Seems like stuff is imploding/exploding right in front of our eyes. Several pointed articles this evening:
The point of inflexion and awakening?…

A very good and thoughtful article, but I do not agree that many of the Dems will awaken. A few perhaps.

Perhaps we may be surprised, Menagerie. We can certainly hope and pray for a significant awakening.

3. She is being kept-going (kept moving, essentially) for brief public appearances, probably with Apomorphine injections. The injection is an temporary emergency ‘rescue’ treatment – to be used when someone freezes (or used in advance to prevent a freeze). The injection of Apomorphine works in about ten minutes but lasts less than an hour – and there are other significant side effects including psychotic features (hallucinations and delusions).
Her long potty break at the debate?
As to a spiritual awakening. May it be so. I am often reminded these days of pharaoh’s hardened heart and fear that it is a state of being that has darkened the souls of many people.
Mark 9:29
And he said to them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
Pray without ceasing for all souls.

Y’all think I was being snarky when I mentioned this Monday, I believe? I can remember Egypt when they were slaughtering livestock on apartment building roofs, slitting throats and tossing the drained blood into the all-purpose canal running down the center of the street.
Judaism was a sacrificial religion at one time but thry evolved out of it. One down, one to go.

Trump mentioned this butchery in one of his speeches. There are pictures.
There is no place in human society for such people who live by the way of savagery. We need to fight as if our lives and our children’s lives depend upon it.
There is no good Islam. There is no moderate Muslim. There are Muslims and there are apostates. Apostate Muslims are under the same death sentence as infidels in accordance with Sharia Law.

People in the hectic urban areas don’t want to be bothered with horrid things that they can’t control and make them unsettled…just my belief. It’s how I explain the silent heroin epidemic that’s crept into all areas of the country.

We all tend to view the world based on what we experience and see around us. A person who has never owned a home, or doesn’t have anyone in their family who has, won’t consider the possibility of home ownership for themselves. A child who lives in a family without a father or father figure, views family through that perspective, where unmarried biological parents without emotional ties are normal.
It isn’t surprising that the “Great Society” has spawned this mess we have in poor urban neighborhoods. The question is: how do we turn it around? How do we inject the imagination of a different life into the minds of urban children who live in these surroundings? Is it any wonder that living in such an environment would breed drug addiction and alcoholism?
LikeLiked by 9 people
We tend to think about drug addiction as being a lower class issue but I can assure you that the upper middle to affluent classes have their pet pushers who provide a quality product from grass to heroin. It’s a big market too.
You don’t generally see someone earning six figures or better year being busted for drug use, you see them diverted to treatment (if they ever even get busted) before indictment. MDs even have a special diversion program..after all, they’re more special than the Great Uneducated Unwashed.
Drugs are behind a significant portion of robberies, burglaries and muggings. Drugs are directly behind the overwhelming majority of ‘gun violence’, you hear about the shootings but you seldom hear why the shooting occurred…the media and pol spinners have declared guns to be the problem, not drugs. Maybe if the gun industry threw money around as freely as the illegal drug business does we’d see some paradigm shifts.
The drug issue at the bottom won’t and can’t be dealt with until the drug issue in all of its facets is dealt with at the top, that whole ‘the fish rots’ issue.
LikeLiked by 2 people
True enough, czar. Those in the upper middle to affluent classes have more of a support net in terms of family and resources than those who are poor, though. They also can afford good lawyers, and their possibilities are wider.
LikeLiked by 2 people
And the available studies seem to show their drug use rates aren’t that far behind the lower class’s.

Studies?
LikeLike
Yeah. Universities, the Feds, they all do ‘studies’ of addiction but problem is that it’s very difficult to get a solid grip on adiction in areas such as upper class, professionals such as physicians, attorneys, etc.
You hear about addiction rates in crack sotted public housing but where do those Hollywood celebs get their high-grade drugs and why do we hear about them going to glitzy rehab facilities for ‘substance addiction issues’ while we seldom if ever hear of them going to jail?
Lookie here, http://www.wvmphp.org/PHP.PhaseI.How_are_Addicted_Phys_treated.pdf, we see a ‘substance abuse rate’ among physicians of some 10 to 12 percent, and let’s nor forget nurses and other staff. Oh, but here abuse is a disease and if they go through treatment they get to keep their licences…no judicial proceedings, no judicial records.
Lower class citizens buy their drugs on the street, exposing them to arrest by the flocks of LEA that target the low hanging fruit. You see vans of drug cops driving through upper class communities looking for the six-digit users and the pushers who deliver a high quality product? High income users go to rehab spas while lower class ones go to jail. There are obvious sources of data on low income abuse rates while high roller rate studies are more sketchy as data are harder toncome by, Hippa and all that. You wanna dig and they’re there, but I’d suggest that if you’re friends with a cop who’s comfortable talking with you that you ask him about heroin, marijuana and cocaine use and pusher/user arrest rates in the ‘gated community’ section of your city.

Earlier today I looked a little, and ran across a study that said that socioeconomic condition and education are big determiners of who will and will not become an addict/alcoholic.

Ran outta reply space. Yes, but data, data, data. How do younget addction rate data for, let’s say, people earning over $200k (just to pick a figure) a year? How are you going to get data on docs addicted to their own scrip meds when they turn themselves in/are referred by employing hospitals to a PHP? Or lawyers or anyone else who hits diversion/rehab before their problem becomes public knowledge through the judicial process or government funded public treatment programs? If you go into private treatment your condition’s a disease and subject to all of the government privacy controls, even as a statistic your butt’s covered.
I’ve worked private details, as have many LEA, where come and grass flowed freely as booze. I still have bite marks on my ass from an incident at a celeb party where I threatened to arrest the next person who walked by me tokin’ on a joint. Lord knows what else was being used there out of sight/smell. I’ve heard the same thing from LEA working private affairs in other major party cities…RHIP…rich has its privileges.

Not really. At the time, I was able to walk for miles at a slow pace with no trouble. And I was lucky to be invited by a person with access to the private parties, which were held at homes on the edge of the course, so we had a chance to rest. I would check with the sponsor course to see what they offer for persons who are unable to walk distances. Perhaps bleachers.

Depends on the day, is it Thurs or Fri or Sat and Sun after the cut, who y0u want to see. I took my Mom a few years ago to a World Match or something at Harding Park in SF. We/I also have been to Pebble Beach a few times to see the AT&T and followed similar paths.
Tiger was big then, so of course we wanted to see him. But we ended up planted on one hole, watched a lot of groups come through, saw their precision with the drive placement and then the approach. They are really good.
Then we kind of moseyed around a bit, then figured out it was going to be a play off, positioned ourselves on the ropes on 16, was fortunate enough it did come to that final hole, watched as Tiger sink his putt, and John Daly, after a spectacular, cigarette chucking, out of nowhere, over the trees approach that no human could possibly hit, yet he did, miss his putt. Fantastic ending to a world class tourney.
My advice: Who do you want to see, are you familiar with the course and if so, what holes are your favorite. If a casual fan, watch a few groups come through, watch their perfection as to where they hit, the roll of the greens, the putting finesse. It is all about putting when it comes down to it. And they are good. Enjoy the scenery. Enjoy the atmosphere. Enjoy the food, your fellow spectators, get in tune with what is happening, think ahead, and then try to position.
Don’t know where you’re from or course you’re going to, but it is fun.

Anyone with any less ego, less forceful, less loud wouldn’t have been able to do what’s been necessary here to flip the bird to the corrupt washington establishment of both parties, the corrupt media, and to so skillfully manipulate the media as he has done – and it was 100% required or the Republican nominee would’ve had no chance. Even his understanding of why it was necessary to do his live event rallies, on a crazy schedule no other candidate would’ve done – has been a stroke of brilliance directly resulting from his understanding of what’s happening in media, TV, and computer screens. People are hungry for something real – to see things for themselves, up close and personal. And he’s given just about every American a chance to be there in the room with him.

That was actually the most effective tactic of socialism for the past 200+ years. That personal touch between humans, the emotional connection. For everyone that has demanded that we use the lefts tactics against itself; there it is.

I agree with the sentiment that access/availability to information has changed to the degree that lies by themselves are not as effective a tool to the socialist left as they were even a decade ago.
A simple Internet search today can pull up scanned images of documents 200-300 years old that refute college history textbooks written and published within the last 15 years by experts in the field.

I was listening to a YouTube interview with Diana Gabaldon, in which she says that her husband, like Jamie Fraser, is a 6’4″ redhead, and that he wrote the last words in book five, The Fiery Cross:
“When the day shall come, that we do part,” he said softly, and turned to look at me, “if my last words are not ‘I love you’— ye’ll ken it was because I didna have time.”

So, Obama just, for the 27th time, used a pen to steal thousands more acres of land and make it unusable.
From the article:
“Obama said the world was asking too much of its oceans. He said the investments the U.S. and other nations were taking with new marine protected areas were vital for their economy and national security, but “also vital to our spirit.” He noted that he had spent his own childhood looking out over the ocean shores and being humbled by the endless expanse.
“I know that in a contest between us and the oceans, eventually the oceans will win one way or the other,” he said. “So it’s up to us to adapt, not the other way around.”
(Regarding that last line, he could replace “the oceans” with “Islam” and still be telling us what he believes.)
At least the lobster fishers and crab fishers are allowed 7 more years before they have to quit making a living. The rest have 60 days. With the stroke of a pen.

“Our department, along with numerous local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, has worked tirelessly on the still-ongoing investigation of Twin Peaks,” Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said in a statement. “We have completed an exhaustive internal investigation on the officer-involved portion of the incident, which was reviewed by the Texas Rangers. The three officers have been cleared by the investigation, and the action of the grand jury affirms those findings.”
….
Four of the people killed in the shootout and one of the wounded were struck with bullets from .223-caliber rifles, the only type of firearms police used at the scene, according to an Associated Press report. Two of the bikers killed also were struck with other types of bullets, according to the AP report.
It is unclear whether bikers fired the same caliber of bullets. Twelve long guns were reportedly recovered from Twin Peaks, which could include rifles.
