Which is why you deserve a rich retirement. In the first place just being a teacher these days is worthy of combat pay. Until the school dustrict in had a school cop system in place it wasn’t unusual for one of us to be assigned to ride shotgun in a school. The teachers had little control over their classes, were always on the lookout for being assaulted by students, it was the student version of Dodge City.
Now the schools have full time armed guards, metal detectors and probably snipers perched in tactical positions, but teachers still have large groups of disruptive rabble to deal with. School admin pukes have retreated to their usual position, i.e. blaming the teachers for their students’ problems rather than skewering the parents, while pressing the teachers to do turn lead into gold. Lotta people didn’t want my jobs but at least two of them allowed me to shoot back.

It is my absolute core belief that you can never teach without discipline, and they have made discipline illegal. When I was in high school my best teacher, indeed, probably the best one in the school was this petite, stunningly beautiful young black woman. She called herself OLM, for old lady Martin. Fast as a cobra strike she used to grab her high heeled shoe and throw it at the football players who dared disrupt her class, and she almost always nailed them. It happened only the first week or two of school, before they learned who was absolutely the dominant ruler in the room. Even the less intelligent ones learned fast, but she didn’t have many of those, it was an advanced class.

The idea of discipline these days is for them to sit out in the hall or be sent to the office where they get told to not do that again and possibly a 3 day vacation from school.

You have to be taught though to ever have any self discipline. Kids today get mixed messages, they’re told when they do bad it’s okay because they’re just kids(kid seems to apply to at least 30 these days as well) yet they’re also told they are little adults and should be treated that way.

You can’t have self discipline if you’ve been told all of your life there is nothing wrong with your actions.

I worried while I was raising my kids and seeing how others were raising theirs and we now see the outcome of that.
I really worry now that those kids are raising kids.

I went to a military high school in Germany, talk about discipline. Schools aren’t supposed to teach morality or personal responsibility, parents sre but too many parents just slough off the responsibility. It’s a wonder any kids graduates high schhol and no wonder our educational ranking internationally is as low as it is. Public schools are now largely babysitting services.

Interesting pointvwas that two of mybteachers were former members of the Wehrmacht.

In my day though schools had no problem with taking a board to your rear and a ruler to your knuckles and then when we got home we got another spanking.

Myself, was always more worried about what my parents would say. Funny, back then we cared more about disappointing our parents than we really did about the spanking, although we dreaded that as well. lol

Today their is no discipline in school and no discipline at home and heaven forbid any teacher actually raise her voice or give junior a bad grade because mommy will be there in a heartbeat blaming the teacher.

I knew those rat bastages looked nervous as hell last night. They were faced with the possibility of Bill Clinton coming face to face with a woman he raped, 2 women he sexually assaulted and a woman that Hillary mocked and belittled, because the woman was raped by a monster when she was a 12 year old little girl.

Imagine the backlash if the commission removed these women while cameras were rolling. No wonder all the Trump children looked angry when they first came in and were seated.

Trump wanted to put Bill Clinton’s accusers in his family box. Debate officials said no.

ST. LOUIS — Donald Trump’s campaign sought to intimidate Hillary Clinton and embarrass her husband by seating women who have accused former president Bill Clinton of sexual abuse in the Trump family’s box at the presidential debate here Sunday night, according to four people involved in the discussions.

The campaign’s plan, which was closely held and unknown to several of Trump’s top aides, was thwarted just minutes before it could be executed when officials with the Commission on Presidential Debates intervened. The commission officials warned that, if the Trump campaign tried to seat the accusers in the elevated family box, security officers would remove the women, according to the people involved, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the discussions were confidential.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/10/10/trumps-debate-plan-to-seat-bill-clintons-accusers-in-family-box-was-thwarted/

Remember this, for all of Hillary’s power, all her dark ops, all her money and influence, all her material to blackmail people, she is a walking mess of a human being she is always terrified of the light being shown on her nefarious deeds. Imagine the stress of being so malicious that she knew the possibility of her personal server being found out, the possibility of her deleting 33 thousand emails being found out was a safer firestorm than the truth being known.

Hillary wakes up with one foot in hell.

I’m still not convinced that Hillary’s physical body is not going to be consumed by the evil which dwells within her and is eating her alive from the inside out before election day. I thought she might stroke out last night.

    Trump has won.

    He knows Hillary’s weakness.

Next debate Trump needs to have Dick Morris, Pat Smith, Oz, and a few others in choice seats.

Pray for Trump’s safety he just raised the threat on his life exponentially last night.

Also, the task of counting the votes really should be taken away from the SEIU and AFSCME and their loyal members.

Also, reportage of election results should be a few days of black smoke, and white smoke when the counting is finished, instead of many weeks of MSM blathering and lawyering and MSM propaganda leading to even more lawyering. I’d mentioned this issue to a manager a few years back after seeing empty bottles, cans and food wrappers stuffed into shelves. He just shrugged and said they add the costs into the shelf prices. Too many problems with stopping someone in the store, they generally only get testy if someone shoplifts and leaves the store.

I’ve known the lady who is the manager here for about 5 years or so and have asked her before if they bring their empty packages to pay for what they’ve ate. She said that some do and others don’t but that Bentonville has told them unless they’re putting them in their bags or clothes or leaving with them to leave them alone because they can’t technically charge them with shoplifting.
In my book it’s stealing just the same as if they were putting it in their purse or down their pants or up their shirt.
I’m sure the rest of us get to pay for it twice, once when what they do pay for is paid with their EBT card and again for the stuff they eat and don’t pay for.

I’m betting your state has a law covering this too. Thing is, if you apprehend someone eating goods it can cause a scene that upsets other shoppers. It’s hard to prove in a court that someone eating food before purchase wasn’t going to pay for it. In all, it can be a PR nightmare so, unlike theft where someone leaves the store with food in tow, it’s all just easier to add the losses to overhead.
I used to watch iur detail supermarket take good fruit and vegetables, dump them into a dumpster and pour bleach over them. They were good but unsold and new stuff was coming in so out it went. The bleach was to prevent dumpster divers from getting it. It was no loss to the store, it all went into the overhead we pay for.

The thing is WalMart has cameras everywhere and according to her they catch them throwing the empty packages into the trash or shopping baskets people have left sitting around or in the shelves. I guess though as WalMart these days makes most of their money from those on welfare and foodstamps that is who they cater to.

It’s more trouble andcexpense to cat h the small-timers than it’s worth. Also, if I were working a store detail and were to get injured as the guy eating the potato chips and stuffing the empty bag in a shelf were to take umbrage at my busting him…
Suddenly that store gets nailed with workers comp and whatever fees the injury would bring to the cop on detail. It’s all a matter of economies and it’s far easier to have the cost of the shoplifting spread among customers.

Shoot before long they’ll be suing WalMart for making them fat by allowing them to eat merchandise for free. lol
I just get a little bent out of shape that I have to pay for thieves.

We have a grocery store in the other small town near me where I do most of my shopping and they’re smart, they don’t provide the motorized carts and they have signs everywhere telling you not to open packages before paying for them. I’ve seen their manager tell people they need to pay for it and point at the signs.

Now they might get away with it because they are the only grocery store in town, but for me it makes a much more pleasant shopping experience.

The grocery store in the town with WalMart doesn’t have those signs and they do have two motorized carts but I rarely see people eating while shopping. It’s only at WalMart where it seems to be the norm.

Pray for me at work, please.

Our kitchen manager quit last week, and he was a powerhouse. And burned hisself out in one season, working way too many hours (and abandoning God, and being seduced, and Drama), like I said he would, as I predicted.

I knew because I’ve been here 9 years. They come and go. I prayed with this guy outside at 6 in the morning, before work, in Christ’s name. More than twice. I’d never done that before with anyone outside family or in a church.

I’ve been here longer than anyone except the fine lady who sold this place to my boss 12 years ago. In the kitchen? Nobody’s been here more than 1 year. And they’re looking to me for help, even the College-educted Chef.

How do we fix this?, he said. To the dishwasher….

…who knows more about this place than anyone else.

That should cause me pride, but it humbles me, greatly.

Pray that I can think that way. How to save a business.

Or pray that I can save souls. Because I love them all, and they see it.

    or pray for both.

    Love youse.

Two weeks ago I was complaining that said manager was only scheduling me for three or four days a week.

      Now I’m on every day.

Good for the wallet, but I need prayer for what they’re all asking of me.

      I know, but I don’t know. I’m really, really good at micro-solutions.

Macro, I told our new manager when he asked, my brain doesn’t think that way.

And yet it does. When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m sitting and thinking. About the kitchen.

Everyone knows it. I just don’t know how to collate my thoughts and apply them to something as big as four restaurants and an incredible catering business.

I couldn’t answer his question, though.

This may sound silly, but I wonder about contacting one of those reality shows that helps fix up restaurants. I guess they are still on the air.

What are these “shows” of which you speak?

          Just kidding, I know.

Me and a former Chef used to hang out and watch the competitive ones, and, having both worked in kitchens all our lives, had to stop, because it was all heavily-edited-for-maximum-drama garbage. “Show, add dramatic music, side of SFX sells it!”

If only honesty was a virtue any more.

After this election is over and in the rearview mirror, I for one, hope to see some wikileaks emails come out from the guys on “our side”. I want to see these bat-snot crazy fools start to sweat like Teddy Kennedy walkin’ into the Catholic church. I want to see them contort themselves into pretzels when confronted at their first town hall meeting back at home, whether the Donald wins or not, but especially if he does. They will be Dead Men Walking and not know where the next BOO is coming from. At this point I don’t really care if the “Republican Party” burns to the ground. They have proven to all of the world to see what cowards they have. They have no loyalty to their party, to a man, while crude and crass, took out every one of his competitors, fair and square, most likely with a headwind all the way through the primaries. They have loyalty only to themselves and the half-baked “club” they belong to – the Bipartisan-Fusion Party. The one where they get all the winnings, and none of the losses on every deal they come upon. They already gutted the legislation that forbade them from insider trading. Never hear much about that one anymore do you. I want to see them whimper like a baby. They deserve what they’re about to get.

Here are some sage words from a True Patriot.

That pig Arnold Schwarzenegger just tweeted some nonsense about how for the first time since he’s become an American he won’t be voting for the republican candidate. I did not read his “reasoning” as whatever it is, it is a lie.

Schwarzenegger the man who bedded his maid and then allowed his son to be raised as a servant has the audacity to say what about morals?

Not to mention that Schwarzenegger is part of the Kennedy cabal.

      Spit.

Guess it’s a good thing no one found out about him diddlin’ the maid and havin’ a kid whilst seemingly quite married, and IIRC, it happened before he became Duh Guvuhnatuh! Maybe he can go to the polls and vote with Glenn Beck. 😈

I couldn’t help but laugh when I heard about it coming from a man who there are pictures floating around of him grabbing what Trump talked about grabbing and the man whose maid’s child and his wife’s child were born days apart.
