We see several around here, our dogs for the most part keep them chased away but I’m always worried one is going to get too close and the dogs will kill it and it will have some tracking device on it and they’ll show up thinking I killed it.

Yeah, at first I thought that the highly trained and skilled Federal investigators could tell the difference between your and your dogs’ teeth marks but then I remember the Federal ‘experts’ I worked with. Also begs the question: “Why would you attack an eagle with your bare teeth?”.
Got a shovel in the garage?

That’s what I always think that if it were to happen they wouldn’t be smart enough to see that it had not been shot.
The pyrenees dogs watch for attacks from the air and I have seen them catch chicken hawks that have swooped down. They ate the evidence so they wouldn’t have to go to doggy jail. lol

Two of them, one is 3/4 pyrenees and 1/4 komondor, the other is pyrenees and another guardian breed mix that I can’t remember the name of.
The one with 1/4 komondor is the best dog I’ve ever owned.

My first love is shepherding dogs, hence my GSDs and border collies. I had friends who had Pyrenees and, strangely enough in deep south Mississippi, there’s a farm down the road from me that has sheep and Pyrenees.
My unattained dog-goal in life was to own a Caucasian Shepherd Dog (sounds a bit racist, don’t it?) but the climates we live in (both temperature and political) prevent that. First ran into the Caucasian in the 70s when reports of them as Russian military working dogs filtered back to us. Seems handlers got extra family food rations if they were to take their Caucasian working dogs home with them to live. The dog’s a lot alpha and many of them ended up taking over the house, even holding the family at bay and stealing their food off of the table. Think a 200-plus pound coated German shepherd with alpha-attitude.

We used to raise Australian Shepherds and I still have a lot of love for them, just don’t have the same energy I once had in working them.
The cool thing about the guardian dogs is that they don’t take much in training, put them with what you want to guard and they ‘usually’ will soon start protecting them with their life. The hardest part is not loving too much on them when they’re puppies, because then they’ll want to bond with you instead of what you want them to protect. You really only want them to allow you to touch them and we do try to teach ours a few basic commands so it makes it a little easier to take them to the vet. It’s still always a battle though because they do not like to leave. It’s also always a fun time when it’s time to sell off the baby goats, they don’t like that at all. Someone always has to hold them to keep them from eating the people stealing their babies. lol

Zauber just vacuumed up my GGS, Z was 4 when I brought my GGS here as a baby and he immediately bonded with him. I have a lot of pics of Z on the floor, couch or bed with GGS, wrapped around him or with an ‘ownership’ paw on him, ditto with the border collie.
We have two young pit mixes now, the pit/beagle and pit/lab (new pup) and they are protective but not like sheps or collies are. I’m not about to get and become attached to another big shep or collie, bad enough at our ages we have two pups.

My son-in-law has an English Bulldog, he was about a year old when my GS was born. We all were surprised at how he bonded with the baby. Those two are inseparable now. My GS won’t take a nap without his dog.
This dog loves people and until my GS started running around everywhere if someone happened to show up here he was butt waggin’ and wanting to welcome them. Now he’s protective if my GS is outside and snarls at them.
He’s like a babysitter.
I’ve never liked the dog because he’s kind of stupid and clumsy and always drooling, but now that I can’t have one without the other he’s kind of grown on me. lol

I was talking to my brother in Michigan one Saturday and I heard a hawk screaming his lungs out. I was afraid he was after one of my cats and the Bleu Heeler had nailed him. I ran out the back door only to see the hawk flapping his wings for everything he was worth with a Bald Eagle right on his tail feathers. Fortunately for the hawk he made a crash landing into the neighbors pine trees and the Eagle missed him. I’m pretty sure it took a few years off the hawks life.

Having seen this scene, the eagle fishing, maybe 3 times in my life. Along the Missouri River outside Ft. Leavenworth, and here. We have 4-6 eagles who live at the lake all year. There are a couple along the rivers in Pittsburgh.

She’s the most publically-acceptable volunteer quisling they had and, as I’ve said and believe, all she has to do is stay breathing through the inauguration and they are in. Her replacement’s already queued in and is willing to take part or wouldn’t be her VP.
Let’s say that she knew months, if not years, ago that entropy had caught up with her. She’s always wanted to be Xena, lording over the unworthy mouth-breathing sheep under her. As long as she’s on the way to composting why not go out making history and taking one huge act of treasonous revenge against the country and people who failed to recognize her greatness and kiss her spandex-restrained posterior?

Donald and Ivana Trump fight unsealing of divorce records
The Trumps filed separate legal briefs Tuesday in state court in Manhattan, urging a judge to reject the unsealing motion brought last month by The New York Times and newspaper chain Gannett.
“In seeking to invade the Trumps’ 26-year-old confidential matrimonial files, the Times and Gannett, as shown in Mr. Trump’s filing in opposition to their motion, rely on entirely unprecedented and erroneous arguments that are contrary to the protections afforded by the Legislature over 150 years ago,” attorney Marc Kasowitz wrote in Donald Trump’s response to the media motion.

I was on FB checking for birthdays of people I don’t speak with in person, and I saw someone shared a negative article about some Trump charity/criminal enterprise.
What amazes me is that the other side never really catches on that they don’t need to make anything up or embellish anything. Reality is scary enough.
If Trump gets rid of any part of the fraud and waste, there will be so many government employees out of work and all the businesses that make money from government fraud will go under.
It will be a very rough two – three years.

Whew, Imgot my Civil Service retirement so let’s go getbthem frauds and wastrels. But seriously, folks, I don’t see us ever getting rid of the Federal, dross, the system has a built-in poison pill in that if you kill a program those working there aren’t immediately out on the street. Anyone displaced gets to move to another job in the system of the same series, bumping that job’s occupant if the displaced employee has more time in service.
I’d posted before how my agency lost a multi-billion dollar contract on a retirement program it created and ran for years, civilian agency convinced the DC managers that it could do a better job more cheaply. On Friday afternoon a whole division of people who’d done nothing but retirement program for years were out of jobs. On Monday morning the bumping started and by the end of the week many of the folks who’d been doing 401ks were now sitting in the chairs of folks in personnel and health insurance having displaced those experienced employes.
The supervisior at the higher level were another issue as it was extremely difficult to get into one of those jobs without belonging to a good Mardi Gras krewe, the right golf/country club and/or having a set of industrial strength knee pads in your desk drawer. Add the convoluted processes to fire a high-ranking civil servant and the only real way to deal with them is to wrigle around the process and make slots for them.
You’d think Congress would reexamine and legislate a smoother system, right? I first heard Congresspersons stumping on that issue when I started Fed work in the 70s. It made me nervous until some old-timers told me not to worry, they’d heard that for years and nothing ever happens. They may enact some small changes and act as if they’ve given birth to elephants but even these changes are quietly quashed when the public’s attention’s waned. The unions and peripheral interests are too strong and you can never get enough Rats and Republicans together on the issue.

Thanks ❤️ All went well, I picked her up around 5, she had 5 teeth extracted , her molars were all good which is what usually goes, one of her front teeth needed to be pulled so the vet thinks it is more genetic than anything else.
She is drugged up but doesn’t seem to be in pain, the vet said they used a “block” so she shouldn’t feel any pain until tomorrow, she has antibiotics, painkiller/anti-inflamation, and a doggy valium so she should be fine.

The vet assistant said that they have resuscitated pets when surgeries went bad and people refused to pay for it saying that they did not approve it so now you have to choose whether or not they should resuscitate your dog if something goes wrong 😐.

I know. I was really surprised and really surprised that they didn’t give me the information prior to when I was dropping her off. I figured the chance was slim that it would be needed but I signed to resuscitate just in case. The assistant said they never lost a dog during a tooth extraction but Italian Greyhounds have a peculiar physiology and are more susceptible to adverse reactions to many things including medications.
I’m supposed to put a sweater on her because of one of the medications but I can’t find her sweaters.

OK, he burned a quarter-sized hole in het blouse, sort of like those nuts that run around the city stabbing people with hatpins, but as this victim was not only a Moslem but a tourist we have to blow the issue up (no pun intended).
Note the surveillance video and the perp in it. Police aren’r releasing a description as they can’t seem to come up with an ethnicity from the grainy video…hmmmmm. I suggest they use the Orlando PD’s methodology and say they’re looking for a rather dark-skinned Caucasian or Hispanic-looking Caucasian.

Why the Democrats cannot replace Hillary Clinton
By Robert Arvay
With the much publicized recent health scare regarding Hillary Clinton, there are rumors of the Democrat National Committee seriously considering replacing her. Here is why they can’t.
In a nutshell, it is the Clinton Family Foundation. With millions of dollars collected from donors, including foreign governments, it is hardly a secret that those donors expect their money’s worth – not in charity, but in influence. A Clinton in the White House will be the one and only avenue of repayment to those donors.
No one else will do – not even another Democrat. No one outside the Clinton family will reliably honor those agreements…

Thanks Mom, no doubt it’s a good movie. Had my fill of auto rotations, and in flight restarts, loss of electrical, hydraulics in training, and real world. So I’ll pass on this. This incident was a one in a million shot, and he took it! While the co-pilot was trying to do engine re starts all the way in.
There was a news story that had posted some of the plane pictures, the engines were in re start configuration…… As one of my old IPs would say “Guts, Baby, Guts”.

Of course, I know very little, okay, nothing about flying, so they could snow me with the jargon and flipping cute little switches. But, what got me was the lengths they went to to hang him. The thing I did understand totally was that the birds hit both engines, no air liner had ever survived a crash in the water, and ALL on board were saved. I can understand you passing on a movie that is probably less exciting than your own personal stories of your flights. 🙂

I knew both engines were hit with birds, I believe geese. Maybe I miss understood you, “went to lengths to hang him”. Do you mean the Airline? Hey let me say this; any landing you walk away from is a good landing”. Not my saying, just was passed along to me in flight school.

The NTSB? They told him he had made the wrong decision to ditch the plane in the water on the basis of the flight simulations. Only the pilots in the simulators practiced the landing 17 times before they managed the landing. Also, they didn’t have both engines at the time.

Sigh, I just spent over an hour arguing with some moron on Fb about Mr. Trump. He had all the normal MSM lies and I told him so. He wanted links to rebut it, so I sent him about 20. His comeback was “Those are not legitimate News sites.” He was quoting Redstate!!!! His final mortal blow after I tried to explain Muslem overload and no 2nd amendment, healthcare you can’t afford, and loss of free speech, he called me a bigot. He’s blocked now and I went through and cleaned up my FB page.

We have those in our little town. I thought it was such a good idea. I actually think they were put up by the town here.

The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help. __Ronald Reagan
I’m sure the busybodies who reported it as an unsecured structure are wretched self important people with no goals in life other than making people as miserable as they themselves are.

It’s like the cities who crack down on lemonade stands.
I was reading a local paper a few weeks ago about a town who told a neighborhood they had to tear down a little 3 sided building that the neighborhood had gotten together and built for the kids to wait in for the school bus. It was on private property and the homeowner was going to face thousands in fines if they didn’t take it down.

Yep. Too many people have too little to do so they go out and create problems where none exist.

We find out Monday if the new baby is a boy or girl. I would love a little girl but my gut says it’s a boy. My daughter thinks it’s a boy.
She’s having a 3-D ultrasound where everyone can see it. She did it with my grandson as well and it’s really cool, hopefully this one won’t be giving us the finger like the other did. lol

I did too! I showed it to my hubby when it popped up on Twitter. I said to him that I knew I shouldn’t find it funny, but I couldn’t help myself! It’s priceless!

Watching an interesting soecial,on Chicago drug problems. Chicago’s the 3 poorest city in thevUS, sections have 21% poverty rate. More people were killed in Chicago from 2003 to 2012 than US soldiers were killed in Iraq. And the negative list goes on, their nor forgetting to mention that the POtuS’s homevis right smack in the worst drug section of the city.
Now we have dynamic duo, one in charge of Chicago and the other the US and both seem to be blindly presiding over not only a city that’s the Mexican cartel distribution center for the Midwest but a country that can’t seem to even put a dent into the flood of drugs flowing into the country. Now they want us to elect Hellary whose ALLEGED drug connections to back to when Obama wasn’t old enough to buy beer.

As if the Feds don’t know anything about this……..my two fold question is: 1. Can the Feds clean this up, to include stopping the drugs, prosecuting all taking the money. 2. This will cause grief with the Cartels, are we/or will be prepared for their retribution?

1. Feds have had the War on Drugs going since 1971…seeing any dents in the problem? You have huge numbers of government employees from local to Federal whose mortgage payments depend upon the War staying a war and how many ‘public servants’ and private businesses at all levels handle that dirty money? Feds will lower taxes before the slaughter the drug war cash cow.
2. Total Chicago violent deaths in 2015: 491; so far this year: 521. It ain’t sorta here already? Cartels know US pols and LEA will accept a certain level of violence as ‘business’ and when the ostrich public starts to get nervous they just pass a new useless law or two, have a bust that displays what may be an artificially enhanced pile of guns and drugs, those tactics designed to massage the public’s denial.
