    Good morning all,
We have some decent rain coming in tomorrow, yay. Went to a Trump training last night here in town. Pretty good speaker/motivator out of Sac.
There is a belief that CA can go red if you crunch all of the numbers properly, and if 75% of the Rep voters actually vote. (And I’m assuming they vote Trump). So am now a volunteer phone caller, may walk some precincts, and flash mob.
Appears there are other people out here crazy and deplorable. Get Out The Vote!!!

Beautiful, Derk! We are in the trenches time to fight for every vote we can get. I wish people were not voting early. I believe that makes voter fraud, losing or not counting Trump votes, easier for the thoroughly corrupt democrats.

If I could I would change it to where everyone had to go to the polls and vote and the only exceptions would be our military and those who are ill or disabled. I’d have other requirements for you to vote as well, photo ID, you can’t vote in elections to raise property taxes if you don’t own property, you’d have to pass a basic citizenship test in order to register to vote, and ballots would only be in English.
Then all voting would be done on paper ballots and would be hand counted as well as machine counted.

I would be on board with all of that. Absentee voting should be strongly restricted.

The counting of paper ballots would be my one issue where it would be difficult to assure the counters were really who they said they were. Way too many wolves in sheep’s clothing these days. Imagine the rat bastages who are Paul Ryan’s or Bush’s surrogates being the safety net for republicans in such a scenario. While I have an issue with the logistics of it I don’t have a better solution.

          • michellc says:

That is where campaigns would have to have people watching the counting. That’s why I would keep the machine counting as well.
It’s never going to be perfect because you have people controlling the machines and you have people hand counting the votes who could/would be willing to cheat.

None of it is ever going to be perfect even photo ID, a law our state does have now. You’re always going to have poll workers who don’t follow the law.

It’s all a pipe dream anyway, those who rule us like it the way it is. Just like property taxes, they know darn good and well if only property owners could vote they’d never get the increases they want without going around the voters.

I get sick and tired of my property taxes going up because people who don’t pay property taxes vote to raise them.
The last time they got raised someone did a poll and 65% of those who voted in favor of did not own property in the county.

We don’t even get a direct vote. The danged county commissioners raise them nearly every year. It goes without saying the crap they are spending it on is utterly ridiculous.

I love the little town I live in, but there is nothing special about it and the tiny downtown is quite plain. Okay, kinda ugly, in my opinion. Last year they spent many, many thousands of dollars digging up the sidewalks and replacing them with fancier ones, also lowered them from the street for some inconceivable reason. Now we have planters, brick inlays, big curbs. This was, and I kid you not, supposed to, according to elected officials, attract tourists and increase business.

What happened is there was no parking downtown and a few businesses finally closed, and most others almost went bankrupt but held on by the skin of their teeth. One woman couldn’t afford to run the air conditioning in her home, she was economizing that much. Now, how many times do you exit off the interstate to visit a little town because everybody knows they have the best danged looking sidewalks in the country? Where do they find these insane idiots to run? Or is there some super vacuum cleaner that they use to suck their brains out once the oath is uttered?

Ours are usually raised for the latest school project or pet county project. The last two that chapped my behind was the school wanted a new early education building for 3 and 4 year olds. It passed with around 70%, it was the one the poll was done on where 65% of them didn’t own property. It raised our property taxes by 8%, supposed to end after 5 years, but I’ve yet to see them ever lower the taxes after these increases are supposed to end.
The other was a darn county road that is not heavily traveled and only has a total of 20 people living on the 5 mile long road, one of them happened to be the county commissioner, he’s gone after this year losing in the primaries. Raised my darn property tax 5% to tear up and replace the darn road. It passed by around 60%.
The thing is when people aren’t having to pay property taxes they don’t care to raise taxes they don’t pay.

Ukraine’s Choreographed Civil War, As Revealed By Wikileaks
          by Tyler Durden
          Sep 9, 2014 11:21 AM

Think the deadly events in a civil-war ridden Ukraine are proceeding unscripted, and without US supervision and/or direction? Think again.

Below is an excerpt from a formerly confidential memo, leaked by Wikileaks, and authored by former US ambassador to Russia, William J. Burns, to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The punchline: the memo is dated February 1, 2008.

Ukraine and Georgia’s NATO aspirations not only touch a raw nerve in Russia, they engender serious concerns about the consequences for stability in the region. Not only does Russia perceive encirclement, and efforts to undermine Russia’s influence in the region, but it also fears unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences which would seriously affect Russian security interests. Experts tell us that Russia is particularly worried that the strong divisions in Ukraine over NATO membership, with much of the ethnic-Russian community against membership, could lead to a major split, involving violence or at worst, civil war. In that eventuality, Russia would have to decide whether to intervene; a decision Russia does not want to have to face.

So, if Russia does “not want to face” said decision which could and has led to the violence and civil war that is now a daily staple of market-moving newsflow out of Eastern Europe, why not let the US state department force the decision upon Russia?

This is a fascinating article at a very SJW-converged site. GREAT photo essay.

Never mind, what I said is not strange, after all.

You can’t reference “those people”, The Whoever obliquely, at a Vox Media site.

“That aurally, vocally, and visually challenged kid… sure plays a mean pinball!”

Polygon dot com would never reference such people, who should have been aborted.

A couple of summers ago, this was my favorite song. That changes every few months, and always will. About a year ago, the wife of my boss had me put up a large canvas in the FOH, very prominent. It is only text, and says this:

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
    Wherever You would call me

Boss-lady never heard of that song from me.

All our customers are looking that phrase up on their phones, on our Wi-Fi. (ID=PHC PW=pancakes)

Menagerie: When I started here the boss’s mom worked deli, making sammiches and salads, and every Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, she made a care package for every employee, with books and CDs and DVDs, explaining the Gospel. She did this for 5 years.

    She’s Catholic.

A few years back, she stopped. I asked her why, and cried when she said, “because nobody reads or listens or watches them.

I’ve been seeing this shared on FB the past few days by the young lady members of my family. I hope it’s a good sign their generation is starting to think for themselves.

Our generation is becoming so busy trying to prove women can do what men can do, that women are losing their uniqueness. Women weren’t created to do everything a man can do. Women were created to do everything a man can’t do.

Arkansas has an outbreak of mumps that is spreading into Oklahoma. The officials are going to throw out a lot of bs, but what they won’t ever tell is how many are Hispanic. Arkansas has tons of illegals.
It infuriates me that they will never tell the truth.

These outbreaks are not that far from me and I know people in the areas and how many kids are suspected to be illegal as their parents and them don’t speak English.
It started so they are saying from someone visiting from out of state.
It also has the anti-vaxers on a rage that kids who have been immunized are getting it, so it proves it’s their fault and/or vaccinations don’t work. They can’t comprehend that 12 percent of people will never build up immunity, although those people will have a milder case of the disease.

It worries me about my daughter because she like me is one of the small percentage of people who have no immunity to measles, don’t know about mumps. With her being pregnant though it’s a greater risk and how many kids that are not vaccinated that is becoming known an outbreak of measles terrifies me.

I can tell you from the number of times I’ve been to the towns with the outbreaks how many people there are running around speaking in Spanish. Like most towns with large numbers of illegals, there are little Mexican towns within the towns.
