I met Mr. Cub in 1997, and for one of the VERY few times in my life, I was actually speechless. All I could do was shake my head, and shake. It was awesome!!! My very first professional sporting event was a Cubs game at Wrigley Field in 1968. The Cubs were playing the SF Giants. Couldn’t tell you who won, but I can tell you there were six future Hall of Famers in one game. 😀

Wow! What great memories! My aunt had (and still has) front row opposing team dugout seats. A lot of my childhood memories revolve around Cubs games and Wrigley Field.

Yesterday was unbelievable up here in N. GA.. We took our company to the top of Brasstown Bald, which is the highest point in this state. The conditions were just right, and we could see the towers of Atlanta. Then we went to the Octoberfest in Helen. The pic at the top reminds me of this lovely place, the mountains and the fog, I see that almost every morning. TY 🙂

Let’s think about this for a minute or two. I, for one can count numerous times that folks have begun spouting “facts” about this or that, that we know aren’t true. When asked where they obtained those facts, they don’t tell us World Book, or Encyclopedia Brittanica, but wikipedia. As an open source who selects who they want to be able to edit posts, they are not the most reliable source for facts. While infinitely better than Snopes of the WaPo “fact-check”, they are about as reliable as our local town drunk. Therefore, while I think she most likely meant wikileaks, she really did perform a public service by pulling the curtain back on another somewhat useless tool used by many of our liberal friends as the gospel truth. Besides, the woman has the best looking Triple Crown Weave in all of DC.©

That’s terrifying! I don’t recall who was there before her. I wasn’t very politically savvy until around 2000. I really got active when Huckabee ran for president in 2008. I volunteered on his campaign and some local N Texas official’s campaigns. Now I can’t relate to people who aren’t involved because I think it’s our duty. 🙂

Anyone else see this floating around the inter-webs?
I tend to think it is a hoax for two reasons 1) The Left never calls us savages they call us racists, xenophobes, misogynists, Nazis, et al, but savage is a term more likely used by Trump supporters to describe ISIS type folks and 2) the inclusion of “and their children”. We make fun of the Left for trying to get unconstitutional laws passed by saying it is “for the children” the Left doesn’t often declare open season “on the children” as an attacking point.
Anyhow just my thoughts.

I was called a ‘baby killer’ in Frisco in ’68, called a ‘savage’ by some guy there with a heavy lisp in the mid-70s (not sure about that one) but that’s about my total experience there with name calling. Spitting isn’t the same as name calling is it?

Thanks. nyet. I was cooking three sheet trays of bacon and about 60 sausage links when you posted this. Prep last night: 12 trays par-cooked bacon (350, 14 minutes — goes in the cooler speed rack after it cools, that way tomorrow we can make tons of bacon on the fly in 7 minutes.), 20 qts. pancake batter, can’t-I-just-eat-my-Waffle batter, 22 qt’s (2 gross) cracked and immersion-blended eggs, and make that kitchen shine.
1.25 hours.

Up until I started reading lots of old books and papers, I never really understood or thought about the inner workings of any church. If I thought anything, I thought things were a recent development, perhaps just before I was born.
Now that I’ve learned the corrupting of Western Christianity has been going on for a few centuries, stories like this don’t surprise me.

AbFab day – clear, low humidity, cool, breezy. Got lots of misc work done including a couple of rows ready for fall onion and brassica planting. Ended with a huge bonfire at sunset, burned about 3 to 4 cords of small scrub trees we’d cut down over the last few months, they were nice and dry. Great pile of glowing orange coals when we finally left it to come in, best time of the year down here.
