the city didn’t furnish the asylum home with wifi

      Simple solution: City provide wifi.

Then, again, perhaps the real problem
is not being reported by the bias media.

FTA: “First and foremost, a barrier tape has been put up to prevent refugees from getting too close to the border structure.”

Really….are the refugees that stupid that they can’t figure out that barbed wire is dangerous? The premise is that the refugees’ home of origin was a war zone. Hence, the dip$hits should know about barbed wire.

Archbishop Chaput: Be like Mary. Punch the devil in the nose.

Catholics should look to Mary to be part of a religion that fights for truth, rather than assimilating to the popular culture, said Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia.

“If we want to reclaim who we are as a Church, if we want to renew the Catholic imagination, we need to begin, in ourselves and in our local parishes, by unplugging our hearts from the assumptions of a culture that still seems familiar but is no longer really ‘ours,’” Archbishop Chaput said.

“This is why Mary – the young Jewish virgin, the loving mother, and the woman who punches the devil in the nose – was, is, and always will be the great defender of the Church,” he added.

Ridiculously easy: How hackers took down the internet on Friday
    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/10/ridiculously_easy_how_hackers_took_down_the_internet_on_friday.html

“Homeland Security has been scrambling to harden state election sites from attack but as yesterday’s incident shows, hackers don’t even have to break into a system to cause chaos. We have been sleepwalking into being terribly vulnerable to both evil people and mischevious teenagers.

The arms race between hackers and cybersecurity experts is currently being won by the bad guys. And this is a race we cannot afford to lose.”

The whole premise is stupid. The companies that chose to purchase the component parts and not change them from default or harden them before sticking them in the DVR or dish washer are at fault. The entire industry has spent hundreds of millions over the last 30 years getting people to view computers as a dumb appliance like a toaster so the could sell more every year.
Nobody knows what low-level programming is in the physical pathways of chips coming out of China. We have done this to ourselves…again.

I think this is only news because of the election (as in they are looking to create doubt if it doesn’t go their way) because this is not anything new. The denial of service attacks have been going on since around 2000 and the “Internet of things” devices really saturated the consumer market about 2008. I remember in the late 90’s people were trying to stick Linux in anything the could and someone commented it was a stupid idea for this very reason. It was always a horrible idea to put all these insecure devices out there. I do understand that you bring the cost of your product down by have little to no development work for the operating system, but when something this complex is used without any ability to verify anything, you are asking for these type of things to happen.

Another problem is that there are no viable alternatives for new devices. You have to go on ebay or garage sales to buy things 17+ years old to avoid any of this mess.

I see recommendations like that for various reasons. Most of them have to do with EPA regulation competence causing things to not work as well as they had before.
Refrigerators have less space inside due to needing thicker insulation to keep things cold, since less condenser cycles mean less power is used. HE clothing/dish washers use the same puddle of dirty water for most of the wash cycle. Vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters are far more expensive to maintain due to filter replacement costs. The list goes on and on.

I am in an apartment. I asked for a new dishwasher because mine was very very old and some water never drained out completely and the main thing was the racks were falling apart. The maintenance guy talked me into keeping my old one and giving me new racks for it. He said the new dishwashers they were getting were breaking down constantly. My old one cleans the dishes just fine. Oh, and he fixed the reason the water wasn’t draining out completely.

And I say for about the thousandth time…thebgovernment WANTS you to hook your entire life into the internet. Told you we were highling about the abilitynto remotely turn on bag guys cells in the 90s…oh no, they said, it was for ‘bad guys’ only!
Watched ’em hi-5ing over turning on the mics and cameras in laptops and desk computers, followed by anything else that had a mike or camera including home entertainment and security systems. Now it’s open source that we can not only track your cars and listen to your cell conversations but take over control of your car. So why would anyone sweat the Utah NSA Center keeping a running list of the contents of your fridge or your thermostat settings. If you start getting anonymous emails at work telling you you’re getting low on milk (better get the fat free Fred, your Fitbit’s showing you gained a few) you might want to reconsider your level of connectivity.

I knew guys that worked as telephone linemen. I’d hear stories about how they would spend their lunch listening to telephone conversations to “test” the line. Same thing with guys at Motorola. They had equipment turned on and listen to conversations as people drove past the nearby freeway. Now that there is no longer any voice transmission, there is nothing to listen into. It’s all metadata.

There is not an ounce of ignorance in the Clinton regime it is all pure unadulterated malice.

    This is an excerpt from the above wikileak email;

That’s good, sooner it’s clarified the better, and the stronger the better. Re the Trump ISIS video, if we don’t have the proof campaign should assign 100 people to look for it ASAP, there is probably something on tape somewhere. p.s. On the UN last week, support it yes, but be careful. I love Kerry like a bro’ and support him always as HRC should and does. But be careful about the U.N., support but don’t go too far.

Putin did not agree to anything about removing Assad and continues to bomb the people we support. We pushed the same position in 2012 (Geneva 1, which HRC knows all about) and Geneva 2 in 2014. Odds that Putin agrees to remove Assad are only slightly better than the odds the College of Cardinals chooses me to someday succeed Pope Francis. Best approach is to slaughter Donald for his bromance with Putin, but not go too far betting on Putin re Syria. Brent Sent from my iPad
