. The wind’s directly out of the south at about 15 mph, giving us the steady white noise of wind blowing through hundreds of acres of pines. Rain last night raised the humidity, saturating the air with the smell of the pines our neighbor thinned. Great day to be out there.

Just finished watching a piece on the news about our Somali refugee who plowed into and sliced those OSU students yesterday. They were going on about his social media posts ‘just moments before his rampage’. He went on about crimes against Moslems, how he can’t take it any more, usual Shiite, and then to show that Moslems are peace loving and misrepresented, went out and put nine people in the hospital and one in the grave.
Ohio and Federal authorities are investigating to see if the incident might be connected to terrorism.
Sure as hell hope that Trump goes after that pusillanimous Federal thesaurus with an ax.

After the city of New Orleans was once again embarrassed by the wekend shooting in tne French Quarter the mayor and Chief of Police have announced sweeping changes to make it safer. Unanswered is the question of why they didn’t make these changes earlier as they are delf-proclaimed experts in the field, this is a decades-old problem and they’re paid to be prosctive in these sreas.
Of note is their plan to inconvenience everyone equally, implementing a sealed 6-7 block area of Bourbon street, controlling access thru entry points, having metal detectors and forbidding guns inside the safe zone…Beale Street south.
Obe suggestion not tendered is calling it like it is…stop all males under 21 being on the street unless accompanied by a parent. If a person’s caught falsely posing as a parent said faker gets a large fine AND jail time. Bars on Bourbon should get a huge fine every time they are caught not carding drinkers…the entire Quarter’s infamous for catering to underage drinkers. This ain’t ever gonna happen though.
Most controversial is the suggestion to use crime analysis techniques to find the profile of the most frequent shooter in the Quarter and Terry-stop everyone of those inside the Quarter to search for weapons. That ain’t gonna happen either and you know why.
So right now the TSA model, irriate the hell out of everyone just to be PC, is the most likely scenario. Never can tell when that 65 year old nun just out sightseeing might be packing heat; who knows, she might even enjoy an impromptu patdown.

Yeah, tobacco can killya, that’s why they’re movin’ hard to do a ‘Denver’ and decriminalize smokin’ dope in the Quarter, if not the city. 24/7 no-holds-barred booze sales, underage kids, black thugs, legally smoking dope, the city turning a blind eye to the goings on…what could possibly go wrong?

One of my all time favorites!
Funny story. I was once doing some work in a school building and I thought that I was alone so I brought my iPhone an iPhone station and was listening to Fun, the music was loud, I went to do something and I saw an open door so I went to see why it was open and there was someone else working.
I was like, “I’m so sorry! I thought I was alone. I’ll turn my music down.”
She responded “Oh , it’s ok have your fun.”
This is when they were relatively new and I said “You’re a Fun fan?”
She looked confused and then I realized she literally meant “have fun.” I told her it was the name of the band I was listening to and we both had a good laugh.
