Yeah, we usually have a pair of Great Horned owls that nest in the area, have had them calling from trees right up close where we can see them. Can’t tell if these guys are POd that their trees are being rearranged or are joyous over the clearer space to go hunting in but they are active.
No loons but plenty of jabbering ducks and our huge nigh-flock of geese are back on the lake. Two most neatest times are when the geese land and take off en masse, you can hear the splashing and squawking all over the lake.

Missed the memo. Time was, both were in the body. Then, giblets were in the neck and neck was in the body. Thought was short changed on giblet boil for stuffing liquid. Live and learn. 😉

Oh, update for all, esp. Lovely. No one has seen the young woman (pregnant with twins) at SF’s PP on their killing days recently–so everyone is still holding out hope and prayers. She had accepted several pieces of pro-life literature when she was there before.

It is such a wonderful time. My heart is always full this time of year. The seasons of the year mesh so wonderfully with the liturgical cycle to increase the anticipation, the wonder, the hope and joy.
Hmm, I wonder if some really inspired Church fathers might have planned it that way? 😀

Alt Nation is great, IMO, and it, along with The Spectrum, has introduced me to a lot of incredible music I would never have discovered, in the last few years.
The Spectrum is okay, but mostly only plays red diaper libs.
The Groove is great, but they don’t understand that white people also make R&B (or they’re racist and that’s why they don’t play any R&B by white people, who knows?), so you won’t ever hear any Daryl Hall, Teena Marie, Michael McDonald, Christina Agulera, or even the recent, amazing Mayer Hawthorne.
The Joint is great if you’re in a reggae mood.
Classic Rewind if you want to hear a song by The Cars for the ten millionth time.
Classic Vinyl if you want to hear Hotel California or E.L.O. or Stairway to Heaven for the ten billionth time, or just want more Satanism in your life, or just want to make your workers happy because they cannot stand to hear music from any other time than their youth, or that they’ve never heard.
Tom Petty Radio is actually pretty good, with lots of commentary by Himself.
Deep Tracks is a good education into classic rock, too.
Pandora is far better than Sirius/XM.

Took a break and pulled/reviewed my game cameras. Usual assortment of coons and deer mugging for the camera but I have what may be a big cat or (most likely) a hog sneaking into the shot, stage right. Too grainy to be sure but deer noticed it but didn’t hat-up, leading me to believe it was a hog. The deer are sooooooo cute and photogenic….gonna be hard to eat ’em.

Can’t get cable TV/internet, I’m near twenty miles from closest Walmart and Mickey Ds but at least I only have to travel about 9 miles for quality kimchee!

Sad as this is, the author’s pique over the Mex government’s ‘blind eye’ these murders is a bit of a waste. We’d seen entire villages almost wiped off of the map by the cartels, people mass hung from overpasses in cities, heads delivered to police stations, people burned alive in 55-gallon drums..and the list could go on…and the Mex government can’t seem to find its own feet.
We could also get into the Mex government’s involvement in its police and military being caught assisting drug runners bringing large shipments across the US border, even shooting at US Federal LEA when they tried to intercept a shipment. Mex government says its police/military would NEVER do anything like that, nononononono, it was hombres muy malos who’d stolen uniforms. Yeeeaaaahhhhhhh, might be, but when we took our training to work the border the military gave us training on what to do if we encountered Mex military and/or police deep inside of sovereign US territory, not bad guys wearing stolen uniforms.
Wall hell, we need a minefield combined with a free-fire zone and a bounty on Mex pols.
